Hi The dabber is balanced sailing with just the main sail, unlike the Lugger if your getting over powered by the wind, the advice is to take in the jib and mizzen in first and sail with the main. The nice thing about having the three sails is you have options and can experiment, if in a blow and sailing down wind I take the main down and tack down wind with jib and mizzen , this is very stable but no good if you want to sail above a reach realy.
