Your video told me what I needed to know, but I have replace this seal before on other vehicles. Just an FYI for your future videos. Don't use words like "Do hickey" or anything else that takes away from your credibility. I think it's great that you took the initiative to try it and post your findings. Keep up the good work. The "do hickey" is a speedy sleeve. This may be a brand name, but any parts house would know what you want if you ask for it. Good job. I will be changing mine soon.
Thanks! I was thinking the same thing. How was I going to find a doo-hickey online?
It’s actually called a “wear sleeve”
Best video I've seen on seal. Great job
what size is the "repair" sleeve for the yoke?
use a puller not a rubber mallet to get the pinion off so you don"t cause yourself other issues. the little thingy, thing amagiggy is a called a reddi or speedi sleeve.
Anyway did it work OK? Is it leaking at all or any other problems
Hey Just came across your work. How did it work out ? Good to go ?
You still have truck ?
Excellent video tutorial
Has not leaked and yes still have the truck
Love the content bro!
Thanks bro hope you have a happy new year.
@@sendittrucks thank you. Hope you have a happy new year as well
I did my truck and when I put everything back it wasn't exactly the same I didn't want to force it back to where it was maybe is ok
No issues or leaks. As long as back lash feels the same I wouldn't worry to much
good info,,,thanks
What size socket did u use gotta replace mine
Don't remember look on forums
1 5/16
It's actually in this video at 4:58, but you gotta look fast !
1 5/16"
How many threads was showing
Sheeesh dont recall.
Really good, thank you
Cool video 👍
Thx for watching bro hope you have a happy new year
@@sendittrucks Thank you, you as well!
definitely not the way you do this especially beating the yolk off the pinion, craziest thing I ever saw done to a rear diff...
part numbers for the seal and sleeve ???
Shoot my bad I'll link em today and comment back
DIESEL SYNDICATE I got the sleeve so where is the part number for the seal
@@RecklessSavage just linked the exact 1 i got in description. Its a spicer 1
Good job
What size PVC?
I believe a 3.5 I'd measure the seal . Dont remember tbh
Hows it holding up now?
Still good
👍🏼
All Dodge ram always leaks
Step one making a howto video. Good camera, on a tripod. check.
Step two set focus on what the content is about. Check
Good job. :)
That amount of metal on the magnet is fine.
Parts stores have gear pullers for free to borrow, use em.
No seal driver = tap tap tap gently to get started, then a piece of wood works great, so it wont go past the edge. Your PVC got the job done fine.
Always remove the fill hole on the diff cover before you take the diff cover off.
And if you want to see something not to do.
