Thanks, I really want to get back on the rivers for the wild brown trout as soon as levels and temperatures are fish friendly.

Hi Phil, if that is where I think it is? i was asst. manager in the Loriston Hotel in the early 90s and joined the angling club. I fished both this wee loch and the one further up the road that was at that time pretty well covered in lilies/surface weed. it was in the first loch with its gin clear water that I really got to see fresh stocked fish behaviour and longer resident fish behaviour - fantastic way to learn methods for both - loved it - recently went up for a a reckie with the missus - TIGHT LINES

Thanks for commenting and it does sound like you fished the same little lochcans. If I'm right the hotel has a new name these days. I'm glad it brought back memories for you. Tight lines, Phil.

Nice Place! Your title put me in mind of a song I first heard sung by Judy Garland !!! "Always Chasing Rainbows" Dont think she was referring to Rainbow Trout! Enjoying your videos from Westcoast Canada! CHEERS from HERE!

The Rainbow Trout are not native to these parts and are generally not popular in the Salmon, Sea Trout and wild Brown Trout rivers. Many are escapees from commercial fish farms. That said they can be great fun to catch in these little lochans.

I used to live in that area. Next year we are visiting and I’m bringing my fly rods. Here in Australia I use a 14wt rod. Will bring a 6wt and 8/9wt rods.
