I've not seen the manga but the anime was one of the first I picked up on VHS, I think it's still enjoyable today.
I've didn't seen something similar to Golgo_13, and I've seen a lot. Can say without a doubt that this is timeless artwork.

Ocean Drive is a track that's meant to be listened to during summer, cruising with sunglasses on with all the windows down. It's been one of my all-time favorite ever since I discovered your original video something like 6-7 years ago. While you did not write the music, your edit gave it that special vibe. I had Golgo 13 on videocassete. Great manga movie. I was a kid in the 80's. Great times, great music.
That cowbell makes me feel DiFfEreNt.
Active memories from all the good things that marked the 80s, 90s, and early zero's until late 2007 come by when hearing this music. The cartoon even incorporates all those memories brilliantly just by depicting old skool vibes.
I hate it when such epic masterpieces get deleted. Along with them so many relatable comments are lost.

No one can do animation like this anymore, or doesn't bother. Kind of sad. It's one of a kind.
I agree this kind of art got lost in the ways of making animes on computers today sadly.
Dezaki was a master, he had no equal and nobody captures Gekiga like he did even today.
No to mention, in terms of the Golgo 13 series, I don't think there's EVER going to be a movie as solid or as memorable as The Professional. Queen Bee and the 2008 series don't even come close.

Hot DAMN. I got new headphones and an amp to listen to some synths and WOW, I never noticed there's that dissonant chord at 1:52-1:53 (or 1:44 in the Bandcamp version). I thought I never noticed because of the crappy YT compression but turns out it sounds so clear even in YT. Now I understand why "audiophile headphones" are a thing. So many songs have so many details you wouldn't notice otherwise.

this was the song that started me all in this genre of music. it was a cold nyc night in the winter and i needed some warmth. i got on youtube and typed in "miami ocean drive" to see some classic miami palm trees and ppl enjoying beautiful weather. i saw might nights 1984 and said to myself " ok i like miami in the 80s maybe its some old footage". it starts and i see a video of a anime movie with a real heavy 80s songs in the backround. im thinking how this song is nostalgic to a time i never knew. so i continued watching and listening liking what i was hearing and then the drop at 2:21 hits. Floods my body with goosebumps and that was it. Been a fan ever since. bought both mn84 albums on itunes and been listening ever since. we need some new miami nights 1984 !!!!
Can’t think of a better way to describe synthwave than how you wrote it. Perfect description, goosebumps and that feeling like you’re in a movie or in a perfect moment of nostalgia from the past. The Midnight, FM-84, Mitch Murder, and Electric Youth are a few other favorite groups.
You have no idea how many times I've drove into the night with this video playing in my car.
Somehow it fits perfectly, when I drive out of my local community onto a quasi-highway that leads to the center of my city I have to pass next to a speed camera. By just a miracle I nearly always pass it 2 minutes and 21 seconds after getting into my car, starting the engine up and backing out into the street. In the moment the beat drops I push the gas in and hear the engine rumble and groan as the rpms pick up. It's absolutely magical every time and I want to thank you for making this.
On a side note: I watched Golgo13 way too many times because of this music video.
