    Oldest university town...Uppsala?....everybody knows that Lund is the oldest university city in Sweden...but yes it was danish when it was founded....🥰

      Thanks for your comment. What I find in both universities’ websites is that Uppsala university was founded in 1477 where it is referred to as “the first university in the Nordic countries”and Lund university in 1666.
      But there might be some information I am missing, I am not really a historian 🤗

      @@NookCrannyTrips The comment was written with some irony because in sweden there is constant battle which one was the oldest. As the south part of sweden was danish until 1658 it depends on how you count. Uppsala is the seat of the archbishop in sweden and lund at that time for east Denmark. Both very powerful strongholds. Then the education was within the church and the monastaries of whom there were plenty. Anyhow both cities are wonderful with a charachter of its own. I have lived in both.

      @@pereinarolsson3928 The city of Lund is older than the city of Uppsala but Uppsala University is older than Lund University
