- WARNING - DON'T book your travel through Expedia - they are super sketchy! So many people have reported being double or triple-charged by Expedia.com - and Expedia has refused to refund duplicate charges caused by glitches on their site and app. I don't know if travelocity and hotels.com are as sketchy, but they are owned by the same company. I will be trying competitor Priceline in the future.
The Kawasaki Warehouse is a huge arcade in Kawasaki Japan (about 30-40 minutes from Tokyo by train). The coolest part of the arcade is a section modeled after Kowloon Walled City, a crowded urban nest in Hong Kong that was demolished in the 1990's. Kowloon inspired the settings of many fictional video games, animes, and movies.
The Kowloon section of the arcade houses classic game cabinets such as Darius, Outrun, Street Fighter, and Gauntlet. ウェアハウス 川崎店 • ウェアハウスカワサキテン
Imagine hanging out with your friends in such an authentic, creepy arcade. Pure fun.
This is a recreation of an actual neighborhood that used to exist in Hong Kong. It's since been demolished.
FC it did actually in some parts
@@becca9226 I can believe the tight buildings, but a melting hole especially constructed for it, and a pool of green toxic stuff... Not really.
That restroom must be annoying to clean since its supposed to look dirty., You cant tell if its clean or not.
Watch the video again - pay very close attention and you'll notice that the actual porcelain (urinals, toilets, sinks) is spotlessly-clean white. It's the walls, floor, etc that look dirty. :)
That actually makes it easy to clean... no one can tell anyway. lols
If it's in Japan , it's clean.
@@theuglykwan Pretty sure your nose can tell.
@@AirLancer I've been in toilets in Hong Kong, some are so terrible your sense of smell just turns off due to overload.
at the beginning it looked like the start of a video game like bioshock or doom
I thought it was footage from _Bloodsport_ with Frank Dux on his way to the Kumite. :)
It's a place that sound forgot too leave.
And the peeking duck is always looking.
Yet the smell can only be imagined, in the walled in city.
Doom?
Whoever put the money to build this place *_really_* had a passion for cyberpunk aesthetics
The arcade is based on a real city that was torn down by the chinese gov in the 90s
I don't know why everyone gets a "cyber punk" vibe... I don't see it, I simply see the beauty that they tried to replicate. RIP to Kowloon and to the Kawasaki arcade.
@@monawilliams7264 agree. Cyberpunk is something completely different. If anything this is endtime or Steampunk / Dieselpunk. Reminds me of the movies waterworld or judge dredd if that says something to you
@@gabeydefunct British gov.
This was based off actual location in the world not cyberpunk. If anything cyberpunk got inspired by them
The ambient chatter noise was a very nice touch. Loved this place!!!
Dang I can't believe it's so empty. Been meaning to visit this place for ages--thanks for uploading this video! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here :)
10 am...
OMG! I am originally from Hong Kong, and this is fascinating. I have never been to Kowloon Walled City myself, but I've seen other slums, and the designers really paid attention to detail. The signage, the decor are unmistakably from my city. I will go and take a look a this next time I visit Tokyo!!
Sorry, but it closed down last November. It is now lost to time.
If they didn't demolish it in Hong Kong, they could have done a couple science fiction/cyberpunk movies in there
Bloodsport was filmed there.
So glad I got to see this before it closed down. It was a real hidden gem and absolutely incredible design! I hope they reconcile the issues and bring it back in full swing.
I will never understand why people would downvote a video like this. It just shows an interesting location, no political opinion or whatever. So why would someone say "Naah thats bad I'm gonna downvote this"?
Jesus could come back to our world and make a RUclips video, and it would get downvotes. Don't worry, it's part of the experience.
@@jesuszamora6949 ok jesus

So awesome! Really does look like Kowloon...Amazing!
Mantis Monk fine tribute to the walled city of Kowloon
I'm feeling a AKIRA/Fallout vibe from this
Fist of the north star, too?
And Taylor swift ready for it mv vibe
This is giving me some "Let It Die" vibes! It looks like something that Grasshopper Manufactures would make.
I planned a trip to the mysterious walled city when I was a teen but was too frightened and only got as far as the last train station near it. One of my many regrets in life not visiting it when it was still there. In the middle was a Christian missionary who used really graphic imagery to scare people off drugs and she would visit the local schools and put the literal fear of God into people. This arcade looks amazing but sadly like sop many amazing places in Japan, has since closed sadly.
It amazes me how Japan is full of crazy places like this with people willing to pay for and create these crazy and creative places. This kind of spectacle just doesn't exist where I'm from.
The way u filmed it at the beginning makes it seem like a House Of The Dead Level.
That place looks amazing I would love to go there someday.
It sadly closed
I'm japanese but i didnt know such arcade!!
cool
This place is basically the real life version of the Foot-clan Arcade Hideout from the 1990 TMNT movie.. and I am here for it.
I find this place really beautiful for some reason
This would be an amazing laser tag/airsoft/paintball course. Like recreate this entire building and use it as an entire course. That would be the coolest thing in the world.
I highly respect the person who made this. This art is better than the Mona Lisa painting.
unfortunately it has been shut down
GREAT seeing you at the Atlanta Renaissance fair my man! Jason aka (Ironman from your 2014 DragonCon video)
Amazing quality and camerawork. First time to watch this video in 2020 and some of the shots could’ve had me fooled if you told me it was from a PS5 game.
lol half the fun is getting there XD
It looks like a movie set. Amazing! How was the food?
...the video camera trick shots were motioned like what one might see in VR...
simply amazing...
it imitates also same named 1997 cult-game "Kowloon's gate". You can find some info in Wiki and walkthrough here (utube)
where is it
Max Grigoriev well actually it's a replica of kowloon walled city in China but yeah.
I grew up in Kowloon albeit not in the Walled City. I can say the "dirty toilet' is accurate to the T!!!!
This is awesome
*This is so amazing even though it's fake! I love Japan as well as Hong Kong guys!* ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
OMG amazing, I wish they would re open this. Hopefully they can recreate this in NYC or LA, would love to go to that. If it was still open I would book a flight asap.
Its a dystopian beauty
That would be a great place for like some Ghost in the shell cosplay photos or even video.
it's actually pretty creepy :D
Supprisingly small amount of people, guess alot of people dont even know what that place is or something :/
He went early in the morning
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
Japan seems to be fascinated by Kowloon. For example, Shenmue II featured Kowloon. One of the most important cult games in Japan is Kowloon's Gate... Not sure about anime, but in videogames Kowloon has been the blank of cyberpunk games and things similar to that.
I love the fake rotissere chickens at 1:45
Awesome! Wish I could have been there for this bit. That looks SO cool.
this would make the dopest venue ever
awesome! love the table top games
Thanks for the travel tips and video. Can unfortunately confirm priceline is shit also. I booked a hotel only to find out it was a shoddy illegal rooming house. They would not return my phone calls and wouldn't refund my money
Finally an arcade dystopian city
I think I'm going to do some 3d modeling for a city inspired by kowloon walled city. So much detail in each corridor. Compact, each door could tell a story.
Ah! This is the perfect place for me to film an epic fight scene!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
loving your videos
You guys are so lucky, I totally want to live like you.
Some nice retro stuff there, amazing decor too.
This arcade is insane! We enjoyed a lot in january when we 'discovered' it. Really weird
that's awesome I always wanted to see the walled city and walk around it.
So... Hong Kong style street in Japan. Totally legit.
Also, those spam ads on the wall. XD
It is not a videogame??? Perfect camera work and amazing place....
Greetings from Czech Republic :)
Cyberpunk Atmosphere
Man that looked crazy
That place sounds like the 4th level of hell.
It's a great shoot from game player's perspective!
0:32 bloodsport 🤣
This looks like a fever dream
This is pretty impressive.
That is so cool! :V I could spend my time there like everyday.
WOW !!! __ It reminds me of some of the buildings I've explored.
OMG i gotta check this place out someday!!!!
It's as if we stepped into the set for the 1988 movie of Akira or the 1995 movie of Ghost in the Shell
I like the cyber punk vibes on this arcade
holy shit i would like to visit that place so much
1:53 A Street Fighter 1 machine? You don't see _that_ every day lmao.
Beautiful😍😍
Interesting idea.
amazing place
sadly this place is closing down soon!
Wait really?
@@akunemuri any idea if another company will buy the building and keep it running?
There’s only one Kowloon Walled City and there’s not gonna be another one like the original that got demolished.
I wanna live next to this arcade! And also crapping on expedia when you have 847k subscribers lmao
Wall Market vibes from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
That is sick!!!
Nice stabilization
THIS IS THE COOLEST FUCKING THING I EVER SEEN!
awesome
It gives off a re 6 vibe
What a cool place! :D
That's so cool
Awesome, just need more crowd
Fffffffffffffuuuuark that is seriously the coolest thing I have ever seen!! It reminds me of the Foot clan hideout in the first TMNT movie... but also kind of like the Turtles lair.
It looks really cool and I would love to go but unfortunately it closed before I got the chance to visit there
The Silent Hill 2 bathroom takes the cake.
amazing
Looks disturbing and chaotic. Wouldn't like living in a neighborhood like that.
RIP Kowloon Walled City (2005-2019)
ça déchire!
Awesome.
Oh no it's closing :(
That was AWESOME!
but... why were there only like 5 people in there?
I half expected to see the ninja turtles lol but that place looks amazing.
Nice!!!
I would spend all day in there
This is so weird and cool, especially when the real walled city is situated right next to my school
butterroronoabutter you do realize the real Kowloon walled city was demolished in 1994
@@becca9226 Love the fact that you replied to my 2-year old comment. And yea my old comment is a bit unclear: my school is located right next to the original site of the walled city. The site is now redeveloped into a park. I used to hang out there a lot.
butterroronoabutter lol yea im Just watching this video now. And it’s cool that your school is located near the Kowloon walled city park
@@becca9226 Yea considering my school is more than 60 years old I can't imagine what it's like to study right next to the City back then lol.
butterroronoabutter yea that would be really cool to go to school by the city before it was torn down. If it hadn’t been torn down I would have loved to go there
wow amazing
Welcome to Japan!
実写版マリオが面白くて注目していました
その方が日本に、しかもすぐ近くに来られたというのは感動です
ぜひ日本を楽しんでください(^ヮ^*)
cool!!
when your bedroom is so messy they model a themepark after it
wow, this IS cool
It's creepy, but cool...
Is it still there? ❤❤❤
