His choice of eating an apple during this "interview" (can't stress enough the air quotes for that word) was genius. It subtly implies that this "journalist" (again: large, exaggerated air quotes) doesn't matter to him in the slightest, and is so beneath him that it's not even going to stop him from having a snack and chewing into the microphone. I imagine it added to the reporter's nervousness amidst the very short questions Pierre kept asking amidst him trying to get his slanted question out.
