🤔Learn how to master preflop in our Preflop Mechanics video: ruclips.net/video/MPae2gqkeRw/видео.html 🤗All preflop ranges (Cash, MTT, Spins, HUSNG) are available for free at: gtowizard.com
What's the point of raising 0 EV hands? Is it only for balancing and getting called with top-of-range? If so, in small stakes where regs are not very good, and VS recreational players can we just raise the top of the range, supposing we get called anyway? And can we play with no mixing pre-flop?
Your content is one of those resources that have increased my understanding of many concepts. Ive had other channels and books and websites over time that have been milestones in my learning as well. It feels like a light bulb turned on in those situations. I actually watch some your stuff over and over to really let it sink in.
Very interesting to see how different rake structures change ranges so significantly. Would love to see similar content for an MTT structure (with antes)
Agreed. Even online, at least on WSOP, they have a lot of tourneys where there is no ante for the first 3-5 levels. Obviously we have less incentive to take a pot down pre with no antes hence we play slightly tighter, but at what point does it become less profitable to play aggressively due to increased ante sizes? I’m sure there’s variations in strategy even from a .1bb ante to a .3bb ante.
Would love to see how the gto preflop strategy would change against players who are underfolding to 3bets, but also under 4 betting (and under 3betting). Im curious about when you play gto preflop, how and where the EV loss from 3 betting a bluff (Vs opp that fold 45%), is gained back in the strategy.
Haha fair. It's possible to arrive at the right answer through more... intuitive means. Exploitative preflop sims have proved many "old-school" live cash exploits correct. And others wildly wrong.
EP v IP srp I wonder the inflection point where range asymmetry shifts more favourably towards PFR in this config. If IP flats everything but AA & 72o, what are the implications for oop's strategy
I really liked hearing you say open small from out of position. if you have pocket tens or Jacks from under the gun and you get re-raised you can fold. Likewise if you have Kings or Aces you can re-raise when you min raise from under the gun. I did that with Aces and by the time the action got back to me, there were three more raises so I just moved all in and got called by Ace King
This is a great video. From what you’ve explained, would it be safe to assume that as I move up in stake as a beginner player, the range of cards played become tighter? With me knowing that the chances of being looked up to are greater?
To start def a tighter range but you cant stay that way. Once they adjust to your play they will abuse you. Higher stakes is a lot more trappy and disguising your hand. They dont call that light except in nosebleeds
Ive always thought that an oop 3bet range is more polarized than an IP 3bet range, particularly a bb 3bet range. I was surprised to see the ip 3bet range be polarized and the bb range to be more merged.
Great video thank you. How should we adjust preflop strategy to live time rake games? So playing 1/2 we're paying 6bb per hour regardless of number of hands played. I like what you said in the video that we can open larger and with the less blocker-type hands because were being 3-bet rarely, what about for calling IP facing these large open sizes (making us not want to call often) but with a time-rake structure (making us incentivized to be involved more often)
Timed rake is strategically similar to rakeless solutions. Typically that means leaning more towards playability rather than trying to block 3bets, and calling a tad wider preflop.
Приветствую! если видео уроки GTOWizard перевести на русский язык ,тогда будет возможность обучаться и у тех кто его не понимает! например мне бы хотелось изучить , но к сожалению авто перевод через субтитры искажает некоторые слова
Regarding the open sizing about 20 min into the video, you show a table of hands which shows 99 makes +.24 EV in BB in the LJ in 500nl with a 2x BB raise. If these EV expected values are similar in a live 1/3 game, 0.24 doesn't even cover the 1$ tip to dealer which means you are slightly losing money over time if you play 99(or AJs, AQo, pretty much any suited broadway) in the LJ in a live game which sounds crazy to me. Now I know the players are worse at live 7-9 handed 1/3 holdem' and more multiway pots are likely, but this is eye opening. .
Yeah most hands in your opening range are extremely close to 0EV. Check out the EV's of hands in our opening chart (free 100bb deep). Keep in mind the pot is only 1.5bb, so the starting EV's will usually be a fraction of that number. I don't think it's completely fair to subtract $1 off 99's EV because you only pay that when you win.
How all these strategies compare to 40bb deep mtt play? I would suppose it's totally different (and of course depends on the mtt stage) are your videos advice only applicabe for cash game? or do you also have videos about mtt play?
I think the main reason maxmin opens a smaller size from early positions is the fact that your range has much less equity because: 1) there are more players after you and 2) you are oop vs most of them. The fact their response is more polarized is more a consequence than a cause, imho (cause theyre IP and your range is not so wide) . Anyway nice video.
question abput the 9 max ranges from 3 pos before LJ? its almost pure open AJ/KQo and A4-A9 s going to show a profit? i been ditching them in live games mostly from there ?
Yes, it's an exact calculation. Solvers calculate the "expected value" of strategies. Here are some articles you can read to learn more: What is EV in poker? blog.gtowizard.com/what-is-expected-value-in-poker/ How solvers find optimal strategies: blog.gtowizard.com/what-is-gto-in-poker/

Fantastic video as always, but 20:20 I promise that is not the rationale for open sizing at live 1/2.

very nice content mate.. So e.g. against a calling-stick-guy (like 30% fold to 3b), we have more incentive to 3b QJs?
EP v IP srp

13:59 I don’t get the math behind the 8bb, isn’t is 0.8 bb per hand or 80bb per 100 hands?
Yes you're right! I misspoke

Such good illustrated content! Great to review morphology visually and to know Im playing good ranges.
Such useful exploration for beginners. 🎉 and fantastic bonus info on sizing (best reasoning for the lower open raise from ep)
This is a great video. From what you’ve explained, would it be safe to assume that as I move up in stake as a beginner player, the range of cards played become tighter? With me knowing that the chances of being looked up to are greater?
They won’t become “tighter” they’ll just become more fit to GTO ranges.

Thank you. this stuff is right up there with Sklansky's theory.
well done
Excellent content. I have watched this one 5 times.

absolutely inspiring things you guys have done!
Always love these videos! Great job!
How does GTOwizard program even calculate the expected value of the preflop hands?
This is done with preflop solvers. Most of our solutions were made using Monker Solver, however the coach in this video is using HRC Beta.
@@GTOWizard
Who is the coach speaking, this guy is so easy to understand as a noob.
Thanks for content!
so much value... you guys are amazing!!
Thanks again, your videos are so good it's ridiculous!
Question: how do you get your preflop ranges?
Download their software :)
You can access our preflop ranges on gtowizard.com!
Very nice explanations 👍
Thank you 👍

So 25 hands per hour meaning 24bb 100 hands in rake... But If its deep stackars vs Americans then it must be plus ev...
very interesting insight! Thank you very much!
Do you study first principles for a living or something? Incredible content, my mind is blown every video
Really good deep stuff as always!!! 😀👍👍👍👍

Very nice content ! Please keep up the great work 🔥
Great content , ty
What are we doing with all these 100% 3bet t2s post flop i guess were playing aggressively

How does the solver 'calculates' how much IP/OOP is advantageous/disadvantageous?
Is it a exact thing?
Yes, it's an exact calculation. Solvers calculate the "expected value" of strategies.

Very good video
Assuming the BTN is always 3betting their premium hands is my favorite way to lose chips

Don't believe but it really worked
Did not understand anything. Absolute abracadabra.
