Just decided to take out my 5 year old sisterlocks, I’ve taken out my traditional locs before and it took a month! This may take longer.. but after getting to the middle of my loc its more like a braid or maybe not locked yet im using my hands to take it down and a flee comb from the petstore , its seems more easy than taking down traditional locs

Before washing... I'd suggest putting conditioner on the hair, and let it sit. The just detangle with a wide tooth comb! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Good Luck!

I’m riding this road with you both. I’ve been locked since 2018. My first journey were traditional locs. When my mother passed, I cut them down and started this 2nd journey with micro-braidlocs. I decided to just “start over” again by taking them out this time around. It’s been 3.5 months, I’m halfway thru my 250 micro Loc take down 😳. Thanks for the encouragement to keep going and NOT cutting my hair again! Be Blessed! Stay Safe!

I would have cut my 29 month Sisterlocs off!! And rocked a short Afro and enjoyed loose natural hair for a couple of months then got the install on healthy treated hair. You got a lot of patience! I couldn’t have taken my 310 locs down off to the barber I go lol. Good luck on your new journey!

This is the video with the person who had the most similar loc’d hair to me (in terms of texture and length) - so good to know what may happen if I take them down. Thanks for sharing before during and after.

Wow, congratulations! Thank you so much for your honesty and sharing your journey with us! I have had microlocs for one year and I have been considering combing them out, simply because I don’t feel that they are thriving as much as I thought they would. My hair has been through so much and at this point I’m torn.

Well done! You've given me motivtion and ways to style my hair in the transition. I'm about to undo my microlocs and restart. I'm not patient by nature *gulps*

Thank you! I honestly combined two colors. One of Mary Kay lipstick that's a deeper burgundy color and then a Bert's Bees lip glosses. They're old so both have probably been discontinued 😅

8 months! I would just cut them off! With the 4 inches of hair growth you could just be rocking braids with extensions while you grow it out. Well done for having the patience. Also how were you even styling your hair to go out in those 8 months?
