That knife was my second GEC. It is a very well made knife and excellent in use. I've wondered why they didn't sell out. It probably is the weaker snap. I really like the yellow rose version and have considered getting one.
@@twilightshooter4990 I have never had any issue carrying my 97 in my pocket. But I carried a case sodbuster for like 2 years, so I'm used to bigger knives.
@@BakeryWizard13 I bought the large GEC leather sheath to carry my #97s & #23s. I have one arm. Big knives work well for me. I open my gator snap knives with my feet and a CASE XX blade pick. I must have eighty-six GEC knives by now. I got four in the mail too. I want to buy every GEC#74 that I can afford. I know Northfield Mustang #74 parts are being made. I want some #74 Saddle Trapper two blades too. (not confirmed) yet
@@BakeryWizard13 Sometimes heavier knives can rub a hole in your pocket. KnivesShipFree makes "Northwoods" magnetic slips. $35 great for 3 1/2" to 3 7/8" knives. The magnetic leather flap hangs on the outside of your pocket. The slip stays at the top of your jeans pocket. I carry my Eureka GEC knife tip up in the slip. No fumbling your hand deep in the pocket searching for your knife. Use you index finger and thumb to pull out the knife in one second.

I hated the GEC#97 Allegheny Coke bottle knife. I bought twelve of them.

I keep thinking about getting the jigged bone one, I can't find a good enough excuse to have two of the same pattern.
3 1/2" to 3 7/8" knives are their best sellers. Bigger knives need to be on the hip.
