You summed ol Micka up to a T. He's a good dude. The Stache Stick is a good one. The ML is super versatile, which is what I like about it. Good for throwing a jig for about anything.

Another great day on the water. I use to always fish a specific river just up from the mouth of the Mississippi when the whites were running and it was always non-stop action even fishing from the banks. We usually got whites and skips in the same trips.
I've been running into that a little down here, mainly in the winter. Lately, at least by my house, it's been all skips. Haven't tried to hard to find the white bass other than this day. I should, because they're a blast.
Wear em out now! Those white bass are a joy to catch, especially on ultralight. Taste great and the catfish would agree too lol. Keep it up you two!

Blade baits do catch almost everything that swims, includind very small fish, but I like them in cold weather.

I had an Aunt and Uncle that were in the VA home there in Quincy, Illinois, both were in there bc my Uncle was a veteran, Korea I believe..? But yeah they both also passed away there too. They were originally from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, their youngest daughter, my cousin, she still lives around Chicago, Carol Stream actually.

I’d agree about hybrids being like channel cats. I do hold stripers in high regard, they are like largemouth on captain America juice. Bigger, stronger, more surly-er.

Spencer …. Enjoyed watching it. It’s Friday night at 9:20pm, Finally had a great day catfishing. I used shrimp one one pole and chicken breast on another. Both worked great …. Unfortunately, not channels but at least I caught catfish. Browns and yellows …. From 2 pounds 😅 to my biggest… 6 pounds. Unfortunately Connecticut fresh waters do not flatheads or blues. Still a great day. Plus yesterday I caught a nice 4 pound 15 inch small mouth. That was a fight and jumped many times …. The bite is on!

Fish Lake Roosevelt and the Columbia river in Washington state, huge cats, white sturgeon, salmon, burbot and smallies. Oh and huge walleye fishery in Moses lake. @samongoutdoors is your evergreen state hookup. Come to the top left corner bud. It’ll change you for life.

Caught a bunch of those white bass in Ohio once and only once. I found them not to be very tasty. spoiled by bluegills i guess. Love the channel cats though
Bluegills are definitely superior, but both make a fine fish taco.

I found that while anchored in the river,I can turn my motor one way or the other and swing the rear or the boat in or out (like a rudder) was wondering about the drift sock ? Is that to help with the swaying in the wind ?
A drift sock passively keeps the boat pointed one direction so you don’t tangle lines when bait dunking and reeling big fish in. Was that your question?
Angling the motor is important, but adding a drift sock does a much better job of reducing sway when it's windy
