Normally I'm not that fond of Rock songs being made into light Pop, but Annie absolutely nailed this one.
Procol Harum put this out in the late sixties. It is a perfect song no one could ever do it justice. Well, Annie Lennox just did.

I remember Annie in the Eurhythmics back in the early 80s when I was in high school. They were more pop than I liked back then but I recently stumbled onto Annie's cover of "I put a spell on you" and it was SSSSOOOO good it sent me down a rabbit hole. What a fantastic voice.
Was it really 1967 that I first heard this amazing song, possibly the greatest number ever written. Annie Lennox's genius brings yet another brilliant perception.

When I first heard this song, as a toddler, I could only visualize of halls and Roman columns made of marble and a vast sky of pink in my mind. It pretty much stuck with me.This song sounds so mystical, colorful, and beautiful and it always will be! Annie Lennox is already on my BEST singers list.
