    What a great thing to do. Plant a whole wood and then watch it mature as you also grow older. Just imagine this wooded area in 20 years. You can say, i planted that. Cracking idea. Looking forward to the far future updates.

    Think you will need to do some thinning out in a few years. Oaks and willows I would plant 10m apart from the start. Oaks will get swamped by canopy of the other trees due to being slow growing. Also don't forget to shear the Norway spruce trees to make a "so called" Christmas tree. Just shape like a cone, but don't cut the leader as will stunt its growth. White willows are good for cricket bats after about 10 years growth. Nice to see some trees being planted though. Too many cut down and not replaced.

    Hi Dags, great video. I do have a question tho, why did you not mulch the lawn before planting trees? Now you got 250 trees to go around :D Anyways love your vids, keep up the good work ;)

    • @DaggerwinExtra
      @DaggerwinExtra  6 лет назад +1

      Mainly because I needed to get the trees in the ground as once they have been ordered they can't really be sat around. Also it doesn't really bother me because when the grass grows I will have to cut around all the trees anyway.

    Easter special
    How about doing something for the arctic tractor event that takes place in April 21-22 2019 by farm photography and versatile farm of tamworth near staffordshire
    It’s a plowing event of articulated tractors from the 70 to modern day have them work on two or three fields and plant potatoes and sugar beats use the roper pack to do the harvest could be a lot fun and people have fun using different equipment from plowing to cultivating and planting the crops to harvest the crops

  • @chunkmen
    @chunkmen 6 лет назад

    Hey dagger win don't you think you over planted? Or are you planning on thinning trees as they get older

    • @Daggerwin
      @Daggerwin 6 лет назад +1

      I think it's the correct density for a thick wool and since some may die in the first crucial year. Like you said thinning them out is also a possibility

    • @chunkmen
      @chunkmen 6 лет назад

      If you do keep to this project and dont forget about them after about 7 years most trees can be thinned and sold to a mill for making lumber/pulp. So maybe you can make your money back. MAKING MONEY AND BEING GREEN.

    • @boerbrabant
      @boerbrabant 6 лет назад

      Daggerwin Yea some will always die. But i hope this year isnt gonna be dry because the grass will take away a lot of water in the ground.

  • @tomtownsend2868
    @tomtownsend2868 6 лет назад

    You should cover the roots of bare whip trees otherwise they be damaged from the wind. Think the wind burns them in some way don’t quote me on that though

  • @anthonyagri
    @anthonyagri 6 лет назад

    Maybe when the trees will be grown it might be a small version of a forest or a full version of a forest it will depend on the size of when the trees will be fully grown.
