  • Another one of my virtual orchestral mockups, this time for the timeless score from Jurassic Park composed by the legendary John Williams.
Despite being a fairly straightforward score (for Williams anyway) it was quite tricky to get the instrumental balance right on this one. I think I've got pretty close to the original.
    Libraries showcased in this arrangement:
    Cinematic Studio Strings
Performance Samples Solos of the Sea Solo Violin B
    Spitfire Abbey Road One
    Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra
    Cinesample Descant Horn
    ProjectSAM Luminous Choir
    BigCat Instruments Sonatina Choir
    Composed by John Williams
Arranged, mixed and mastered in Logic Pro by David Tregoning.

When I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to watch the original movie in cinema, since I was too young. So I accidentally bought the soundtrack of which I thought it was kind of an audio book / audio drama. After listening to the thing in its entirety, I was a bit sad about the fact it contained "only music". After getting over that, I figured that I actually quite liked what I had heard and so I listend to it again, and again, and again... The more I did the more I heard nuances and I liked that a lot. This soundtrack is literally what got my interest in music started. Until today I still get goosebumps listening to a piece from it. Was the same with your very good arrangement, so thank you very much!

    That sounds effin amazing!
Would it be possible for you to make a version of the longer version „welcome to jurassic park“ with both the main theme and journey to the island?

Thanks Marco! Maybe one day I’ll revisit this and do the full version. It’s the 30th Anniversary in 2023! 🦖 😉

Wow, amazing work!! This is one of my favorite cues from Williams! Would you be able to share the midi file please? I would love to use this to test out my recently purchased sample libraries. Thanks!! keep up the great work!

Hi David! Great mockup! It sounds really good! Love the concept of the video too!
I have a question tho, when you edited this video, how did you separated your DAW background from your midi notes? I'm trying to create a similar concept but I'm having a hard time separating my DAW background and turning down it's opacity to leave the midi notes highlighted like in your video.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

My parents took me to see this film in cinemas but I don't recall much about my experince seeing it but I have seen the film a bunch of times over the years and the original is still the best in the series with Lost World placing second, the Jworld first film is more or less a rethread of the original with only a few changes, its first sequel was forgettable garbage, not bothered with the last one of the series
