Stoned on acid at the New Yorker theater in Toronto in 1969, I saw Easy Rider just-released. My psychedelic trip merged with that of Karen Black tripping around a New Orleans cemetery with Dennis Hopper during Mardi Gras. I again saw her, this time in The Day of the Locust in 1975. For some reason, I basically lost touch with Karen Black after the mid1970s. I had no idea that she had been involved with so many movies during the course of her life. She was robbed of a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Five Easy Pieces" in 1970, but the real disgrace was her not being nominated for Best Actress for "The Day of the Locust," the best feminine screen performance of 1975, arguably the finest of her long and distinguished career.

So you are a Canadian fuck up? Sounds about right.

Beautiful eyes.
The next Laurence Olivier, you never expected.
When Karen Black is on the screen I can’t take my eyes off of her. 1:21
One of the finest comic actors of her generation
Red Dirt and Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean are two of my all-time favorite films.
she reminds me of Jessica Lang
Firecracker was exceptional as well.
I remember Karen Black best with a jar of screaming jelly.
I'm the 421st subscriber. That # is special to me...
Anyway. Karen and I are doppelganger. The eyes especially.
Those eyes see things a regular person doesn't.
👏 👏 👏 👏 Bravo
She did a good job faking the Southern accent in Five Easy Pieces.
Very nice montage
I don't know why but I use to confuse her with Barbara Hershey? I love both actresses. They are both great.
❤
1:22 😆 omg epic.
what about the strange possession of Mrs Oliver?
Didn't see "The Last Word" or "Trilogy Of Terror".
she looks scarily like Sarah Paulson in this
cross-eyed vamp
no she wasn't jewish.
