To be honest, this IS the best version of Terminator. The NES version straight up SUCKED, the SNES version sucked less, the MD one was pretty decent, and this is great.
Its a good action platformer in spirit of Terminator atleast. There is other game that i like too, Terminator 1991 made by Betheseda, sorta work like a open world hunt simulator. The graphics is outdated but the concept and idea is very good, the idea of either protecting or killing Sarah Connor, so it has sorta a horror but suspense feeling to it, its why i like it alot

More recently, there was Terminator: Resistance; which was kinda the same idea, but with a new protagonist named Jacob Rivers. But while it was a good game, Kyle is never seen and is only briefly mentioned as the protector who gets sent to intercept the first terminator.

Sega CD would have done a lot better if they had of stuck to games like this with awesome music. all of the point and click games and games that made you feel more like you were just watching a movie instead of playing a video game . . . its really sad. i still have my sega cd on a shelf and it had a lot of potential.
Sega CD had a ton of great games, it was just super expensive so nobody bought it. Sega forgot what got them ahead in the early days before Nintendo turned the tide.

Not sure I agree. The T-1000 was really scary as a villain, and the whole movie has an atmosphere of impeding doom, due to the imminence of "Judgment day" (The movie takes place in 1995, JD being in 97). Remember Sarah's dream about a nuclear explosion? At the time, that thing scared me more than any terminator.
Marco Coelho I agree with the other guy. The first movie is grittier and has a rawness that the flashy action blockbuster style second movie doesn't. The 2nd movie is aimed at a wider audience. Thats why more people say they prefer it over the first. The first movie is a true classic to sci-fi fans. The second one is an action blockbuster for a more mainstream audience. Lets also not forget how cheesy the second one is in places too. "I know now why you cry". Total cringe!

I agree. Gameplay is spot on, & Tommy Tallarico gave it an amazing soundtrack. This really needed a sequel based on T2. Acclaim put out a reasonably good port of the T2 arcade gun game, but their other T2 title wasn't nearly this nice.
This is one of that cases where de Sega CD Game is not just an enhanced version of a Genesis game. This one is much better than the faster and small Genesis game.

Such a great game. I remember playing back in the day and getting blown away from the music and graphics. The gameplay is challenging but fair. The other Terminator games were always overly difficult and frustrating as a kid but this one is fun to play while not a game you just finish in a day. I had Terminator on Master System before this and it was a real pain in the ass to try to beat.
I've always wondered how the humans were able to beat the machines in the future. Now I know-because the machines just walked at the humans without firing their weapons.
80's shred guitarist is a musical dream come true...and when that happens in the game it is all the more satisfying. Thunderhawk for Mega-CD, even though i wouldn't call it shred - but is one Hell of a hard rock soloing soundtrack! I play it on guitar as much as possible, such a sweet sounding melodies.
This is the best terminator 1 game out of all of the other home consoles and as far as t2 goes the arcade version is better than any of the home console versions
Christmas night, got the sega cd and this game (thanks to funcoland) had the system hooked into the stereo and flipped the game that same night. Such an amazing memory.

Still don't get why in both this and Genesis version they skip the bike and truck chase. You leave the police station, and all a sudden they're at the endoskeleton factory scene after the truck exploded, and it's worse in this version cuz they actually show that cut scene from the movie, completely out of context.

This gamer must have played through this many times, died many times from making mistakes (but that is how we learn) and this game has the right amount of challenge and addictiveness to make you want to play again and again to discover more secrets. You know I feel the cutscenes in this game are a example of technological limitations enchancing the game. The dark tone and low framerate makes them very creepy. Also all the focus on Kyle Reese in them adds to the athmosphere that Kyle Reese is a lone hero and cant rely on anyone but himself.
Which is why i want a mega CD so i can have The Terminator and Sonic CD to come with it cos those 2 are the best Mega CD game's ever made! can't have a Mega CD without Sonic CD and The Terminator ;)
I always found this game infinitely more playable than any other Terminator game ever made, apart from maybe pinball machines. Why were terminator games so bad? The T2 arcade game was okay for its time, but not anymore. This (and the pinball games) is the only Terminator game, past or present, worth playing.

As a mostly SNES guy, this version its simply exquisite. The SNES version looks like a hack for a mediocre Contra bootleg.
