Gambit (born Remy LeBeau) is a mutant with the ability to charge matter with explosive bio-kinetic energy. Playing cards are his weapon of choice, as well as a long, metal staff.

Taylor Kitsch portrayed an excellent Remy LeBeau/Gambit, he deserved more of that, this great and very classy character too !
Yeah except he didn't have the right accent. He started off with it for like the first few lines and then magically lost it. I think Austin Butler would be a better Gambit.

I loved this scene, this actor is so perfect as Gambit and he played the role well, too bad there wasn't more of him.

Yeah he was cool as hell but his powers are nothing like what they actually are. You’d probably think it’s a mix of super strength, levitation, and seismic waves but no.
His actual powers is to make any thing he touches an explosive. Since he’s great at card throws he uses those. But he can explode cars, debris, holes in wall to sneak into, and even water. He’s a theif and assassin turned Xman with a great ark thats Just frogoteen about.
@@underplayer420Saying Gambit makes things explode is like saying Wolverine heals fast. It's such a basic concept of his power. Before you lecture people on their knowledge, make sure you have plenty of your own. For instance, Gambit is part of the thieves Guild, never an assassin.
@@maniacal1870 I know it’s way more in depth than just simply making things explode. I just didn’t want to go super in depth on his ability so the comment wouldn’t be to long.
Also, when he quit the Theives guild to join the Xman in the original series he said “this is not my home. I am no thief or assassin. I am an X-man and I’m never coming back.”
The few seconds of him shooting the cards is better that all the newer X-men movies combined.
Gambit is sooooo cool ❤ His scenes are phenomenal. Another of my favorite is Quicksilver’s all scenes power.

Then again, this movie also had Wolverine's terrible CGI claws, so I'd say it kinda evens out. Either way, the effects have never really been the issue with this franchise.

@@labradude I don't agree there, some effects such as in the first Ironman movie look way better using CGI than anything they could have done practically. To me there's a difference between a movie making money and a quick cash grab movie. A movie where people put a lot of heart and effort into like the first few marvel movies feels like they're less cash-grab and more proud of their art even if they obviously still want their money
Gambit was my favorite mutant in X-Men. And it still hurts me that the writers didn't find a decent place for him in the franchise.

Don't forget his role as LT Michael Murphy in Lone Survivor. He nailed that role portraying a badass who won the MoH during Operation Res Wings.
This gambit was so painful to watch. The actor was built for it but it looks like the movie writers have no idea who Gambit is as a character.

He deserved more as Gambit
Even though he was only in the movie 2min he is one of the best cast X-men in the movies. Professor X and Wolverine being the only two better casted roles.
If Gambit weren't in this film, he would've been perfect to be in The Last Stand movie and play the field with him and Rogue and then Iceman and Shadowcat and also in Days of Future Past where he helped the X-Men in the dystopian Future to fight off the sentinels and then at the end he's seen with Rogue together.
Wish they should've had this Gambit in the main X-Men movies and DOFP. Him with Rogue would've been amazing.
Unpopular opinion there was actually a lot to like about wolverine origins and to Gambit was one of them I don't like that they messed up his eyes but I can't entirely hate the movie especially since it's the only big screen representation we have for my favorite character who I've loved since I was a child

Younger versions of Rouge and Gamit was supposed to appear in X-Men Apocalypse, but that never happened. Them along with Jubilee were also going to be in the 90's movie X-Men Dark Pheonix as well. Fox made a huge mistake in keeping this character's out of the spotlight for a long time. Everything got ruined when Fox got sold to Disney, now the fans will never get to see what could have been. Hey, at least we'll get to see Rouge, Gambit and Jubilee return in the X-Men 97 series. They need to have Taylor Kitch return to play card throwing cajun again in a new live action Gambit movie, featuring Rouge like how she was in the 90's cartoon.

I love Gambit but this movie really went overboard. Gambit's only mutant Ability is the ability to charge objects on touch and make them Explosive, the cards he uses is just a symbol of his personality as a gambler. Gambit isn't breaking the laws of physics and gravity, and he doesn't have super strength, at best he is acrobatic and uses a Martial arts style.
Gambit was the best and Taylor Kitsch playing him was perfect. The fact Gambit and Rogue don't have their own movie is crazy to me

This movie was made by someone who didn't understand xmen at all. Deadpool was all wrong and Gambit doesn't make his cards float with psychic powers. He can only super charge objects with energy.
Gambit knocks Logan thru a wall into the alley.
Proceeds to fight in alley.
Gets knocked out in alley.
Logan concentrates on Victor in the same alley.
Gambit appears running on rooftop several buildings away.
Gambit jumps down into alley that he was KO'd in to continue fighting....
