Here's how God called and showed me that I was to become a missionary. God has a calling/purpose for all our lives. Just ask and see what He says to you!

God distributes His Spiritual gifts as it pleases Him. Just as God chooses who He wants to be a teacher in the church, He also chooses who He wants to speak in tongues. He doesn’t give everyone in the body the same gift. Not everyone will speak in tongues. (It doesn't mean you are not filled with the Holy Spirit)There are many gifts for the many functions of the body of Christ, but each one is for building up and unifying the body of Christ.
I’m so sorry I missed your comment. If you feel He is asking you but aren’t sure just ask God to confirm it in your heart. Ask Him about all your fears and doubts and He will give you an answer to each and every question just like He did for me! I have a later video where I talk about all my hesitations before actually going into the mission field that might help. Also I’m always happy to talk if you want.
I heard Him say it. I describe it like a voice in my head that's my voice but not my voice. Do you hear God? If you don't and want to just ask Him and He will talk to you. I can also email you something on it if that would help :)
Sorry this message is so delayed. So when you first start it was harder for me to get started. I was still trying to control my mouth and what was coming out. But within a month if not sooner I got to the point where I could pray in tongues at anytime. So I guess I would say I can voluntarily speak in tongues at anytime now. And I believe that anyone who wants to speak in tongues just has to ask God like my family did and it’ll happen. They just got to let go. Hope that helps. I have a whole teach8ng on it, talking about controversies etc I can send you if you want.
There are so many bible verses that lots of believers think they understand until the Holy Spirit opens it up to us... it will be so revelatory that our understanding before that revelation will actually become pale in comparison....
