As someone who has played VRChat for six years, I initially thought these spotlights would be bad and out of touch. However, you have opened up new worlds that I really want to explore with others. It makes me want to get back into world-hopping, as in the last few years, I've mostly just been sitting around and chilling with friends.
Head to the Spider-Lair! Currently called The Ultimate Spider-Lair. Full physics based web swinging with loads of mechanics in a scaled down Manhattan.
We are looking at other social VR sites and worlds as well... Just starting with VRChat because it was the most recommended. I'm hoping to also visit some worlds in Horizon and Resonite soon so stay tuned!
I have made quite a few worlds and have even been invited to VRchat's beta creator economy program, but sadly I can't recommend this game. This is coming from someone who has put many hours creating content for the platform, but I feel like it has to be said. Vrchat has a culture issue coming from the employees down. For a game that's advertised as 13+ I can tell you that it's not uncommon to see NSFW content within 5 minutes of launching the game and stepping into any public lobby. But all of that could be excused if there wasn't such a pervasive issue with the grooming of minors and what seems like the employees willingness to turn a blind eye to it and brush it under the rug. Even recently some of the moderating staff were caught creating and using sexualized depictions of minors within the game. Instead of taking a hard stance against this, the employees decided to reinstate them as moderators because they didn't like where the evidence was coming from, even though they openly admitted that these actions had occurred. I really want this platform to do well as it's the best embodiment of what can be done in VR so far, but unfortunately there is a unhealthy culture that pervades the platform and I can't bring myself to use or recommend the game until this issue is addressed and work is being done to correct it.
I completely agree with you on the culture issues... What I am highlighting here is the creations and creators not the platform and I also recommend checking these worlds out in a private instance to avoid issues like that.
