Steve Martin and Martin Short... two of the funniest guys out there.
Seeing their tour would just knock out about half of my Bucket List! I so hope to see the show, it's just a 7 hour drive. Worth it!!
Their night you will forget special was quite forgettable.

I just came from watching a Steve Martin interview with Letterman in 1986, and nearly 30 years later I love Mr. Martin's playfullness. He really knows how to give his interviewers a hard time lol.

Conan is one of the greats in entertainment of his generation. It's fascinating to watch him with the greats from previous generations.
I was a few seconds in when I thought "Look how much more humbly Steve took the applause than Martin Short", then he hit it with the same type of humour and I loved them both as friends even more ahaha

I don't get the joke. What was it?
@@GokulOnFire dude physically walked in and Brand walked out, but Brand likened it to a metaphor as in Steve is retiring/dying (depending on how you look at it) and Brand is coming into the fore. It's funny cause Brand is quick and also slightly rude.
In his early stand-up, Martin used to tell his audience how much smarter he was than them. I don't really know if that means he is actually smart.

@Dantezim1 I used to think Russell Brand was unfunny too, but then I saw him interviewed on Ellen and he actually made me laugh! So I figure he's one of those guys that can be funny in a certain, specific, limited context (such as "Ad-libbing while NOT hosting a show").
Yup, I first thought he was just eccentric but when I saw him talking to Conan and Craig Ferguson and you can see they were trying to keep up with his quick wit - I really began to appreciate him as a comedian. Look for his interview with Conan were he ‘explains’ how monarchy works.

What does the last joke mean
so funny that these celebs actually show up on the beach like its some kind of vacation. it must be something in their contract because i have never found the beach to be interesting in the least. i'll just leave it up to you all if you find it interesting.

Brand's response implies that Martin's fame or career is near the end, while Brand's is just beginning.(Which of course isn't true, but it was a funny reply).

Oh I actually thought it was a "yo mama" joke...
Brand was brilliant off-the-top back in the day...but now he's not as fluid...he's on some weird spiritual trip in interviews...still a beast on stage and still has some off-the-top moments but few and far between
and the worst is...its by choice...he just wants to force some deep and meaningful convo every time...rather than just riff occasionally....
All good with him doing the d&M sh88 off-stage but i wish he would take a break once in a while to just riff

i think Conan and Jimmy Fallon are the only 2 talk show hosts that dont care wether or not their guests are funnier than they are... an asshole like Leno or Letterman would always have to crack some "not so funny joke" every time their guest made the audience laugh
