Michele Newman, the reporter, was on Top Gear from 1993 to 1998. She also presented ITV car program 'Pulling Power'. For that reason I don't think it's Top Gear, also at around 4:05 when she says later in the program there's a brief glimpse of a rotating logo which is not Top Gear but does look like two 'P's rotating and could be Puling Power's badge?
@Nightbird it's never been sold in the states. If you ever see one there you will be looking at a car that is rarer than a mclaren f1 or Lamborghini reventon. Maximum 5 ever slipped through the borders
I think that is really nice. I wish it was brought to the US. I would have bought one. I am hoping there is a new one and brought to the US. I think the Michalak C7 could be a replacement for the roadster. It would be neat to be able to buy the kit and turn my Smart Fortwo Passion into the sporty little vehicle.
+Gus Krough He has actually done a review of it and I clicked this video hoping it to be that one, now I'm disappointed. He liked the Roadster a lot, BTW.
Which model? Cause the 61hp is quicker than the fourtwo gearbox, the 82 even quicker than that, brabus version even better, not to mention that the company handed out an electronic update to further improve the shifting responsiveness.
+Jørgen Fløan (Crikaxs) As a roadster owner, i can say no. It's expensive to insure (was the same price as a 1.8 litre coupe to insure) and it is a bit prone to electrical problems and leaks. Ideal 2nd car I think.

everybody is complaining about the gearbox...Not even the Top Gear guys got an lesson how to drive it...Its semi/half automatic gearbox which means you drive it like a clutch car but without it...so think like you drive an manual car and you will get fast gearchanging.
@@Nickoboss29 no if you get it right. Believe me it's like a "Horse kick" in your back specially the Brabus version even for big foot(50-52 EU), tall dude like me. Leaking is in my opinion the worst thing with this cars. Even when i have the Hardtop on which is far better then the bars..
i had one for 7 years and its was a great car to drive , i miss it so much
Oh yeah. The Ford Street Ka. What a long lived classic that turned out to be.

+Ali Grant It is Pulling Power indeed. Aired in early 2003, just after the car was presented to the international press in Algarve, Portugal.
Love the Smart Roadster. A great driving experience for the price of a cheap family hatchback...

Was expecting a pessimistic review by the infamous Clarkson

Okay.
Atrocious gear change. There's a place reserved in hell for whoever designed that gearbox.
Yimello
I drove a citroen c1 or whatever it was. Similar 1 clutch auto gear system, but felt alot worse.

Can a 6ft 2" person drive one?
+Oddball Yes, they are very roomy
+Richard Bettsworth Got a standard smart in the end loads of room and the new engines are better.
+Oddball I'm 6'4 and fit just about in some and don't in others.... Weird
Oddball
Dunno about feet and inches, but I am 180 cm and I think the limit would be 190 cm in these cars.
