I see that you recommend not fully tightening the top filler cap. I was thinking that a fella could install a small vent in the cap or top of the tank to run a pump and not create a vacuum. Is it fine with the cap just loosened?
Leaving the cap loose does work, just don’t forget it loose before you go off road lol
Creating a vent or even just using a red hot needle to create a pin hole is the better solution
Thanks for this idea. Definitely want to buy it. Any idea of space from tank to tailgate door? Worried about my fridge being able to fit on its slide that forces it to be length wise

On your pump you have adapter on them on the in and out. Share where I can find them at please..
Is the tank not strapped-down or secured in any way? 108lbs can do some damage.
It is sandwiched pretty well between the back seat and my fridge so not much wiggle room. I have always figured the only time that would be an issue is if I roll over, in which case I’ll have bigger things to worry about 😂
Also, it is almost always empty because I don’t like the extra weight. Ultimately I do plan to put a couple of straps over it, maybe if I ever pick up a Goosegear Plate system or something like that 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing the work you've done on your build. We typically plan ahead to share the load among our group. Do you find that with this setup you carry the water for your group and you fill most of your tank? Or do you typically partially fill it mainly for your needs?
Outdoor Adventures Team I typically travel by myself. On my last trip I took I met with a friend and supplied water for both of us at times. Typically, I will carry drinking water separate and the tank is mainly used for cleaning/bathing water so I will make it a priority to fill it before I head out to camp for the night or carry just what I need for a shower or two. Rarely have I had it full and it was only so I could have a long shower for myself and a friend. If the tank is full I can stretch it out for probably 5 days or 2 very long hot showers.
@@KramerJunction That's very cool. Having the necessary amount of water on-board to shower and clean up we bet makes the trips that much more enjoyable. Thanks again for the tip. We're always looking to make staying out longer more feasible and enjoyable.
Outdoor Adventures Team most of my trips are 1 week + so having a hit shower on the go can make all the difference in the world sometimes

Don't you hear the water "moving"all the time when driving???
There are no baffles in the tank so you can definitely hear water moving, but 90% of the time the tank is empty and if I do have water in it it’s usually full, so I don’t ever even think about it. I don’t like carrying the extra weight so I always try to wait till the last minute to fill it 🤷♂️
