After I got my first rack, years back, I never went back. Now I have a rack at my home theater, utility room, and office (mostly networking gear/server/switch/etc). Keeps everything equipment related so neat, saves a bunch of floor space and hassle with furniture and shelves and all that. If you make a change you just get a different rack shelf, all standard sizes. It's a game changer.
I love their stuff! Great quality and endless build combos with the dozens of optional parts. I did my vid series for the build using the smaller enclosed unit, sealed it up with custom silent cooling and the smart lights, then added a control button to the Elite remote :)
@@LifeofBliss Oh I also took out my glass, ran it down to a local tint shop and made it limo smoked - just enough to read the processor display but cut out all the other junk to make it super sleek :)
Thanks man! I've seen yours on your channel a lot, have been wanting once to show off the equipment for a while now! Glass is definitely better than mess...
I've been using my 18U NavePoint enclosed network rack for years now for my AV equipment. It worked nicely to house all my amps for the home theater system and the price wasn't bad either.
I see you have the FP20000Q and the D4-3000 in there. I initially had the FP20K but with my rack kind of backed in to my room it didnt work. Was loud and pumped out too much heat. I now have two 2-channel versions of the D4-3000 from a different manufacturer and it works much better. It still puts out more heat than I'd like but much better than the FP. Anyway, I'm curious what you're using and how its working?
Was the d4-3000 not louder than the FP amp? This one is crazy loud... FP amp isn't terrible in the rack, and I need to do a fan mod still. That'll make it much better
@@LifeofBliss Interesting. I have a D-3302 from CVR. I assumed it was basically the same amp as Sinbosen D2-3500 just from a different company. But mine is way quieter than the FP-20000Q so maybe its a little different. I did a fan mod on my FP also which worked well but the heat was still an issue for me.
@@johnphillips1328 Balanced. I’ve seen people report issues with RCA. But I think most of these pro amps are just not meant to be used with single ended inputs.
It's about 4 inches from the back wall, but the entire back is a solid door, not mesh. It has vents in the bottom and top for airflow. I'll be adding fans to each to push/pull air at some point
I have... I'm honestly debating removing all of the arches and recessed areas on the front wall and doing that. That will be a project for a later time though
@@LifeofBliss Cool, yeah something to keep in mind when time allows. Not sure how deep your room is and how the left side looks, but looking at the angle in this video you could just leave the recessed areas and build a minimal screen wall outward. No need to remove stuff that is getting covered anyways, you could just use that depth for more insulation. You could build them out enough where everything fits as is, but, might make for some good video content to design lower profile boxes to put behind a trick fabric wall. Seems right up your alley.
Soon. Finally getting the theater all in order. I'll give you the super short version, go with an FP clone amp over the D series unless you absolutely need the 1u size factor and the ampmwont be in the same room. It's so much louder than the FP amps... I'll have a SPL meter in the review to show the difference
The FP20q isn't the loud one... that d4-3000 is like an RC plane in the room! It's gonna go soon... getting another FP amp and gonna do the fan mods. They aren't terrible inside the rack, but the fan mod will still help
I'd like to offer you some constructive criticism... it might look aesthetically pleasing but having your centre channel placed the way you have it, you're going to lose nearly all virtualisation coming from that channel.
Love how you added the LED lighting too. The white looks soooo clean.
😉 you know I like my LEDs!
Man if we ever build a new home, I will definitely be going with an AV rack. Would make my life so much simpler.
Definitely a great addition... Yours is great for hiding everything though!

I love that Kyle!!! I have a 42U that fully enclosed. I like the glass doors better than the mesh doors that I have!!! It looks fantastic!

Nice! They make great stuff for the money, had that smaller rack for like 5 years now
Man that is some nice stuff!! Looks are an important part of the whole theater experience.
That looks great! I’m loving the added LED lighting
Thanks bud! Makes wiring in the back so much easier. Plus adds like 7 points to the cool factor 😎 lol
Nice, you use the miniDSP 2x4 HD as well, One of the biggest improvements I have done.

@@danielwander605 are you running fully balanced? I've read that using RCA cables can cause a ticking noise.

Racks like these are designed to have room behind them to allow for ample air exchange, how far from the wall do you have it ?

@LifeofBliss I ended up going with two Marani MDA2-2500Ps for my four 24" Harbottles but have been eyeing a FP14000 for two B&C 21"s.
As us guys would say “Nice rack!” 👌🏾

Still rocking the Zapitti?
Yessir. Haven't upgraded the ui though. Just running it off the Explorer to be honest

Been running it for years now. Pretty happy with the performance. Next step would be a false wall/acoustically transparent screen.
