Nope ! If u want then u could read ...But 11th & 12th ncert u must read it away ..and it will be too sufficient! After you have to go through refrence book like laxmikan, Nitin Singhania, as well as spectrum 🙏
Sir why does aspirants need to study books, i mean there are many institute who provide notes..aren't the notes necessary ?anyone can order the study material online from vision ias,vajiram drishti etc..so why do we need books?this is so confusing

Bro first read PYQ and find answers from the notes of coaching from your friend who is preparing...then you will come to know Reference books are needed or not as they will be useful to understand to concept.

How many subjects to do every day? I’m a beginner and I have started with 1 history chapter and 1 geography chapter + newspaper reading every day. Is this enough?
Wrong Strategy. You have to Stick with one subject and try to finish in a definite time then go for other subject
