This might be a weird take, but if I were a parent, I’d be more open to letting my young kid dye their hair a fashion color(like pink or blue or w/e) as opposed to blonde or something. For a natural color, I’d be kind of worried that my kid was dying their hair out of insecurity or feeling like they needed to adhere to conventional beauty trends, but for funky colors is clearly just fun/self expression. I kinda feel the same way towards like foundation/concealer and like glitter eyeshadow/“fun” makeup.
I guess I'm in between y'all then. I'd have a conversation with my kid(s) about how we shouldn't change our appearance just to fit in but rather because we want to and it makes us feel confident. She let me finally do it when I was in 9th grade and I have only bleached my hair at home and once professionally for hs prom. My hair has not fallen out but I also no longer bleach it and let it grow out.
The biggest issue with bleaching hair, is most people (and even a fair few professionals) think you can bleach from a dark brown or black hair, to a pale blonde in one session, and often neglect to do a test strip to see how the hair will react to the bleach. NEVER let bleach sit for more than 30 minutes even on colored hair, if its not the shade of blonde you want, wait two months, do a second round of bleach with a test strip first (always do your roots last as those will process fastest) then go in with a toning shampoo and conditioner depending on the shade of blonde your going for. Hair dye brands like manic panic and göt2b have beautiful color but fade out faster than say, splat brand dye, but the issue with splat brand dye is its over pigmented, impossiblw to remove the color even with bleach, and alot of their colors even though thet stay vibrant, literally change color during the first two months. Their emerald green turns saphire blue in less than a month and while its really pretty, if your looking for green, you'd be better off buying göt2b as they have gorgeous greens that STAY green and can be somewhat easily removed from your hair without bleach damaging it.
I mean it’s not just over pigmented with Splat, it’s a peroxide based dye that continues to process your hair. It makes it last longer, but is also waaaay more damaging on your hair. There are tons of brands of crème colors that are just direct pigment now that are way better for your hair. Each one has its pros and cons, and some brands are better for certain colors or work better on different peoples hair. I like Iroiro best for neons, manic panic for purples and pinks, attic fox for their crimson, and punky color for pretty much everything else. Punky color has some of the best looking greens I’ve ever used, and their pink lasted the longest when I was working as a swim teacher and in a chlorine pool every day.
my parents hated unnatural colors but still let me dye my hair red, I did it multiple times throughout middle and high school but the catch was I had to pay for it. we (my mom and I) also attempted to kool-aid dye my tips blue once and it came out green and washed out in a week lol. but when I graduated high school, my dad started taking long trips around the country, so I bought my own box dyes in dark colors to have some sort of freedom with my hair. I've had purple and green hair so far, my next plan is to bleach and color it blue
If you wanna do blue(speaking from experience here) get ur hair as light as u can, then tone it with a grey toner before you do blue. Then, get a color deposit conditioner or make sure u don't have hard water bc your hair with turn yellowy over time. I had good results making mine SUPER LIGHT, toning with gray+purple/blue shampoo and then using wella color charm semi in the light pastel blue but idk what shade ur going for. Either way ELIMINATING YELLOW is the biggest obstacle you'll face. good luck on ur rainbow journey 🤞👍😎
God, I want to dye my hair so badly, but my Ma only allows the natural stuff like henna. Yours looks really pretty too, and the colors reminds me of a Scarlet Macaw. I don’t know what colors I would want though, but I know lavender in general looks great on me.

Good parents don't pick favorites. My siblings and I are all treated equitably and none are favored above the others. Unfortunately there are plenty of bad parents out there. :/
@@BldElfPrince works equitably so long as parents recognise their children's talents and gifts, giving time and energy to providing for them (instead of using the "but your brother was sick as a baby," excuse to let him have an ipad at 3 years old, whereas I begged for singing lessons).
This is why, when I have kids, I plan to let them do basically anything to their appearance when they're in school. There'll be a few limits but not many.
If there are limits there is a good reason and it’s explained to them. I hate when parents say “because I said so” instead of “because I cannot see you and you might get kidnapped sweetie”
The spawn point hates the idea of my hair being short ever since she forced me to come out to her that I was trans. Asian mindset. You're going to make yourself stick out more, which could lead to more ridicule, or even worse, affecting the family's reputation as well. As the saying goes, "The nail that sticks out must be hammered down."

I’m 28, married, and still am afraid to dye my hair because I’m scared my family will stop talking to me 😅 Mad respect to you and your sister! Your hair looks incredible! 🌈✨
Are you concerned with the reaction of your nuclear family (husband and kids) or of your extended family (parents and cousins etc.)? If it's your kids, I have to ask how conservatively you're raising them; I find it hard to believe that kids would have a strongly negative reaction to it. Though I might be biased from having a mom who disapproved of hair color (despite regularly dyeing her hair to mask the grey). If it's your husband... I really hope it's not your husband, 'cuz that would be very controlling and a sign of larger problems. Fix the larger problems before worrying about hair dye. If it's your extended family, though, dye just the tips, and see about them getting used to it. If it becomes a huge problem, you have the option of chopping off the tips and getting straight back to your normal color. Those who would ostracize you for adding a little color to your life, though, aren't worth keeping in your life.
I'm 36. I lived my whole life trying to please my family who berated me and parent that hit me. I worked hard and I was never happy. When I was married (after disowned for their own conflicts I didn't created). My parents called me miserable because I didn't have kids then. Anyhow, I tried choosing my own path, and they didn't approve. Mind you, I wasn't an alcoholic, drug abuser or any of that. Fast forward to last year, mom had stage 4 lymphoma. I was BUSY with 1 child, 1 toddler and a baby. My relatives talked so much shit because I wasn't taking care of my mom 24/7. Everything I did was worse than before. Oh and we lost a car in an accident. Anyhow, I stopped caring about how others feel about me. Less weight on my shoulder and I feel free. I recently dyed my hair rose gold and my MIL calls me demonic but I don't care. I'm happy with my choices and less people in my life. Let me put it to you this way, no matter what you do, you will always be a disappointment - you do you
Now I definitely want my hair peach 😂. I guess it's time to use my "18yo who lives away in college" powers to dye my hair without my parents killing me
I could never steal my dad's wallet, because if he didn't know, he would genuinely think he forgot it, and blame himself, and I would feel bad, so I could never 😂
My mom was the opposite. She got me special dyes for dark hair and did it for me. The dye washes out after 20 or so washes, tho. I've done blue twice, purple, and red several times. My mom's also bleached my hair too. Only the bleach was permanent.
my mother was very supportive of my hair journey so atm I'm going neon green is my favourite so far and suits me best but I wanna know what colour i should try going next? I'm currently orange and so far I've gone green and blue as well (never going blue again 😭) I'm not sure how i feel about going pink since I'm not too keen of bright pinks. any suggestions?
This is awesome how supportive your sister is. My parents never allowed me to dye my hair either. Not even a semi permanent hair dye in a natural red tone that would've washed out in 2 weeks. Then one day My best friend's mother told me I could do it in her house if I couldn't do it at my own and she even offered me to stay at their house if things got really bad with my parents❤
I absolutely love you and your sisters relationship. Your sister saw how she could make your dad do things for you that you couldn’t get your dad to do for yourself and she went right along with that plan. It’s beautiful!!!
My dad wouldn’t allow me to die my hair even with hair chalk. We also weren’t allowed to wear makeup, put on temporary tattoos, or get any sort of piercing other than the standard ear piercing. But then he got put in jail for life, now I can die my hair pink like a true rebel 😤
That's...a very euphoric way of saying your sister was the golden child and you were the scapegoat. But I am glad she was on your side and didn't use it to make your life hell.

my parents hated unnatural colors but still let me dye my hair red, I did it multiple times throughout middle and high school but the catch was I had to pay for it. we (my mom and I) also attempted to kool-aid dye my tips blue once and it came out green and washed out in a week lol. but when I graduated high school, my dad started taking long trips around the country, so I bought my own box dyes in dark colors to have some sort of freedom with my hair. I've had purple and green hair so far, my next plan is to bleach and color it blue
Blue is a good color but if you had your hair naturally blonde you go light to medium blue if you had dark hair naturally go medium to metallic blue
Is it like “dyed my hair blue, it turned out a seasick sort of green”
yo mama was tryna help u
Be careful about dying your hair so much. I bleached and dyed my hair a lot in junior high and for the next 2 years my hair felt like dried grass
Strict parenting doesn't work cause your child's just gonna do everything you raised them not to either sneakily under your nose or once they leave.
If anything it'll just make them obsess over it even more
you mean telling your kid you hate them for their sexuality isnt going to make them love you 😮😮😮
God, I want to dye my hair so badly, but my Ma only allows the natural stuff like henna. Yours looks really pretty too, and the colors reminds me of a Scarlet Macaw. I don’t know what colors I would want though, but I know lavender in general looks great on me.
Not only is the color great, but the cut! And the way you styled it is just gorgeous. Love it, love it.
My dad hates anything i do to my appearance. Hair color, tattoos, dressing masculine or tech wear or goth, nail polish even makeup! Any type of self expression i do he openly dislikes and shames me for. Sometimes i feel like I’m walking on eggshells but I’m moving out soon, tattoo here i come
Same, not once did he complement me or my sister. He also calls us whores when wear a little too much blush or a bright lipstick... oh and btw we r in our mid 20's... also moving out soon. 😐 never understood why shitty ppl choose to have kids.
@@zs_886 he compliments me… in ways that are inappropriate for a father to his child. He says he’s being sarcastic when i am disgusted
@@zs_886 i turned 20 last week, couldn’t wait another 5 years, good for you and your sis!
@dusk194 ew gross...let me guess he throws a huge fit when u call him out on it aswell 😒.
Yh we live in London so moving out early was a real struggle. Glad ur moving soon too!
@@zs_886 i see, glad you’re closer to freedom! London is pretty cool
That looks SICK
Your hair look so insanely good!
My mom was against dyeing my hair bright colours, but the moment my grandma was against it my mom went around and dyed my hair lol. I got years of bright colour just because my mom wanted to do something a little spiteful for once lmao. She ended up loving doing it in the end and always enjoyed the artistic expression of figuring out how to put multiple colours on there a d wanted to see what we would come up with next
its insane how favorites work with parents. im glad i was an only child
They say they don't pick favorites but deep down you know that if all of you were dangling off a cliff, you'd be saved last.
Best sister ever fr
Nah my anxiety would stop me from leaving ask. Lol
Just replying to myself. A while ago. I asked and now I have pink hair. Lol
Got to love siblings working together
Honestly. It’s an art💅🏻
Your little sister is a real one 😭
I love this hair color!
NOO I THOUGHT U WERE DOING BLUE FLAMES HAIR AT FIRST AND I GOT SO EXCITED CUZ I USED TO WANT TO DYE MY HAIR LIKE THAT WHEN I WAS YOUNGER 😭😭
@@noahlani6480 Yes, exactly! Kids can understand so much more than is generally thought.
Who asked
@@seareceYou seem like you'd make a fantastic parent. I'm rooting for you.
@@CandlightCrow Thank you so much! ☺️ I do hope I'm a great parent when I have kids.
Ngl super jealous of the style you got going there. The colors and layout are just gorgeous!
The spawn point hates the idea of my hair being short ever since she forced me to come out to her that I was trans. So when I could I would always ask the barber to cut it ever so slightly shorter every time. Worked for a bit and she then refused to let me get my hair cut again after about a year and a half, but yk she’ll let my brother have long locks.
Dw though the stylist accidentally chopped off the most part of my hair… ooh boy was she upset.
I love your hair!!!
I don't understand weirdo parents that don't allow this. My hair was like yours too! Self expression is great
Asian mindset. You're going to make yourself stick out more, which could lead to more ridicule, or even worse, affecting the family's reputation as well.
As the saying goes, "The nail that sticks out must be hammered down."
My mom was the kind of person who let us do anything we wanted with our hair, cuase she loved messing with our hair. And our dad was like your and got mad everytime we did something weird with our hair. But he couldn't do anything cuase our mom would just give him a look and he'd just go be mad quietly on the couch lol
LMAAOO NOT THE PARENTS DYNAMIC IM CRYING LAUGHING this is literally my husband and i with our dogs like ill give them treats and hell be mad bc "youre making them fat" (theyre not) and i just glare at him and he just quietly fumes in the couch
@@lexhdz5803 that's really funny when it's dog parents lol
NAURR MOMS A REAL ONE 💀😭😭👋👋👋
Poor dad
😂 why y'all in my marriage
Literally so smart!!😂 I love your hair and hair color 😍😍❤
The ich in the beginning is so real 😭
I didn’t have super strict parents but stuff around my appearance wasn’t really up to me bc they were super religious. Now I’m the mom to 2 teenagers and I let them do anything they want with their style except for tattoos. My 15 year old wants his nose pierced and I told him to tell me when. There are a handful of things that kids of a certain age (after like 10) should have complete control over; their body, their diet, their privacy. It’s the most basic form of agency that all humans should have once they’re mature enough to understand the choices.
when the golden child uses their power for good
I thought I saw rengoku in the first shot-
It turned out so well!!!! That was also so supportive of your sister!!!!
That's a good sister, and the hair looks great!
The nostalgic Majora's Mask music ✨✨
Thank you!!! I didn’t know where this was from!
Yes, the Deku Palace theme is brilliant
I’m so glad I’m not the only one that noticed!!!!
I was waiting for someone to mention this lol
Reminds me of the video from Linkssword123 called Best Zelda Dubstep # the bass is back #
I love deku palace musicccc
Looks amazing

I love the use of the extra long hair you have. I was worried it'd look weird but the braids(?) look amazing!
Your sister is a real one protect her at all costs
Your hair is like the feathers of a beautiful bird. Amazingly gorgeous. ❤
omg her hair and makeup is so prettyyyyyy!!!!! love it!!
It looks like the colors of a hummingbird, so pretty!
Yes! A beautiful hummingbird!
When the golden child loves their sibling ❤
I love how the sister is all for it and wants to help you❤
Your little sister is the real MVP. 👏👏
Your sister is the sweetest person ever oh my god I wish I had a sister like her😭✋

It worked out well! Love the creativity!
She looks straight like she walked out of some fantasy novel and wields a magic staff-sword that casts the move "dazzling gleam."
And Im all for it xD ❤
Love the Deku Palace theme in the background. It’s that one guy’s dulcimer cover right?
Yes! Dulcimer_gumbo!
LETS GOOOOO A ZELDA FAN THAT REALIZED THIS BEAUTIFUL THEME FROM MAJORA'S MASK!!!!!!!!!!
i heard it and went straight to the comments to see if somebody made a remark 😂 great cover!
I fucking knew it!!!
OMG THANK YOU! I knew it was from zelda 64 but I couldn't for the life of me remember where exactly. It was driving me nuts lmao
Love seeing supportive sisters
When I sometimes think about having children, I hear such stories and like nah,I am good😂
I’m 28, married, and still am afraid to dye my hair because I’m scared my family will stop talking to me 😅 Mad respect to you and your sister!
Let me put it to you this way, no matter what you do, you will always be a disappointment - you do you
Yup, 29 here and I still don't have any of the tattoos that I've wanted for ages because I don't want to be disowned 😂
Your sister is the MVP
Now I definitely want my hair peach 😂. I guess it's time to use my "18yo who lives away in college" powers to dye my hair without my parents killing me
Very pretty and expressive! I love it!
I could never steal my dad's wallet, because if he didn't know, he would genuinely think he forgot it, and blame himself, and I would feel bad, so I could never 😂
Your sister is a real one for that that’s actually really nice
Black mailing haha I love it
Aw, that's such a sweet sister you have ❤
My mom was the opposite. She got me special dyes for dark hair and did it for me. The dye washes out after 20 or so washes, tho. I've done blue twice, purple, and red several times. My mom's also bleached my hair too. Only the bleach was permanent.
That hairstyle screams the main character. I'm here for it. 🙌💘
I LOVE your hair, and your taste in music c:
That hair design is so cute
my mother was very supportive of my hair journey so atm I'm going neon
green is my favourite so far and suits me best but I wanna know what colour i should try going next? I'm currently orange and so far I've gone green and blue as well (never going blue again 😭)
I'm not sure how i feel about going pink since I'm not too keen of bright pinks. any suggestions?
I mean, neon red could look good? Like a lightsaber red color :)
We love when the favorite children stick up for the others
Your sister is so kind and the end result was amazing!
love the background music! Deku palace! And that loop!! OMG!!! amd u look great, girl!
That hair style looks SOO good.
It’s beautiful!!!
dude your hair literally looks so good I'm in love fr
I LOVE your hairstyle! And that was so sweet of your sister to do that
Her little sister is a real one! 👏 😂❤
i love how the colors turned out
i've only ever dyed my hair black, red, purple, blue, strawberry blonde and done highlights from 14 to 23 yrs old
That’s so sick. It’s like tie dye almost. It suits you very well.
bro you're sister is the real G
How is stealing okay??? Is there something I'm just not getting here????
@@camman18scat99You won’t get it until you’re restricted from freedom of expression yourself.
@@camman18scat99 same, like im hoping all the people here are like 12 bc damn they have some moral issues
@@camman18scat99 same tho, you shouldn't steal from your parents under any circumstances.
@@breanda I'm exactly 12🤣
My dad wouldn’t allow me to die my hair even with hair chalk. We also weren’t allowed to wear makeup, put on temporary tattoos, or get any sort of piercing other than the standard ear piercing.
But then he got put in jail for life,
now I can die my hair pink like a true rebel 😤
That's...a very euphoric way of saying your sister was the golden child and you were the scapegoat.
But I am glad she was on your side and didn't use it to make your life hell.
Omg that looks amazing 🤩
