    Most home burglarlies actually happen during the day, (between 10am and 3pm to be precise according to a quick internet search). I believe the reasoning is because people are at work or out doing things during these times. Burglars know that people are home at night, so its far easier to burglarize when no one is home. Thank you for the videos.

    What would be cool is a motion sensor that would trigger indoor lights when the system is set to 'away'.
    First if would trigger exterior lights, as normal. After about 20-40 seconds, it would start triggering interior lights, as if someone is awake, and approaching to investigate.

    Great stuff man! I️ have two Nest outdoor cams on order now for my front yard and I️ am going to get the cheeper Argus 2 cameras for my backyard. I’m also in the process of getting my house well enough lit. I️ don’t live in a bad area but have had our van broken into twice and enough is enough. I️ bought the Nest Cams because I wanted the 24/7 recording. Your videos have been such a great help and I really appreciate all of your hard work. Best wishes to you and your family!

    I have the Honeywell programmable light switch, and love it. I can program it any way I want, and that's it. They're used for the front, from dusk to dawn and it has automatic DSL adjustment. The backyard, I've programmed differently and love it. Thinking about the solar ones for at the far end of the yard that opens up to forested area. Another good security idea, is using driveway alert system that you can expand and place various sensors around the property.

      :) My nest cameras are "nesting" just because they haven't done anything about their notification delay. Actually, when I made this video, my Nest Hello has been in my back patio door but I didn't include it because I was only doing it for testing so I can do the update video which I uploaded last week. You will not get disappointed with the Wyze cam.

      I just got the WYZE cam pan today so far I like it. I didn't expect the video quality but is good. I planned to put it on a window facing outside but when night vision activates the light from the camera it reflects the window makes the camera blind. Since its not for outdoor use I intend to mount it inside but facing outside lol.. Thanks for replying bro, been watching your channel about security features in the house.!

    Great video. I live in a neighborhood with nice houses, but very poor lighting. I just ordered a bunch of the solar led lights, made by the brand Litom. I the siding on my house is made of wood and I don't want to put screws of nails through it. Would you recommend the double sided tape? How would I uninstall a light that was mounted with the tape though? Would it be very difficult?

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  5 лет назад

      Double sided weather resistant mounting tape. You will be able to take it off by running a string at the backside and with a sawing motion to cut through the tape.

    • @CW-eg7wd

    I have the same issue as you (the camera angling down the side of the house) and at night my camera (Arlo Pro 2) is useless. I just bought the Arlo security lights to help with this issue, but I don't think it's going to help much if any with my issue. The solar lights you posted look promising and I believe I will try them. I wish i could post a pic here from my Arlo camera to get your opinion.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  5 лет назад

      Yes, the solar lights works pretty good. The Arlo's night vision tends to wash out at night. The Arlo lights actually will help a bit but not much and they are expensive.. I was able to purchase a 3 pack though for 99 bucks at Best Buy last week's sale... It is still en route but I'll be comparing the lights when the Ring lights comes out.

    • @BeW23
      @BeW23 5 лет назад

      LifeHackster I bought the same 3 pack for $99 as well from Costco, but I think I’m returning it.. I think they would work well in a smaller confined area, but I need lighting to extend the length of my house in the back which is a much bigger area and the Arlo lights are just not bright enough. I’m ordering some of the solar lights and I’m hoping they will do the trick.🤞🏼

    how long have you been using the solar powered motion lights on the side of your house and do you like them so far? i've been tinkering with mr beams and their different lights, the MB371 is the bang for the buck, has the most sensitive motion but a slightly dimmer led compared to others. i got them at home depot on clearance for $15/ea. mr beams i heard was bought out by ring, so ring is using the communicating technology to turn on other lights and activate video recording when one detects motion, such as driveway/walkway lights, etc.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  5 лет назад +2

      I had them for a month now and they worked pretty good. I'm going to check out Mr. Beams in the near future but these solar lights are pretty decent and I don't have to deal with the batteries. Thanks for the info on Mr. Beams and Ring...now, I know why Ring named their upcoming outdoor lights "Ring Beams". I'm waiting for that also together with their indoor cams to come out.

    Are you going to do an update video on the Ring battery spotlight cam? I bought a Argus 2 over the Ring (on your word sir!) and I have to say I'm impressed with the Argus 2. Quite a camera for a battery/solar powered job. On that same note, do you mix and match any of the Reolink wireless cams with your NVR and POE setup? Have you ever tried the wireless Reolink cams?
