We stayed overnight at this Flying J in Balgonie, Saskatchewan... but in the morning we were told we weren't welcome. "We only allow trucks to stay," we were told.
So we headed back up the highway a little ways to White City and they were kind enough at the Co-op gas to let us stay for a few days. It's a beautiful little town and the people were all very friendly, which is always a good thing. According to "the Wiki" - "White City is primarily populated by people who commute to work in Regina. Its motto is "Your Way of Life". " The population is about 3,800.
Just for a bit more information about the town - "White City began on 80 acres (32 ha) owned by Pilot Butte resident Johnston Lipsett. The community organized as a hamlet on April 26, 1959. It incorporated as a village on March 1, 1967 and then as a town on November 1, 2000. The community was named after White City, London, England when John Kadannek, a local store owner, persuaded Lipsett to name it for the home of his favourite aunt."

Funny that you should mention the water, reminds me of crossing the country a long time ago. After one taste of the water in someplace, Alberta, I turned into a camel and didn't have a drop until we got to Manitoba. It was quite a shock after being used to good water in BC. Do you remember if we could buy bottled water back around 1970?

Yeah... different places have different water, that's for sure. We've been quite lucky filling the tank because we've gotten decent water so far.
As for when bottled water came out... I don't remember bottled water being a "thing" in the 70s. I know I never carried a bottle of water... or drank bottled water... in those days. Aquafina, for instance, started in 1994 and Dasani came out in 1999. I do remember that Perrier came to Canada sometime in the 70s. Never did like that stuff. LOL I think carrying around bottled water became really popular with the advent of the "yuppies" in the 80s.
