Beverly (Lea Thompson), coming out of her concert, is harassed by two men. She tries to struggle in vain. Howard witnesses the scene and decides to help her by practicing kung fu. To thank him, Beverly proposes to him to come with her.

Howard is pretty strong though and knows martial arts. He's able to take on dangerous villains, including a professional wrestler in one of the Howard the Duck comics and Howard won, so Howard's skill is nothing to scoff at anyway.
