- this is the original version of the song made much more popular by Eric Martin (Mr Big). Martin's voice just doesnt suit the song IMO...Myles Hunter owns this tune. Saw no one had posted this yet and was shocked. From their 1985 album Affairs In Babylon. Long forgotten act, just goes to show Canadians are very poor self promoters. So many great Canadian rock bands like these guys have been completely forgotten. Meanwhile, Eric Martin still tours and sings this song. Travesty. After he hung his rock and roll shoes up, Hunter ended up being ordained as an Anglican Minister in Canada.
It is sooooo sad that the band didn't make it! They had classy songs, good production and fabulous musicians!
The most underated Band in Canadian History!!!!
+Roger Koomen agreed
Need them on spotify. I found this record for a buck and it is so incredible
I use to rehearse beside them at Falcon studios. Amazing guys. Taught us so much
Hell, 1986 when music was hot, not like this today radioshit.
I fell in love with the album when these guys were still called the Michael Fury Band. I've looked everywhere for it, but can't seem to find it without paying a small fortune for it. :(
Nah, Eric Martin kills it. No comparison. These guys get props for writing a great song though. I just found out it was a cover by discovering your vid.
I have to agree. Eric Martin does the better version. Jim Jidhed also covers it, but Martin kills it.
Not sure if you ever spent a Smokey night in a Canadian Bar in the 1980''s not even Close Refugee were f&^king Amazing
No way not even close l
@@rogerkoomen9026 well, you're right... I never spent a smokey night in a Canadian bar, but I do have ears, and Martin's version is SO much better than this one. Eh!
@@davidwright8371 right?! Martin's is WAY better. 🤣
If they don't.want to be forgotten, why are they not touring anymore? No points for complaining about not getting noticed when you're in hiding all the time yourself.
Hey GOA stalker! Heard that conference with HR went well. PS Charlie got a really good laugh out of you being held accountable at work for your stupid behaviour. Have a COVID filled Xmas, troll! cheers :-)
@@coldistheshoulder What are you talking about? Are you mistaking me for somebody else? Thanks for worrying but Covid isn't too bad where I live, so I think I'll be OK. I'm surprised by the triggered response. If you don't want to be hurt, you shouldn't write hurtful things yourself.
The band broke up, went their separate directions and the reverend Myles hunter passed away a few years back
I just realized that after 31 years !
I'm sorry, but these guys sound boring and the singer has no passion. Eric Martin nails this song. That's why they used his version in Iron Eagle.
Listen to the whole Record Hammer horse...
To put it simply, this is the one I would like to sing to. Eric martin gave it the groove it was missing.
