these are the videos we want to watch, honest, realistic, imperfect, in such videos we find ourselves, family people who despite everything live a parallel ultra life which is not easy, keep it up no other way, congratulations. My recommendation Istria by UTMB 🇭🇷
Damn man that opening monologue was amazing and hits close to home where your head is at with yourself. A perfectionists mind riddled with anxiety is what I live, but I end up with analysis paralysis. At least you're doing it
👍 Thanks for taking us along and a big WELL DONE for finishing the race and bothering to make the video. I know this situations all to well when things go wrong: as a Runner and as a RUclipsr 😅
Congratulations for your race, well done💪. Great video, love the intro! Everyone who has ever been running Ultras could relate to it, keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing this! I am also nervous before a race, even a much smaller one. It's interesting to see the crowd in another country too. You did great!
Brilliant Color match - shoes, jacket, buff, shades AND at last the medal 😊 I had the same mind struggle during my marathon, it’s a interesting part of running. Nice vid 🎉
Top work, really enjoyed the video. Well impressed you finished the ultra in those conditions! I'd love some insight into how you train for these events- a week of training video would be very cool
Well done! Enjoyed to watch that. The scenery is a lot like my location in Norway. 65 k is too much for me🙂 Did a marathon a few weeks ago, that's my limit for sure😂
Very interesting, I'm trying to get into ultra running did my first half marathon a month ago. So seeing you also suffer at the 21km mark gives me a great understanding of what it actually requires to complete an ultra marathon. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Great race video. 👍🏻 Congratulations on a perfect performance! 🤘 I ran the same K65 route and fortunately reached the finish line within 8 hours before the rain. 🙏 A runner once asked me during a race why I carry so much water that it slows me down too much. And it was this excess water in the hydropack that helped me a lot at the penultimate aid station, where water and other fluids ran out.
Thanks! I actually had 2l of fluid on me. 1l water +1l with electrolytes. In the end I should have brought my own electrolyte tabs to mix with more water. Didn't expect this issue 😅
Hey Tim, watching this I thought of my Cortina experience from last year and the kinds of things that go through your mind running tough ultra's, not always pretty but that is part of the attraction. Well done !!
Hey Ian! Thanks a lot for the kind words and support. Keeping it real is what it's all about! Sharing my journey with awesome people like you makes it all worthwhile.
Dude, at about @20:00 I take a bow and give my respect. And want to give you a hug, but you probably smell like like ****. I would at least after such an effort 😁 Nice recap, and I have the feeling we will meet someday during one of these runs. Hope you recovered well.
I'm sure that if this was someone else's race report you would have loved it like we do. You may look tired in the end, but if my ultra experiences are anything to go by you probably felt a lot more tired than you looked. 😂 I got the ultra itch now. Training went to shit this winter and I decided to go with it and have a year of not so intense training. Try to let go of some of the internal pressure to always do more. The downside is no ultra shape for a while.
I totally get it. I must admit, that in retrospect, I might have been able to get the same result with less training. I focused a little too much on distance and time on feet, and too little on quality workouts, such as uphill intervals as well as more race-specific sessions such as speed hiking. As a family man, I should have used my time more wisely. Oh well, we all learn. What I wanted to say, is that even if you feel out of shape, ultras really are doable for "average" runners like me.
@@TDMiller My best shape is just barely Ultra doable. 😂 What I lack is really what you just said you focused on, time on feet and distance. To be honest I think your focus sounds about right. I would consider the other stuff icing on the cake. Great job anyway in both training and the race!

Super refreshing to see an authentic race beginning to end and learn from the way things went for you in this race. Thanks v much for sharing!
Really enjoyed that. Well done, TD 👍🏻🏃♂️
This was a unique and artistic race recap. Looking forward to more documentation of your running journey!
Man oh man ! I really enjoy this video…more like these pls 😁🤙 Awesome Job man 🎉

Thank you for sharing, Timothy!! We all have struggles in long races. I really enjoyed your story and the beautiful course.
Congrats TD! It's such a great video! Thank you for sharing your race!
Keeping it real. Nice video and congrats on the race. I bet there were plenty of folks that threw in the towel that day.
Well, I enjoyed the video! I enjoyed the trails, narration, and the journey.
Top work, really enjoyed the video. Well impressed you finished the ultra in those conditions!

Nicely done! It was great to follow along and see parts of that race.
Thanks for your vid man. I really appreciate it. I'm gonna run this race as my first ultra this May, and got a pretty good idea what to expect.
That's awesome. That's the reason why I started making these vids! Good luck and have fun!
thats awesome and your reasons for running I find is most peoples reason
One aid station at a time, ain't this a way!

The half marathon is also kinda my favourite racing distance and it's always around that point where I struggle to keep focused. 😅

Loved this video … sorry it took me so long to view ! Epic stuff
Once I wish to do this Ultra, I checked it out earlier this year. It looks scenic and amazing :) Well done for completing it.
Great video! I do this race next year. I subscribe to your channel. All the best, Hannes
Thanks for the sub! It's a great race and excellently organised. Highly recommended. Good luck!
Nice filming, really enjoyed it! Would you run the Mont Blanc boa next race, same character or chose another shoe?
great stuff, way too fight to the finish
Good stuff and great job, thanks for sharing your journey, this was perfect the way it was, this is the real shit
Hey Ian! Thanks a lot for the kind words and support. Keeping it real is what it's all about! Sharing my journey with awesome people like you makes it all worthwhile.
Where are u from? I really like ur accent. Congrats on your finish!
Thanks! I am British, born and raised in the Netherlands and live in Germany, so I probably have a whole mixture in my accent 😅
Good Video. Congrats!
No soda at last aid station -FAIL

6:03 What compression bag is that?
Sea to Summit Ultra Sil Drysack 2l. I can totally recommend!
@@TDMiller How is it so flat? It looks like vacuum bag...
😂😂
