  • I hope you enjoy following along on this journey to refurbish a 60 year old leather belt. This State Trooper belt is very important to the daughter of a past emergency response officer. This Pennsylvania State Trooper Belt was worn by a veteran of the Korean War. When he was done serving his country, he returned to Pennsylvania to serve again as a State Trooper.
This leather belt was part of his uniform while being a Pennsylvania State Trooper. When his daughter moved out to go to college she swiped the leather belt to have a part of her father’s history with her in life.
The belt was beginning to crack, split, and just starting to fall apart. The belt also needed to be longer. In this video you are able to follow along and see the steps that I took. The closing clip was emotional when the belt was returned to its current owner.

Nice work Robert..well thought out restore..is there any special care taken to apply resolene..thank you for sharing.

Thanks. I was careful when applying Resolene two reasons. The first is that my experience is that the first coat needs to be worked into the belt evenly. If not then it can have uneven streaks. The other reason is because the lady wanted to preserve the natural look from decades of use. The Resolene would have restored much of the new belt look. Thanks for watching and being a Subscriber!
