I've had a 18v AEG chainsaw for about 3 years now. good for any branch as big as your arm and handy for tree limb/shrub clearing around the yard...not enough oomph for tree felling and dry log cutting without straining it. Definetly worth considering on long camping trips or unbeaten track work.
You went to a lot of trouble there mate in making a list, finding the items and then wrapping every one! The choices were sensible and no one should complain if they received it/them. ( Except maybe the rusty used Kings gear). 🙈 Thanks for doing this; it’s a first for me to see it done on RUclips! Cheers 👍🏻🙏🦘
Consider carrying a small cake cooling rack to use with the billy. Lay the billy on its side, insert the rack so it's near the bottom. You now have a camp oven with a front-facing removable door.
A good list to give people ideas. Nice one. As for me, it seems I'm blessed, as I have all the gear (some even identical) on your list, except for two. A billy and a fishing rod.. And instead of having a bow saw, I have a pair of Silky Saws. The Bigboy and Pocketboy. I find them more capable and more compact than any form of manual saws. Have a Happy Christmas and a Safe New Years.
Nice options but I got 2 more. 1. rattle gun/impact driver, every car person should have one 2. a good quality pocket knife/ leatherman/ hunting knife. having a really sharp and durable knife is worth every penny plus a sharp knife is a safe knife
Yes and it is a great thing, but we only have used it around the house and it cuts a full bar of wood when you need it to. The battery holds charge really well.
Some great options there. I love my hotplate and use it all the time. Good idea with the first aid & snake bite kits. A PLB is something I hope to get soon as I do a bit of bush walking when out camping or just need to get out of the house.
Well done Patrick. Great ideas for making life so much easier and fun for camping/4x4ing. Seasons greetings to you and your family and friends mate. Cheers
Original topic mate, right now there are thousands of people scratching their heads on what to buy for their camping family members and friends. Good content.
Great gift ideas Patrick, I have some but not all of them.....mmmmm now where's my xmas wish list lol so I can prominently display it inconspiciously like! hahahhaa
Ps our stuff is makita and we also have a whipper snipper, drill ,impact driver, tyre pump plus the chainsaw and only have 2 batteries with no problem.
Man i have cut some timber with my electric, i have 4 petrol units all pro level from pole to mega grunt, but i love my electric. I use the Ryobi with two batts, they are awesome, they are supper reliable, safe and quiet, I only want smalls for camping but i have cut over a ton for the home. Carry a few chains so you sharpen once for a trip. I use a hand file to sharpen and they cut perfectly. Ok its the green monster but comes from the same stable as Milwaukee, and AEG. Its a tough little unit and my mates have the same so we share batts. I usually prefer Bosch but they dont make one. Also consider the range of Ryobi that would be great camping. Great content Pat as usual.
Top video mate! I've got a AEG electric chainsaw and its been bloody awesome! Great for in the truck and stops any chance of getting fuel all through the floor
@@AussieArvos Definitely worth getting, we did a month long tour around the south island over here in NZ and it was worth its weight in gold. Obviously never going to be as grunty as a petrol saw but for track clearing and cutting up firewood it was perfect saved me a lot of time behind the axe that's for sure!
✔️✔️✔️ G'DAY MATEY 👍 That head torch is ( okay Hmmmm). But on eBay theirs A new kid on the block. It a (led) about 150mm strip, with a spot light on the side, and 4 different settings and USB charging. EXCELLENT. ✔️✔️✔️USE IT FOR 2 MONTHS GOING TO CAPE YORK # EVERY DAY#. You will throw yours away 😃
Hi Allan, you should be able to easliy run it off a 240v inverter! just get basic duel battery setup and have it run a 240v inverter so you can power the cpak
Anyone got an electric chainsaw? i'd love to hear your experiences!
I've got a makita 36v it's mint. Just as good as the old sthil 023 I have.
I have a Milwaukee sawzall
I've got the larger RYOBI One Electric Chainsaw.
It does incredibly well lopping over smaller trees, and good wood. Also clearing dead fall of tracks

Got the makita 36v 300mm bar, great saw taken to the high country and was great for cutting big logs
Got a ryobi brushless chainsaw. Had it for about two years and has never let me down and for the price you can’t go wrong. Perfect for camping trips👍

Thanks Patrick,
I’ve asked Santa for a wheelbarrow.
I would 100% recommend the cordless chainsaw. I bought one and now it lives permanently in my car.
Let’s so gum ??!!!
I'd be happy with both tanks full of diesel for xmas 😅 $$$
How did you wire up the dash cam to the atoto I am running the same head unit in my gu patrol
Just using the andriod VIOFO app on the headunit!
