I'm not a Spurs fan or any fan at all and can't explain why I started to listen in on this podcast, but I was so pleasantly surprised at the maturity of comment and the in-depth analysis of team dynamics. Congratulations on the good job you are doing with the "show". I also have to say that your segment on mental health and the positive and pragmatic steps you are taking to help people with significant issues deserve a huge amount of praise and support. Lastly, it's quite clear that all of you must have parents who are proud of you.
@@ianwilson8759 thanks Ian, kind of you to say. Lovely to have you tuning in and getting some enjoyment from Spurs even though you are not a supporter. Maybe we need to recruit you as a fan 😜 COYS
Ange had a game against Aberdeen in his first season where he was battling against fans starting to turn against him. It was 0-0 for a while until a late winner. From then on, Ange never lost in the league i think for that season.
Excellent pod per norm. Ben's appearance & input highly valued. Thanks for graciously responding to my question confirming that we're still in for powerful stuff from that engine room. More partial vindication than revenge. Ange knows there is still a major stream of work to be done with this squad. But as with the first year at Celtic, once the gears seamlessly engage, the team goes up a level. I feel we are nearly there.
I actually feel like that too. I think there may still be a few more bumps. But if we stick with this project I think we are going places. It feels like the machine is starting to click into gear.
Brennan getting over-criticised by our own fans -> Manager vocally and publicly stands up for him -> Brennan scores in next two games in a row. I wish people could just see that actually supporting our players though difficult periods will be better for not just them, but all of us.
I do think there comes a point when being over criticised become abuse, 'onya Ange for standing up for the young guy. Ange In COYS!!.........The Aussie Spurs Fan.
Constructive criticism is fine as long g as it’s focused on the game but crossing to a level where a young adult has to delete his social accounts is just abhorrent

At Celtic, Ange only used one inverting wingback Greg Taylor on the left. Johnston or Juranovic was more of the touchline right back as the Right Side Wingers like Jota tend to cut in more while Left Side Wingers like Maeda will hug the touchline more.
Ange showed at Celtic he loves his WIDE players to play WIDE. And it is responsible for one wit in a phone in to say that if he played Jota any wider he would finish up in the stand with the crown!! Ange In COYS!!.........The Aussie Spurs Fan.
Been watching your Pod for a few months now and i really enjoy your balanced views on Spurs. Feeling like i need this ( in what seems like a sea of negativity online). Thankfully the fans in the stadium showed their support for our great club on Saturday and the naysayers cant argue with that!! Lets all get behind the team on Thursday. TO DARE IS TO DO!!
An over reaction to the start does deserve a counter reaction. Fully deserved result that adjusted to what Brentford brought. The main thing the good performance has done is put the trolls back in their box. Great confidence for the team ahead of ManU away and Brighton. A couple more good performances and the spursodrama can direct their energy behind Ange and the team. It shouldn’t be so brittle but Ange is the manager to get the club out of the shadow of the past. COYS.
Ange used a 10 as a 6 in macgregor at Celtic. In his first season, he played either with a double pivot with callum and nir bitton, rogic as the 10. Then in the second half he played callum at sole 6, oreiley a 10, hatate at 8, rogic as 10. Second season with mooy in he played mooy as a 6/8, with callum moving into a 6/8 position. Rotations are impt. So he played with either single/double pivot and with zero-two tens. Often dictated by the full backs or defenders he deploys
Yeah he mentioned before he likes different types of players for different positions. So example at Celtic he had Kyogo which is more like a pressing forward, then his second choice either GG or Oh was more of a Target Man. He played a 4-4-2 on I think at least three occasions before where he played a double pivot of Hatate and Macgregor to accommodate both GG and Kyogo. Kyogo then dropped back to cover like a false nine. So to those who says Ange only have a tactic, they might be a bit too off haha. He had been coaching since he was like in grade school. Won the grade school champs as the head coach.
Super episode, lads. Ben is another coup of a guest. Really enjoyed all your insight and looking forward to the next pod already. Up the Spurs. PS Q for a future pod. What is the B&W picture on Si’s wall. Looks like it could be Ange emerging from the mist to hunt down the Johnson trolls?
I've recently started listening to this pod, and I'm a big fan of the adult reactions and interesting perspectives. Definitely in my rotation now Having Big Benny Bowman on is just a bonus Keep it up lads ⚪️🐓
Brilliant Game on saturday. Ange Tweaked. Game was reminiscent of 23/24 Pre season, and first 10 games. Maddison had more room midf,as the left back was less inverted. More more, howd youd like it 👏👏👏👏
Bentancur shouldn't get any more than a one game ban. There is a precedent with Bernardo Silva's tweet to Benjamin Mendy. Certainly, if he gets anything over a 3 game ban we should appeal. As much as he shouldn't have said it, there was absolutely no malicious intent.
Yes, Ange is definitely adapting the system to circumstances - again, this is nothing new if you've followed his career for a few years - he played an asymmetrical wing-back arrangement, with more press on the left and counter attack on the right. Principles-based play is not rigidly dogmatic practice. And finally, don't believe everything Ange says. He's a cunning old bugger. 😏
Revenge. You guys are coming first for shots on target, crosses in the box, possession, and passes in the box. The revenge is on the clubs fan base for not backing him. Everyone else knows your club is the best to watch. Teams like Arsenal have to park the bus and hope for a set piece goal.
If you look at the past eight seasons, Spurs have made the top four (champions league) a total of 4 times. Man Utd have also made the top four 4 times. However Arsenal only made the top four 2 times, the last two seasons. Prior to that they went SIX SEASONS IN A ROW without a higher finish than 5th. How can their stupid supporters claim they have been better than Spurs over this period. Why are Spurs being criticised when Arsenal and Man Utd have been no better in the Premier League.
This year is a new team isn’t it.. but if you want to do a last season look back under Ange - Spurs beat: Liverpool, United, Newcastle, Villa. Only against city and Arsenal did they not.

I think it is going to be anywhere from 6-12 according to most reports unfortunately.
Yeah, because it is an aggravated charge due to the racial nature, unfortunately, if upheld, it will likely be a minimum 6 game ban.
Vic has also been added to the senior players group.
All this plus , if I'm not mistaken , no injuries to keep anybody out for the next 3 months ? a rare occurrence. even our luck is improving.
