The Alien Attack Ride in Beverly Hills Cop 3 is the Earthquake attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood on the studio tour. It’s based on the 1974 disaster movie Earthquake starring Charlton Heston.
"Axel, you on a coffee break?...go get that s.o.b." Believe it or not, I still like this movie. Sure, it's not good like the first two movies, but it has some moments that I can tolerate.
Yeah this movie is one of those so bad its good. Its trash but the things that happen in it are bad enough to make you laugh at the sheer audacity that is this piece of film.
Actual quote from Eddie Murphy on whether he'd work with John Landis again after fighting on COMING TO AMERICA, six years before reuniting for BHC III: "Vic Morrow (the actor who Landis killed with those two kids on the TWILIGHT ZONE movie) has a better chance of working with Landis than I do.”
As a kid, I was pestering my parents to joining a video club (where they posted you VHS tapes every month) JUST because I wanted to see this and 'Robocop 3'... when I finally saw them on TV I understood why they said no.
Just a reminder that director John Landis was directly responsible for the deaths of 3 people on the set of the Twilight Zone movie and should never have been allowed to direct ever again. “But he made Michael Jackson’s Thriller afterwards! And Coming to America! Those are iconic!” I’m sure the loved ones of Vic Morrow and those two children would appreciate that counter argument…
Yeah,it was tragic, some times you have ( as an actor ) to think of your safety first and say no to certain situations that are dangerous for you. Just say-NO.
I'm sure other directors could've taken over Thriller & Coming to America. But I don't think there's ever been a punishment that prevents a filmmaker to direct again other than being in jail. The most that one can say is that Landis probably changed his ways afterwards even though he can't bring back those three innocent souls.
You guys should review Beverly Hills Cop 2 to have all four covered. It should make an interesting review--it's the installment that has the most mixed reception.

Alien Attack is the old Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour. They used the 'Earthquake' portion of the tour and added Cylons from Battlestar Galactica.
That song in the car chasing scene in this film is called "Keep The Peace" from INXS, but it was a remixed version. Also, the production quality of this film was lackluster compared to the previous films because Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson weren't the producers for the third film.

I always thought it was a missed opportunity in the sequels to not have axel go to different places. Like call the sequel New York Cop and have it take place there or London cop and do the whole fish out of water American in a foreign country where cops have less guns! How wacky! Trying to do the fish out of water thing in the same place with the same character over and over just doesn't work.
What wouldve been a funny, yet dark humor moment is if before Axels boss had his last breath, he started cursing and dropping F bombs and chewing Axel out for not calling Swat.
