I have several questions regarding the blessing of sacramentals: 1. (a) Does a specific blessing need to be imparted on different sacramentals? (b) Can we get all of our sacramentals blessed at once, including different types, such as a St. Benedict Medal, Miraculous Medal, and a Rosary? 2. What should one do if they are unsure whether the sacramental has been blessed? In such a case, would it be okay if it is blessed a second time? 3. Have the wordings/norms for blessing sacramentals changed in the wake of Vatican II? 4. Is there a normal kind of compensation that one would give to the priest in return for his blessing(s)? A detailed treatment of this topic is found in Chapter 11 of the Rituale Romanum (www.sanctamissa.org/en/resources/books-1962/rituale-romanum/), along with the prayers for the blessing of both general and specific items. In the meantime, Catholics who have recourse to truly traditional priests are happily relieved of the burden of all these important questions, since a properly trained priest will know how to respond in each instance. A stipend would probably always be welcomed and appreciated by the priest, but it may not be expected for blessing sacramentals. Certainly when a Sacrament is specially administered for the benefit of a particular person or family (such as Baptisms and weddings or the priest's daily Mass intention), a stipend would be expected. There is nothing wrong with asking for a blessing on items more than once. If there is a doubt, it is best to be sure.

It is necessary for the items to be present before the priest in order for him to bless them. Perhaps you can find a chapel of the Society of St. Pius X that is still open in your vicinity. No, but that impression might be given at times. In a live video presentation such as of a newly elected Pope, people watching throughout the world will cross themselves as a blessing is given, but the television serves only to communicate the time of the blessing, not the blessing itself.
@@jamie7880 It would certainly be appropriate in the case of a newly elected Pope's blessing, which would be seen in a live broadcast and which could be presumed to be intended to apply to Catholics throughout the world. Otherwise, such as when watching a pre-recorded Mass or other event in which a blessing is imparted, we are always free to cross ourselves and to beg God's blessing, even if there is no actual priestly blessing taking place.
