Well, while we're confessing stuff. When my Grandmother passed, I took on the task of putting together a tribute video/slideshow. I was in a time crunch, so I didn't have time to edit in music-meaning I could listen to my own playlists while editing. My Grandma had lots of nicknames for her grandchildren, and one of them was "Sugar." So lo and behold, in the middle of putting together this video, "Sugar" from the No New World album plays and completely destroys me (even more so than I was already feeling). My feelings were heightened because it's one of the few Japanese songs I vaguely understand the meaning of.
Aoi Koi is certainly one of my favourite songs of all time, that second build-up into an explosion of emotions is insane, it always makes me tear up when i listen to it.
I started learning Japanese last year and can read in Hiragana and Katakana now. Currently Learning the 2600 Kanji and hope to be qualified as N1 in linguistic proficiency. It was the first language I decided to learn from my natural born English. I would say I'm about n3 in proficiency, I can understand the lyrics and these chorus's just hit right.
