@absinthedream9668 I had a Quick Look, there’s still one on the Gold Coast (Elanora)
Wendy's Milkshake and Ice Cream is a completely different entity. We had them in NZ too.
Hopefully they come to Canberra
lol
DO they have the beef chilli like they did in the old days?
Yep! I should check it out.
Thank you for your sacrifice
Thank you 😅
It's not the first American Wendy's in Australia, there use to be loads back in the 70s and 80s, this is basically a reopening, not a first at all in Australia.
he said that
@@wilddekardde Yep, but Wendy's seem to be hiding that fact with their false advertising about it being the "first."
More than likely a lot of the new generation wouldn't even know that it's been here before.. I was born in the 80s and didn't know they were here before now.
Waiting for a Victorian store to open.
@@theurbanyouth it is the first store as their is no other stores in australia as they closed them all down in 1980s
this video reminds me of the very first day mcdonalds opened in the ussr, the lines were a couple of kms long and people waited to taste a piece of freedom and democracy even if they had to spend a whole days wage for a burger and fries 😭😭
Hahaha, maybe the first time the Gold Coast has been compared to Soviet-era Moscow
@ fascinating how big the que was, its not like is aussies dont know what american junk food tastes like already
I remember I was so excited to try Wendy’s when I visited the US and gosh the disappointment I ended up having Wendy’s 3 times because I just couldn’t accept how disgusting the meat was but every time it was just as bad so hopefully the Australian version is better
why is it called a "baconmator" here? It's a baconator elsewhere, what is that m for I wonder? Also a frosty is usually thick and served with a spoon not a straw, I guess it's bound to be different for the Australian market. Fries dipped in the frosty is a classic might have to make my way over to Gold Coast to get a taste of home.
Yes!
becuase baconater is already taken by hungry jacks in australia
Cavill Avenue - Prestigious?
I might be being slightly ironic
Definitely think you need to do a round 2 there.
Yes! They have a pretty small menu - would like to try other stuff. It is a 50 minute drive though 😔
@ wait till the hype dies down , still look forward to what you try next elsewhere.
Thank you 🤩
Will they be coming to WA?
Maybe, but would take a while I think 😢
Last (and only time) I've had a baconator was in Tampa Bay, Florida a few years back. I was in need to have something absorb all the alcohol I had consumed the previous few hours.
Went down a treat!
It does seem like the ideal hangover meal
The only Wendy’s I wanna hear about is the one that gives me a shake and a hotdog
There’s one of those about twenty minutes from this one
@ haven’t seen a Wendy’s in donkeys years
Carl's Jr is weird here. It's my favorite burgers in American fast food. Frosty should have a spoon. I used to work there for my first job. I love the chili and baked potatoes. We're there chocolate frosties? Mix half frost with half the cup decaf coffee. So good. I used to do it all the time.
There were chocolate frosties, but no coffee 😔
You are naturally funny!😂
Thank you 🤩
You didn't get the sauce when you went back?
Completely forgot 😆 the heat messed me up
I tried Wendy's on a trip to New Zealand and it was like what you expect from the greasy, juicy burgers you see on TV. A large drink couldn't fit the cup holder.
I hope it is similar here.
I will check ty
How do they use their brand name when we have Wendy's ice cream and hot dog places. Burger King had to change their name here to hungry jacks?
I am also curious.
Because the Australian company trade as Wendy's milk bar
@@nathans5094that doesn't really explain why the burger place is allowed to use the name Wendy's. In fact I've often heard over the years that the reason Wendy's the burger place hadn't come back to Australia was in part because Wendy's the milkbar had the rights to the name (at least in the fast casual dining sector, which they both operate in)
ITS FINALLY HERE NOWAYYYYYYYYYY 😱😱😱😱
They are not cheap.
How do America's Wendy's 🍔 get to use the name here when We have Wendy's 🍦 which, if I'm not mistaken, aren't the same companies
Looking into this
I hope Popeyes comes to Australia
Me too! Though can they compete with KFC and Red Rooster???
It is, they spoke on it already
They're a lot better than KFC and red rooster.@@FoodSack
@dannyabbas5933 oh YESS, good
Popeyes flogs KFC. I'm an Aussie 🇦🇺 and went to the Philippines in 2017, had popeyes and ever since, I've wished they come to Australia.
My house is within 400 metres of a KFC and Red Rooster, but if a Popeyes opened up 10kms from me, I'd go to Popeyes 9 times out of 10.
Much more variety.
What about Wendy's Chilli?
It’s there, I’ll grab it next time
Do not know why you call it a baconmater in NZ it is call the baconator so i thought it would be the same?
Either they want to make it sound more ‘Australian’ or they wanted to avoid confusion/copyright issues with Hungry Jack’s ‘Baconator’ (which wasn’t very popular)
Carl jr use to be affordable but they upsize their prices to extreme and sadly burgers are cold
Thanks for sharing the prices. Couldn't find them anywhere and it actually seems pretty reasonable.
👍
Hopefully the menu is legible in the freeze frame?
