Ayeee thanks for the shout Justin! Been loving it so far. Back to back walk offs against MIN! Glad I got to be at progressive for those. Playoff berth for CLE and congrats on the championship captains !
one walk allowed by the pitching staff yesterday. Granted, the Twins only allowed one too, but the bottom line is limiting walks like that allows you get a little luck and win extra inning games. We got the luck last night.
There was one out when Rocchio blasted his walk off. What has Arias done to the front office? He's .300 with power in AAA since he was sent down. Rocchio is a feeble .200 as a SWITCH HITTER. Seen enough.
Rocchio has a .750+ OPS in his last 15 games. You can’t just yank rookies in and out of the lineup- most players take time to adjust to MLB pitching, and Rocchio has been steadily putting better and better at bats together.
Rocchio's hitting .300 in late and close situations this year and Arias had a tendency to crumble in those situations. Arias's defense is boom-bust just like Rocchio too
@@LockedonGuardians i don't think either one is the absolute future at short (Rocchio could end up like Omar mixed with Frankie if things go 100% perfect I guess), but I'm not as puckered when Rocchio's in there and the game's on the line as I would be with Arias. Still hope for both, still room for both to 100% flame out too
I remember the stories of the Tribe moving in '64. Seattle was the main destination and it looked like a done deal. "Trader" Frank Lane had decimated the line-up in the late 50's and early 60's and fan interest was nil. Attendance had dwindled to a bit over a half mil, and a high percentage of those coming on Opening day and Bat Day. Jimmy Dudley and Bob Neal trying to drum up enthusiasm on the radio. Tribe didn't draw over a million again until '74.
Did you guys know that Nolan Jones has -0.7 WAR this season? Wil Benson has a -1.0 WAR (he has 148 K's and is batting .192)! Moral of the story is to not jump to too quick of a conclusion.
I agree that as we clinch the bye or get close enough that they are comfortable to give the 2nd tier bullpen guys more work to rest our 1st tier guys some arm rest
I see where yall are coming from re: the offense… OF COURSE you want a consistent offense- every fan of every team wants that… unfortunately this is baseball and there is no such thing as consistency. Even MVP favorites have gone through long slumps this year (remember Judge’s awful April? Or Lindor’s historically terrible first 45 games?). Unless you’re Juan Soto, every player and every team has an inconsistent offense. MLB season is a roller coaster. What is needed is enough guys getting hot at the right time… the top 3 things this team needs for the postseason are: 1- A healthy Kwan 2-decent SP 3- decent SP (again) The pen will do its thing and the offense will score enough runs across a 7 game series as long as Kwan is right. The key to the postseason will be getting the starters through the lineup twice (cmon guys, just twice through PLEASE!). If they can pitch into the 5th allowing 2-3 runs or less, I love our chances.
as Justin alluded to today, many tried to point out that Noel's poor plate discipline would eventually come back to bite him, but fans were just too enamored with his prodigious shots and nickname. The irony now is that its the well informed fans who will insist he has to stay in now and we just have to deal with his chase rate, and the ones swooning about his nickname who will soon be calling for him to be benched for god know who, lol.
@@Bucknut9828 ooo boy. I won’t fault you for your opinion, and I have always loved Brennan’s swing, Not sure I can put him on the playoff roster over Noel though, At least that’s my opinion at this juncture.
I actually really like Esteban Gonzalez. He is what the sport is missing. He has 3 of the 5 tools; speed, glove and hit tool. This is how the guardians win games. He stole 41 bases between the two levels.
Wkyc is reporting that david Blitzer is buying land near progressive field to be developed. In my opinion Blitzer takes over majority ownership in 2026. Paul dolan wants to see thru 2025 season for fixing up progressive field to be done before selling.😊
They were playing in at the corners because it was one out and a guy on third- they wanted to have every chance to stop him from getting home on a ground ball.

thank you kind sir

It's a bit weird both are solid defenders but think Rocchio has been better of late even if the ceiling is lower

I have loved this season and following along with you fellers hoping for good health and hot bats come October. Go go guards
Thank you for the kind words it's been one of the most fun years ever between success and the draft
Laroche and kern was good! Btw, it’s mon-jeee
Thanks for the heads up
Come you imagine what the Captains lineup would have looked like had they called up Jaison Chourio as well?
If hadn't got hurt I think he would have been

indeed.
Yup we mentioned it at points but that's why BABIP matters and we brought up last year that regression would be likely
I agree that as we clinch the bye or get close enough that they are comfortable to give the 2nd tier bullpen guys more work to rest our 1st tier guys some arm rest
I concur would be ideal to get set up

I agree 5 and fly has to be the goal for the post season with that pen

Just don't see a pathway to being anything more than a minor league guy
Wow!
What a game
Hopefully Campbell can be mext year's Delucia.
They got a few of them that it could be sadly
You think Joey Cantillo will be a back end rotation guy next season? Or will they try McKenzie and Allen again
I think he could be Boyd and Cobb are FA so after Bibee and Williams it is all up on the air
And lively too I should say
@@LockedonGuardians I’m kinda hoping the can sign Boyd. I think he deserved it
Naylor used kwans bat!
That's a good bit info I didn't know wonder if it's lighter
Where the heck is Jason Knapp pitching?
not anymore tried one with Texas at one point
How are we feeling about potential Amazon prime instead of Ballys?
Don't think it helps the guardians in terms of cash flow the high days of TV are done

I'm torn between clinching a playoff spot and dropping the Twins into a tie with the Tigers.........
both great
I wonder why royals were pinching in with 2 outs. That allowed rocchio to get the hit. Is his bunting a threat?
There was only 1 out
Why was Fry starting instead of Manzardo
