Jhope takes care of the group during performances, pre concert preps like staging, arrangement of the stage, etc. He checks the dance of each member. He checks jin and rm on that aspect all the time. He makes sure they get the right moves.
Jhope is important too. Versatile? Definitely! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yes and he also is in the songwriting line with RM and Suga. He has 95 writing/composing credits at KOMCA. For the amount of credits he's 2nd in BTS after RM. I wish people stop sleeping on his contribution as a songwriter. And it's not only his verses that he makes, RM said numerous times that j-hope is great at making catchy , striking pop melodies. For example he contributed a lot to Jin's "Awake" and also made most of melodies in "Dionysus".

The fact that they even highlight people who are contributes to the album is just makes me respect them more. They dont have to put the name of the dance company for black swan (MN dance company) but they do.
also with this ucla marching bands crew, the choir, they put recourses just to make this commentary video (which also give them a spotlight).
In chicken noodle soups they even credited all the dancers on the screen.
They can just pay and thats it. But no. They know how artist needs a space to showcase their art. And they gave credit when it’s due. I love bts and bh for that.

I was lucky enough to witness Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen, Nirvana and so many others. You are right we are all witnessing music history, the birth of Icons. I remember telling my son before I found BTS how music today felt stale to me, I'd seen it, heard it all before, no one stood out as an artist who would be remembered 20 years from now. The excitement I felt was gone, everything was cookie cutter made for pop radio, filled with auto tune. Then one night Spring Day and Stigma showed up in my feed, two songs that changed me and relit that fire for music. They mix genres, bring the old and fuse it with the new, they sing , they dance and they have a powerful message that speaks to all ages.

He's been involved in making BTS music since their trainee days, he released his own mixtape with credits for writing, composing, producing, vocal and rap arrangements and for being recording engineer. Edit: A few ARMY need to stop twisting my words. I'm not saying that the other members are not versatile or that they are sub par. Why would I think that Jin (my ultimate bias) is sub par?!?! The whole album is based on Carl Jung's theory of Shadow n Ego. Notice that Jin is wearing bluish jacket and sometimes the camera shots at the cloudless blue sky. If I'm not mistaken RM did mention something abt what the color Blue means (which made ARMYs clowns for thinking the album cover would be Blue).

J-Hope is for sure the most versatile. He was part of the "vocal gang" for like half the tracks on the album (meaning he was credited for singing back-up vocals on several songs). He's the dance/performance leader, BTS' deputy, He has the 2nd most production credits in the group (after RM). He's also really versatile within his rap. Lots of agility with his tone and flow. Suga once said that J-Hope always does the "third part" in a song which, throughout BTS' discography you can see that he always does whatever part is sort of unique in the structure of the song. And they say that's because he's so adaptable. RM says he's like "water"--he can fill whatever space they need him to. Jin said that there's nothing Hobi's not good at. At the last festa (annual group dinner/talk thing) the members called him the "Pillar of BTS." It's a shame he doesn't get more time in videos but I think Hoseok stans (like myself) can take pride in the fact that he always has a stand out part and he always shines in whatever he does. Thank you so much for noticing and commenting on that though. Really, he can be slept on (until you see him live--that always wakes everyone up to his charisma and talent). Anyway, moral of the story, yes, Hobi talented, versatile KING.
Also, I'm not a k-pop fan per se. I recognize the hard work and the talent of other groups but most of what I've seen of the music is pretty generic for me and super electronic and over-produced. When I watch the end of the year Award Shows it's all very artificial. (Not the artists--the work they put out--I recognize they're all real people that have dynamic personalities--but the product, for me, doesn't feel authentic.) That being said, I like TXT a lot (BTS' baby brothers--I think the culture of BigHit enables TXT to be more authentic too) and I thing Mamamoo is a really unique, DIY, talented group of women. They also came from a small company and got a lot of hate (for their physical appearance specifically), they have a very versatile discography, very experimental and empowering. They feel like real, relatable, powerful women and their vocals are flawless. But anyway, yeah, not a k-pop fan. I'm a fan of the BTS genre. :)

Yo, I love your comments. I’m JK and Suga bias. Haha, what am I even talking about. The idea of having a bias is no longer important for me. It’s just something that strengthens my love for BTS on a personal level lol. I love them all and I highly agree on every single damn thing that you said. Fans tend to be bitter about their bias not having as much screen time. But honestly, they’re a team and what they do is that they just recognize each other’s strengths and do their best to create the best products. 🤷🏻‍♀️ J-Hope may have less screen time than other members. So what? He always shines when he wants to and he’s still recognized by fans, especially by his members and whoever he working with. That’s what a true talent does. Nothing can stop him from showing off his talents. Besides, we all agree that the Maknae line deserves the amount of screen time that they have because they’re such amazing performers. Above all of that, it’s not all about screen time neither. Let’s look at a bigger picture. Anyway, I just went a little bit off to talk about “screen time” not because I want to criticize you but because it’s just popping up in my head right now. So I just feel like saying it. Thank you for this comment though. We need more fans like you. 💜

i totally agree abt jhope. he’s ALWAYS the member who adapts to the song, connecting the other members to each other. You see this in cypher 2 where he does the hook that connects suga & rm’s verses, & in a lot of ways in non-rapline songs, like the fact that they use his voice to harmonize a lot bc it blends in so smoothly. The biggest example is airplane: he has the same verse in both songs but a ton of people didnt even know because theyre SO different & adapt to the song so well

Fun Fact: Everything they've released days ago, has been planed to some degree years ago.
If you notice it and understand that very small tiny clue, you'll see how important all of this is to BTS.
Just recently, I found out that their song "RUN"... in the MV "EGO" was written at the very top of the mirror...
    EGO came out recently.
    RUN came out years ago.
That's amazing to think about. I'm trying to imagine how... How did they do this?
Because I would've never thought of ever being able to do that.
Not unless I devoted and dedicated all my passion into doing something that big.

I have to disagree with this to an extent. I think this is more reactive than proactive, meaning that because of their surging popularity and the attraction the story brought to a western audience that BigHit decide to go with this.
Reminder that BigHit was nearly bankrupt during their RUN era. They had no way of expecting to last long enough to get a cohesive arc between albums for this to have been planned years ago. Hitman Bang has even said that then, their MV (RUN) resonated more with the western audience and drew more fans in from them. So its *much* more likely that they used past work for future and current works.

I think some people have the wrong idea about what I’m saying... 😓
Obviously, no one can predict the future.
I said “Just recently, I found out”.
I’m not smart enough or have the brain power to figure everything out. I saw the clue and just thought “Wow, they wrote EGO before EGO even came out.”
Also.... I don’t think anyone expects anybody to know everything?
My thought process was just that BigHit planned this to some degree.
      It could’ve just been phases.
I do writing and I plan out the stages of my stories.
      Example:
At the beginning I set up a place and event that’ll reveal the reason to why the main character has this goal.
Then, the character goes on a journey never thinking of a need for having friends. They become indifferent to everyone.
But something happens that makes him think back to when he did have someone by his side so he starts to accept the people that are around him now and wants to stay with him.
Something like that, but on a bigger scale.
Its like small notes and having at least some idea possible for the future.
Sometimes I don’t write the story well and just cut off the story. The rest of my ideas just goes into the trash.
But. Even though I’m saying all this, I get what some of you are saying...

*THANK YOU! I really appreciate what you said and actually explains how most BTS fans feel, we are BTS fans and not kpop fans (a narrative media keeps pushing in general) and it's unfair for them* *because the message is purely theirs, their music doesn't represent what the kpop industry is or does, and it's not about a language or race, it goes beyond that.*
As BTS themselves said in an interview earlier today, the genre is BTS itself, kpop is just an industry full of superficial concepts and using people for monetary gain and not for the art (i want to clarify that this isn't meant to be offensive towards korean artists but if you know what the kpop industry is about many of those big companies use kids that might not even sing but only have good looks), BTS said they hope that talented and hardworking people gets recognized, not just because they are kpop, not because they are korean but because of what they do and that's exactly how it should be, not just koreans but people who actually deserve it.
BTS is a truly deserving group and i don't say it because they are people i follow, but because of what they are doing. I hope media stop putting the kpop label on every achievement BTS make because that's just a way of ignoring their hard work. Now BTS still face the stigma of what a group is, people still don't want to listen because isn't in their language and radio doesn't play their music even though there's the demand and it's so disheartening and frustrating.
*Ok, that was long hahaha and well, for versatility i would say J-Hope and that's why RM always talk about him being like a second leader as well, he 's a person who can excel in everything.*

I actually don't like kpop. They are so many problems in the industry, most people put on fake personalities, (bts used to do it too when they were very young, but you can clearly see that they don't do it anymore) and idols aren't artists, just performers...
When I started, I actually listened to a few kpop groups (like blackpink, loona...) and then I found out that they have nothing to do with the music they sing. If they have a cute concept they are cute, if they have a badass concept, they act badass too.
I was so SO disappointed, but then I stumbled across Singularity that just came out and I gave bts a chance.... I will never regret falling in love with bts.

    • @kswwsk

Performers are artists. This is such an ignorant idea for people to have. Think about what you're saying. By your logic ballet dancers aren't artists, opera singers aren't artists, actors aren't artists. "Just performers". Being able to perform is an art form no less than other art forms. Idols are artists whether you think they "just perform" or are involved with song writing as well, which btw a very large number of them are. As for the kpop industry, it is no worse or toxic than the western music industries. The problems may be different and maybe more visible or easier to understand but anyone who thinks it's more toxic than for eg the American music scene needs to pull their head out of the sand. Musicians are raped, have their music rights stolen from them, are abused physically and sexually, encouraged and helped by labels to get addicted to drugs, have their money stolen, etc. Look at high rate of drug and alcohol related deaths in the western music industries, those are basically suicides in slow motion in all but name. You don't have to like kpop either the music or the overall product or way of doing things, but you do not have to disrespect the idols and people who work in it in general, there is no reason or excuse for that. Talk about the problems in the industry yes, but not by making out it is worse than other industries, and neither the western artists nor the kpop artists ie idols are to blame for those issues and they deserve respect for their talents and hard work. Unless you have done what they do, ie stand on stages around the world and perform to audiences and entertain them, I think you have no rights to belittle their talents and artistry let alone belittle ballet dancers, actors and opera singers etc in the process.

Coz Hobi is truly an Artist. He dances, sings, raps, writes music and he even choreographs their routines. He"an All rounder. So why buy concert ticket where Aetist could only sing or only dance or only raps?Just go to Bts concerts, buy their Albums, coz every penny is so worth it and more.💜

Yes! J-Hope is the best "showman" of the group but that is not throwing shade whatsoever on any of the other members.
The video was shot at Sepulveda Dam (north of LA).
The drones buzzing around in the dance video was awesome--so fun!
I was so happy to see the behind the scenes documentary because, honestly, I was perplexed by the marching band sound the first few times I listened to "ON." I was joking it was some kind of Super Bowl strategy. Now it really makes sense. Of course. Not only does it make sense but it's super compelling. Of course!

I've been piecing together info from recent BTS interviews...I wonder if they shot it around the same time as Chicken Noodle Soup...but I really don't know. They are always jetting around and good at being sneaky even though they are so high profile!

Thanks for notice Jhope! He's an outstanding performer! He dance as a master, rap, sing, write lyrics, produce, do ad libs and always makes sure everyone do perfect on stage when it's come to choreo and stage positions, to a company and a group he's a gem and BTS are very aware (they always compliment him as a 2nd leader an a pilar to all of them even emotionaly) so he's very special but is sadly overlook for many people even so call "armys". It's cool you mentioned Jungkook too bc I think he's on his way to be versatile as Hobi bc he's working to make his own mixtape! We'll see :)

    In conclusion *BTSpop*
I’ve listened to other kpop groups and songs, but nothing has stuck to be the way BTS has!
Btw, j-hope is known as the Golden Hyung, he can dance, sing, rap, write music & produce, and he can beatbox (just a little fun fact lol), and if there’s anything he wants to learn he does it!

Back in 2017 when they released the first album, Love Yourself: Her, when Yoongi was talking about working in his hotel room in Chicago (while they were doing the WINGS tour) and he explained how his verse in Outro: Her came to him so easily and the lyrics just flowed out of him, that’s how I understood the message of Love Yourself. About how we tend to change ourselves, present ourselves a certain way in order to gain the approval of others or someone we like, we kind of lie to be someone that will be loved by others. He said that he realized that when you’re doing that, changing these small things about yourself to seem cooler or whatever, the other person is falling in love with someone else and not YOU. Because you don’t have the confidence or courage to be yourself /truly/ around that person, they can’t really know you. So that is what Love Yourself means to me. Knowing yourself and having belief and confidence in yourself, enough to really love yourself, and show yourself to others so that they can truly love the real you. And it’s not even about loving yourself so other love you, it’s about taking the first step, doing the first hard work of accepting yourself. And when you do that, life seems so much brighter and the possibilities ahead are wonderful.

The part where you noticed that Jimin and Jungkook were showcased a lot in the MV was true. Technically, there is no reason for that, in every MV there’s usually a member or two that is shown a bit more than the others, but overall each the members showed individuality and uniqueness in the MV and did an amazing job! Jungkook has the most roles in BTS, he’s main vocalist, sub-rapper, dancer, maknae, and CENTER. So yeah lol he’s in the front a lot, but I’m not complaining lol. Jimins also a dancer and the lead vocalist. BTS usually talk about which parts would suit which members the best and I think all members did an amazing job and I couldn’t be more proud to be an ARMY💜

I thought it was really cool for Jungkook to have a little more time, since in the Mvs it is well balanced, but each member has his own mv, so I was missing seeing his face more. Of course, the euphoria video was obviously focused on him, but not quite, you know?

actually i disagree with uh cuz jhope's getting lesser and lesser parts and don't give me reasons like others deserve to be in the center but guys he is also main dancer rapper and vocalist and even with that he is being neglected. and about jimin and jk getting more parts I don't really mind them getting more but as a jhope stan i feel sad to see him appear only 5 to 6secs on the screen. And it is not ok when every comeback focuses on one or two members but i don't remember any comeback where jhope is focused at least comparable to jk (i understand jk being center and main singer)

Nah Hoseok has the most roles in the group no question at all, he does it all, and the lines and center were not fair at all, jikook have half the song while rl again have scraps, that's just not right, Bh has made most songs vl oriented and hasn't given rl opportunities to show their skills within the group and Jhope being main dancer having 4 sec of dance break is just not fair at all, Hoseok has least lines in most songs and no center no dance parts that is bs and unfair

  • @123antonela123
    @123antonela123 4 года назад +4

I noticed that too. Jimin and JK almost always have the most screen time but in this mv it was even more noticeable than usual, I'm guessing it's because they're the most popular members (tae had the 3rd most screen time).
I fully agree, J-Hope is indeed the most versatile member. He is just as talented as JK, and is additionally very involved in the musical and lyrical process as others have already pointed out, and furthermore is instrumental in LEADING the group at times, not everyone has what it takes to lead people. Also, I'd argue he is the most culturally open-minded along with RM and speaks the 2nd best English and Japanese. He is generally very good at languages: when you look at international concerts, he often recites the longest messages in the corresponding foreign language (at least in French, Spanish and German). It's like he constantly gives 200% in whatever he does.
Fun fact: He is also the most business savvy and invested his money the smartest resulting in being the wealthiest member of the group as of 2019.
I truly love all the members, nonetheless I find it very unfair how on one hand JK is by far the most appreciated member by many armies, j-hope on the other hand is the most underappreciated member...It's all about looks once again. Thankfully, many armies have said once they've seen them live they have either biased or bias wrecked J-hope bc of his otherworldly stage presence and apparently he is highly unphotogenic and pretty handsome in reality.

I completely agree Jhope is the most versatile one in the group also he is really creative person. We saw it in his mixtape also CNS (which is he paid a lot of money to able to do that) like every MV of him i got different vibes but also it was so him at the same time. Unfortunately he is underrated... Anyway my favourite part of the song is his part for sure it was very different and catchy (also I’m glad that you mentioned that thank you:)

when you go to the concert, make sure you stay till the very end. they usually have an encore for about 15 minutes and then they start the ending so that pause isn't them finishing!! they still have more songs after that. I've seen many new fans go to the concert and leave before it finishes because they think the intermission is the end

Jungkook is the center of BTS, one of the lead dancers and the group’s main vocalist so it would make sense why he gets screen time in every video and Jimin is a lead vocalist and one of the main dancers as well so in addition to lines, he gets to be up front for choreo a lot too compared to others who don’t have a dance position like RM for example.
