    The UK has approximately 30 aircraft & that includes RAF jets, not enough for one carrier that's why we always have to borrow some from the USA , not good enough

    Hello everyone from Spain!! The Spanish Navy is interested in this F-35B aircraft to replace the Harrier fighters it currently has. without a doubt a success if it is carried out.

    The thrust vectoring is a brilliant piece of machinery, that's what sets them apart, both the F35 and F22, the design, the military personnel that make the USA military 2nd to None. 🇺🇸

      @Then.72 2 месяца назад +3

      The technology was British & was invented by Rolls Royce with the flying bedstead which made the concept & design of the Bristol Siddeley Kestrel that became the Harrier jump jet, not the Ryan X-13

      *The USMC originally purchased 110 Harrier AV-8A aircraft from the UK back in the 1970s.*
      *_Those aircraft were built at Hawker Siddeley Kingston UK, Disassembled for transport to the US then reassembled by McDonnell Douglas._*
      _All USMC Harriers including the later USMC AV-8B manufactured by McDonnell Douglas always used the UK Bristol / RR Pegasus engine with vertical lift thrust vectoring system._
      The F35-B has more than 30% UK content involving more than 130 UK companies. All non STOVL F35 aircraft have more than 15% UK content involving more than 130 UK companies.
      *The F-35B depends on a great deal of experience & expertise gained from the Hawker Siddeley Harrier.*

    F-35 & F-22 are 5th gen. Jets mostly advanced avionics , capabilities But also require expensive operational @ maintenance cost to W/c our country can not afford to Operate(only 2-3 times/day).Jas 39 gripen has same 5th gen. Avionics capabilities but lower operational/ maintenance cost w/c we can afford )6-7 x/day).

      Stealth F-22/35's are a completely different league of aircraft and any JAS-39 pilot would tell you such. The stealth capability is the primary identifier of "5th gen". Upgraded avionics/maneuverability are considered to be Gen 4+, not Gen 5. Once an area is secure, the JAS-39/Typhoon/other Gen 4 (Gen 4+) aircraft still fill a role, but certainly not the same one.

    I really wish the Navy & Marines could go more jump jets then they have had in the past , but i don't know if they are as fast to scramble as the F18 types. Maybe someone can comment on this delta.

    • @TB-ni4ur
      @TB-ni4ur Месяц назад

      It uses copious amounts of fuel and can't take off with a full payload, it has to "jump" with a minimal amount of fuel and payload to reduce weight. Bottom line there is no utility in a jump jet, only as a way to take off with a "minimized" runway length. But even then, it's not like it can take off form a dirt road, any rocks or debris could easily get stirred up by the air and destroy the skin basically immobilize the entire plane with is fragile. The Marines wished they has spent their money on a helicopter, and the JSF wished they had abandoned the vertical takeoff nonsense all together...

    Rollce Royce has created an engine for the F35b which was better in everyway......200 knots quicker with a 17% more powerful all-round performance engine oh with 9% increased range but America was cno way going to allow to be outdone ....British Engineers basically built it alongside the US so it's NOT a US JET

      The UK invented jet VTOL, later sold it to you but always made your engines so when Lockheed began with the B version of the F35 they had problems and came Knocking on the doors of Rolls Royce who invented thrust vectoring with the fly bedstead . A contract was signed and that aircraft is now 25% British as the engines are Rolls Royce and BAE systems also play a part, do some research and wake up

      @@s4160968 That's interesting. Could you provide examples of other aircraft that pushed the limits of military capability, that didn't have issues at the beginning? It's a shame Russia and China are still trying to build their own versions of an F-22 equivalent 27 years after the U.S. did so. Maybe you cheer for losers?
