your the best!!! love these videos!!!!! currently have parrots but now need a canary room.... hahahahah. we have had a farm for years, good call on not putting the apple core and seeds in the mix. seeds can be toxic to our little FIDS. thanks so much!!!!! keep giving us these amazing videos!!
It's a very nice recipe.I would recommend to anyone who feeds it for the forst time to feed only a small amount if the birds are used to other egg food mixtures (mine rejected it until I offered it 4 times.I have over 60.)Btw,it's a great smoothie recipe for us (without the egg food in it of course :p.)So thanks for that :D
Hi, great video Matt - I have a canary hen who has laid about 4 or 5 eggs but am worried she looks a bit tired - is this recipe ok for very short term use for laying hens (in the first week of laying) to use the antibiotic properties of the garlic to eliminate any bugs?
Hi Matt Greetings from down under beautiful Brisbane Australia. Allow me to congratulate you on a most informative and riveting series of shows. With our breeding season still around 5 months away, there is some points I would appreciate your advice on. 1. Exactly how do you prepare your hens for the next round, changing nest, removing nest, withhold nest etc??? 2. I noticed in your last episode you said you had removed the perches from your chicks rearing cage, what will happen if I leave perches in their rearing cage and how long do you withdraw the perches for, also do you feed and water them on the floor and if so how do you get them used to feeding from a different utensil on a perch??? 4. I am told young cock birds learn to sing from their fathers, however if I remove them to a rearing cage and they are not with the parents what happens. I only have 3 pair in 70cm x 45cm x 45cm flight cages so do not have the ability to seperate or remove a cock bird and if he is with the hen he will not sing. Sorry this is such a long-winded comment. Keep up the good work, cheers
@@TheCanaryRoom thanks I mixed egg food in and freezed hope its ok. Next batch will only freeze the veg/fruit mix and then add egg food when defrosted and ready to feed birds.
I am a new fancier of lovebirds in Pakistan and this will be my first season as such... Our breeding season going to start in October or November... Your above video is for Canary birds. So i have two questions: 1) Above soft food is suitable for lovebirds as well or not? 2) Do you have any videos on lovebirds as well?
i use sprouted seeds to soften up my orlux bianco, that's all i feed during breeding season, as well as seeds and a bit of greens of course...as i said keep it simple!
I am a new bird breeder. A week back purchased dilute love birds pair and opline love bird pair. I have a deli nature mixture in hand. I need guidance.. 1) Is this mixture is good for love birds in breeding season? 2) Should i give this mixture daily to love birds or once or twice a week? 3) Should i add Nekton E & S, calcium in this mixture if yes daily or once a week? 4) As breeding season is start in October what extra things should i add in it or is this enough?
sir i have white yarkshire female canary...the problem i face is that this is her 1st year to breed... she layed 4 eggs but unfortunately all 4 eggs were layed shell-less.... what to do for she is ready to start her 2nd clutch
Thanks Marie, I mean i don't add garlic during the breeding season. only because i feed the egg food from the first day of hatching and i'm always a bit concerned about the young getting too much
Hi mate, im from indonesia. . i start breed yorkshire canary in this month. . i have question, how many times do i need to give egg food in one week ? Thankyou!
it depends on what time of the year, for example during breeding season you need to give eggfood every day, same thing as they going trough the moult as the extra nutrients will help the birds grow new feathers
it's called eggfood, basically egg battered with flour then baked into a cake and crumbled. guy in the video said he used 3 different brand mixtures: king's, cédé (i have this kind), and delinature
Hmmm, my canaries have virtually zero interest in Kale. Don’t blame them🤮 But my canaries and Oz finches absolutely love Pak Choy for greens. Not sure about its availability in the UK?
Hi can I feed this to my birds as I breed mules and I didn’t want to just do it in case there’s to much fat or anything and I’m using Perle morbid and cede dry egg food mix any advice please?
I am going to make an egg food tutorial in my channel but i will just explain how to smash a hard boiled egg with the shell and give it to zebra finches well does YOUR mix good for zEBRA FINCHES?
A bit late..Portion it up.and keep it in the deep freezer.I prepare all my egg food mixtures in large amounts as I have usually between 60-200 birds per season.I portion it and when I need it I take it out.(If you get the mixture right and it's not to moist or too dry you can scrape off what you need and leave it a few minutes in room.temperature while you have put the rest back into deep freezer.ait only takes me a few minutes to fill the bowls and it's always cool in the kitchen so.the mixture which goes back into the deep freezer never defrosts.
My canary layed 3 eggs a few weeks ago, today a few hours ago the first egg hatched, but the mom hasen't started to feed the baby yet. Can someone please help me, I'm kinda new to this. Plss give all tips u have.
Hi Safa, i've only just seen this comment, sorry. In the first few hours the young will survive of the nutrients from the egg sack, the important thing at this stage is they're kept warm. Some hens are great feeders others are not, but don't over fuss on the young as this can cause the hen to abandon them.
I was getting some birds they did not eat orange fruit or egg food But by keeping offering it, then they tasted it, and then no way they be without now
If I keep the amount as shown in the video, then the amount of dry eggfood does not match what you see in the video! I made it last night, and everything by half, and I already had a big bowl full !!! On the video you can see whole apple, whole carrot etc etc. Then it really becomes a very wet gang
What about if my canary has a hatchling is it safe to give them garlic then? My society finch died today and I don't know what the cause of death was , he was missing some feathers around his neck area for some time I am not sure if he had diarrhea not sure if I gave him garlic would it help him . The strangest thing is that he didn't show any major signs of being sick he was just a little puffed up and when I got near the cage he would just fly to another branch inside the cage , did you have anything similar happen to you maybe?
budgies actually hide their sickness VERY well for future reference 😊. A too puffed up budgie or puffed up for too long are actually signs of an unwell budgie. So by the time you can visibly tell the bird is sick, the sickness is quite far along and hard to treat without a vet
I have been breeding birds for over 30 years and would not give garlic to hatchlings.(I had some dead baby burds when Instarted because I have used heavy to digest ingredients in the egg food mixture such as nuts for example.) I give them my standard dey egg food mixture with peas and/or sweet corn and heavier to digest mixtures once they are 14 days old. It's possible that garlic is okay, but I wouldn't risk it.) In regards to digestive problem I been giving my birds organic cammomille tea for year.I add 2-3 tbs in a large drinker for each cage.Stinging nettle tea is also good if you get a new bird and don't know if it was exposed to chemcals. It helps to detoxify.
Sir i would never feed y birds garlic no matter what ! alot of people tried putting garlic to their birds and most of them died ! so please don't just give an advice like that it may kill alot of birds !
yes ! and onions !! don't try putting that in ur birds food NEVER ! not all birds can digest it also .. search online u'll see .. i know some people did that and they really regret it so please please be careful.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear of your experience, i can only assume that the supply you used was contaminated in some way. Garlic given in small amounts certainly won't kill birds
thank you for anyone who feed birds in Healthy way .
Thank you for sharing.very good ❤

It looks tasty.. I want it!!
I made this exactly as you said and my birds went crazy for it!! When should I stop putting in the garlic? Love your channel! Thanks so much!
Glad they enjoyed it!! I stop the garlic during the breeding season
Thank you xx
Very inspiring!

Many thanks for your kind comments, glad the birds are enjoying it. May give the smoothie recipe a try myself!
Love your video. So much information. Is there a way to mix it up and store what is left over ? Thank you for your time.
I freeze the mix before adding the egg food
@@TheCanaryRoom Thank you for your speedy reply. Just found your site yesterday. It's delightful & informative.

How long can you keep this mix in the fridge? 1 week at a time?
No, I freeze the mix before I put the egg food in it, I’d say it would be ok for 24-48 hours in the fridge though
@@TheCanaryRoom thanks I mixed egg food in and freezed hope its ok. Next batch will only freeze the veg/fruit mix and then add egg food when defrosted and ready to feed birds.
How often can I feed this?
What is the leaf u have added as last ingredient.... Can u mention in comment....
its Kale!
Do we need to use Kings CD and Deli nature?
Nope, any dry "egg food" can be used - they are just my preferred choices.

Hi, do you usually use commercial soft eggfood in any period of the year? Or just dry eggfood mixed with fruits and vegetables?
Hi, thanks for the comment. I use dry egg food with vegetables all year round
@@TheCanaryRoom is emp dry egg food recommended
Do I have to put in the egg just saying
i find that keeping things simple works better for my birds...good seeds, quality soft-food, a little veg now and then and fresh water every day
What's a quality soft food?
orlux, cede', deli-nature...lots of good ones on the market just pick one and stick with it!
Okay. Thanks!
Have you tried feeding your birds sprouts?
i use sprouted seeds to soften up my orlux bianco, that's all i feed during breeding season, as well as seeds and a bit of greens of course...as i said keep it simple!
Hi!
How many times to give this food for optimal health?
I give it once a week in the run up to breeding and twice a day when there are young in the nest
Can you plz share the link of Eggs and dry mix...
For how long can you storage this egg food? I only got 3 canary's. How about a boiled egg?
Is dry egg food like cede a safer alternative to a boiled egg. Will a boiled egg spoil faster? Thanks
I no longer use boiled egg for that very reason, in reality any mix will soil of left out for too long, on hot days I feed little and often
Nice canaries
can you please name the dry mix , thanks in advance
What do you feed canaries who have baby chicks in the cage. I don't have time to be at home all day to watch them. I need some advice.
can i use this kind of mix with my cockatiels & conure? where can i get eggfood mix from?
You can get the dry egg food on-line. Don't see any reason not to give it to cockatiels but I imagine the dry mixture will be slightly different

What this the egg food dry? And that just for once or we can feeding next day?
can I feed my baby canary with this good
It's for the adult birds, or canaries that re being weaned. Depending on the age of your baby canaries there are special hand rearing mixes available
very nice thank you

Hi, no reason to be afraid it's a great natural addition to egg food

Nikola Maric the garlic is good for birds and in the same time is naturally antibiotics
I would too. I read that birds CAN survive eating gargling and MAYBE onion but for the sake of safety it's still in the list of toxic foods.
Don't be
U don’t put the apple core in because it’s bitter but because it’s toxic for birds.
