The Tekken 5 stick is a Hori Real Arcade Pro and was one of the first accessible ways for Americans to get a real Japanese style stick, so in my mind it has to be the most important collector's edition for a fighter ever!!
My buddy and I, who are both fighting game fans, have found several Infinity Eggs at thrift stores, usually for under five bucks. We've made a running joke out of making a big deal about finding one, just to leave it on the shelf and walk on.

That Soulcalibur VI steelbook never went off for me, but it did still break to the point where the announcer sounded like he was yammering on with gibberish.
Great video. Keep it up! As a note on an obscure collector’s edition: There was a Capcom website exclusive Super Street Fighter 4 collector’s edition called the “Dojo” edition. It came with an Ibuki water bottle, an XL size Dudley T-Shirt, and a gym bag that said Super Street Fighter 4 on it. Little anecdote, I brought that bag to hold my stuff when I ran the New York Marathon, and I had a few people from other countries ask me where I got that bag… it helped me connect with fighting games fans from around the world! 😆 Glad to see your channel growing. Also wanted to thank you, I randomly asked for a photo with your Athena cosplay at this past MAGfest , and you were super nice! Nice to see someone spreading good vibes amongst fighting game fans!
Great video! I remember ordering a second hand copy of TTT2's We Are Tekken Edition, but for some reason it also came with a TTT2 beanie and a t-shirt with some nice Alisa art on it!
I love the special editions for KoFXV and XIV. The latter had the store clerk be real uppity calling it "the expensive edition" also the big artbook that XIV came with is really great. And can't forget those COMPLETE SOUNDTRACKS

You have finally given me an explanation for my agony. When I was a kid I would go to flea markets a lot and this guy was selling MK Deception for a cheap price. The 25th Anniversary Edition on PS3 included download codes for the PS1 Classics versions of the Alpha games, and literally every SF avatar item from the PS store. I was really happy to switch to PS3 just in time for that collection.
This was a great video! Something different from my usual feed, and on a super niche topic that turned out to be surprisingly informative. I NEED to recreate that Tekken 7 statue….
I’ve been getting lucky by waiting for years and letting somebody else buy something from limited runs or play Asia and then I buy it from them because I don’t trust either one of those websites I wouldn’t send a single dollar to them
Enjoyed the video. Thank you for your work. Love the Street Fighter 20th anniversary edition. The codes still worked about a year ago. However they are US only, so I needed to setup my PS3 with a US based account in order to use them.
I miss going into game shops and buying or preordering collectors editions. One of my favorites was assassins creed brotherhood codex edition that came with the assassin box, book and other goodies.
I can already imagine someone sleeping soundly and out of nowhere, your dreams take a turn for the worse when you hear Xemnas go "WELCOME TO THE STAGE OF HISTORY" Also, I definitely loved the Tekken 7 Collector's Edition, and the statue is great, however, I will warn that if you plan to get the statue from that CE, you might need a clear transparent stick or support for it, as over time, the Kazuya figure will slowly start weighing down. I missed out on the Tekken 8 Collector's since I was broke. I also loved the Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN Collector's Edition. And I unfortunately lost the keychain that came with that one.
I saw this in my recommendations, even though I’ve always been the type of person to settle for the barebone when it came to being in niche communities. This video kind of convinced me that the next time my favorite IP releases a collector’s edition I might as well join in on the hype 😅
I love collector editions that come with figures, I always want to have physical versions of my favorite characters to display on a desk. I only wanted the MVCI box for the Megaman X statue, but I already have the Kotobukiya figure which came out much later
Man I wish every future fighting game collector's editions/pre-order bonuses can do something similar what SNK Heroines does. Gotta respect that game for actually cares what "collector's edition/pre-order bonuses" mean. But hey at least we got some dog tags from DOA5, so that's neat to say coming from the Lei Feng main myself.
I like guilty gear signs limited edition purely for the reason that it looks like the tome of origins and has the guilty gear codex which helps bring you up to everything that’s going on in guilty gear story wise. You don’t have to go back and try to play the old games are scour through wikis, It’s a pretty easy way to catch up on 15 years of lore so you can just hop into signs story.
I never bought the collectors edition for MKX and I still got the Gold Scorpion skin a few years back it was free on the ps store right around the time MK11 was coming out I remember seeing people posting about it on a MK reddit forum I was part of back then.
I got Skullgirls for Switch. Sold by limited-run games. I got the version that came with the vinyl record. At that point, I already had the game on PC. I just wanted a physical copy, and to play it on Switch would be cool. I remember the game was taking longer than expected. So they sent everyone a code to get the game digitally so you could start playing while you waited. It was nice of them to do that. The vinyl record is really cool. I ended up getting the Rocket League and Elden Ring vinyl as well. I probably should get a record player. XD
Awesome video! Glad I found your channel, very cool stuff your showing off! I was gonna get the 25th anniversary of guilty gear Strive but the DLC is not on the disk and the soundtrack only has 5 songs off of it. The only reason to get it at that point is the artbook basically. My favorite video game collections are definitly kingdom hearts 1 for the ps3 and Re 2 remake. Keep on being awesome in meantime
The 2 collector's editions that I keep were MK9 and MvCI 😊 ... Also MK Armageddon had cell of entire cast with Ed Boon signature printed as GameStop preorder bonus
I had the Soulcalibur IV Collector's Edition and always wanted the Soulcalibur V one. Would even wear the special shirt that game with it to school (Yoda and Siegfried one).
Ever since I bought a Halo Spartan action figure that broke its hand after 6 months, I knew that getting something else along with the game was a mistake. There's just no room to put these things unless you have dedicated space for it and even then you risk tripping and destroying them. As a 3d animator, I am just happy getting to play with the 3d models in my hard drive than some immovable statue. I main Sephiroth in Tekken too
I have the Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds “Special Edition” with a really awesome slipcase, fantastic Steel book with awesome art… and even a short intro Comic/Artbook, and a handful of character sheets with art and special moves.
Can’t remember the last time any game collectors gave you a towel. Except I distinctly remember preordering Super Mario Sunshine at Toys R Us giving you a pretty large beach towel.
So yeah, those video trading cards in MKD are named that because they were the "video versions" of the trading cards that came with MK Deception's premium pack. They had the same design and all. I remember mine (also had the Premium Pack on PS2) was a Sub-Zero one, so I guess it just...came with that.
To be frank a good Collector's Edition for me just needs a fine Artbook, a Soundtrack CD (TTT2 OST CD Bundle was the best one so far) and a statue. If the SF6 Mad Gear Box just had a CD with all the Character and Stage OSTs on it I wouldn't have hesitated at all. Seems though that we still have to wait for a real ULTIMATE Collector's Edition for a Fighting Game.
Fo sure the primo bonus is the documentaries. By the tail end of the 7th gen era, all extras were cards for DLC. I would say that artkbooks are a close second but with the bulk of what goes into production, I would rather those be saved for in-game extras or making a dedicated book that covers developer commentary.
I started wearing my Tekken 6 hoodie just this year. It was my personal most precious collectors item and was scared to wear it cause I hat the white one haha. All in all, I feel collectors editions got so expensive now, that most of the time the statue isn't even worth it anymore to me. Which is why I liked the Sophitia one, the statue was amazing and it wasnt so expensive
For Tekken TT2, there's 4 editions that comes with more times, the Italian exclusive iron fist edition and also Christie monteiro edition, the french exclusive Tekken statue edition and lastly we got the asian exclusive Asia prestige edition There's also an Australian eb games exclusive Tekken 8 King edition
Still have my collector's edition of Mortal Kombat (2009) that came with the game, Scorpion and Sub-Zero book ends and bonus character skins. Also have my vanilla steel book special edition of Marvel vs capcom 3 (both games are on PS3)
I was so hyped about the Infinity Stones in the MvCi Collector's Edition, though thankfully my burning wounds of SFV still held me back from getting them^^;
The Soul Calibur 5 one I never purchased but due to the original owner being a scumbag it became mine. Overtime though I gave it away to my sister because I wasn't using my 360 anymore. She LOVED it because as a kid she was fascinated with that whole hideaway book idea. So giving her something like that just lit up her day. Also yeah Limited Run games if I paid attention to how long it was going to take I probably wouldn't have bothered with even buying the one I did, I'm patient but this is beyond ridiculous. Preorders ended on November 2023 not expected to ship til Q3 2024, nearly a year of waiting.
My TOP 3 Favorite Fighting Game Series: #1 Mortal Kombat, #2 TEKKEN, #3 Soul Calibur (in that order for me) #MortalKombat #Tekken #SoulCalibur #SoulBlade
My biggest collector edition pet peeve is when they don’t include the original case or the game is just a download code and don’t even get me started on steel books
ive been grabbing some older fighting games from ebay for a few months. but when mvc collection was announced it was good news but it also really hurt my motivation to purchase retro fighting games. they are a bit outdated especially with those loading screens. besides the pretty jewel case, artwork, manual and cd and satisfaction of having them on a shelf. there's not much do with them when we have these modern collections being released. after watching this video i feel the collectors editions may still be worth buying because of all the extras you get. but going on ebay and paying $180+ for a retail copy of MVC2 for dreamcast or PS2 those days are over with. just not worth it anymore
I managed to nab the SF6 Mad Gear box as a local store a while back and honestly, best 240 bucks I spend (bonus that it got reduced to that price from 280 bucks, but tbh, Pop Up Parade figues are usually around 60 - 70 bucks each, so kinda fair pricing)
As someone who now owns the statue after this video was uploaded. There is a metal rod that hold it up through Kazuyas leg. It’s very sturdy thankfully!
I had the MK Deception premium pack that my brother got me for my birthday. I still have the metal trading card that it came with, I got Subzero with mine.
Killer Instinct 2013 had an interesting limited edition called the Pin-Ultimate edition. It didn't come with a physical copy of the game (just a code for the ultra edition of season 1) so there was no game case, so instead what you got was a pin display case that had spaces reserved for 16 of them (8 of them were for the season 1 characters and the other were various symbols related to KI) and 2 pins included (Jago and the KI symbol). Penny Arcade did the artwork for the pins which was pretty neat. And speaking of Penny Arcade, you could only get the rest of the pins from their web site.
You just unlocked a memory for me, i totally forgot about that pinset! I remember debating getting it since it was the closest there was to a physical copy of the game at that time
@@baberuthless Yeah, I was completely on board the hypetrain for the game that I shelled out for the pin case. It was a bit of a missed opportunity to not have a collector's or limited edition physical release for the game's 10th anniversary though. At the very least, I'd settle for a cool steelbook and the full stellar soundtrack spanned across multiple CDs (and they have to be named Killer Cuts 😉).
I really haven’t had a reason to buy and fighting game collectors edition. They always come with a very limited art book of just renders, a limited selection cd, an uninspired steel book, download codes, stickers, or a post art, a cheap figure or statue that is off model, and a folded poster. Snk heroines at least came with an honest to god art book and complete soundtrack good for them.
I think a better collector edition for tekken 8 would be the Bandai/Namco tekken cinematic of Jin and Kazuya about to punch each other BUT! It would slowly rotate and the statue would have kazuyas “blue electricity” and Jins “red” electricity surrounding them giving of a strobe light effect.
Woot still rn has Street Fighter 6 collector editions available brand new for $70-90 . I got mine from there for $90 a few months ago , kept my ps4 copy and the digital deluxe code, took everything else of the collectors edition and traded it into a retro game store for $70. Hey Atleast I get Akuma soon
The Tekken 5 stick is a Hori Real Arcade Pro and was one of the first accessible ways for Americans to get a real Japanese style stick, so in my mind it has to be the most important collector's edition for a fighter ever!!
Based on that alone I’d have to agree! I’m blinded to that knowledge as a pad player 😆
And its quality wasnt great as far as I can tell. I got the Tekken 6 collectors edition for 60€ 10 years back.
@@AshPeace The RAP's were actually decent, the Tekken 6 stick on the other hand... I have it too and it's not a good stick by any means.
@@snipebp Can confirm on the RAP. Had an N Hayabusa I got for sfv and I just replaced it with a Nacon Daija. It served me well.

Infinity Eggs... in a box. Just what every Marvel fan can't wait to buy.

That Soulcalibur VI steelbook never went off for me, but it did still break to the point where the announcer sounded like he was yammering on with gibberish.

They should have just had the announcer talk when u opened the game case like those old birthday or thank you cards @@baberuthless

ive been grabbing some older fighting games from ebay for a few months. but when mvc collection was announced it was good news but it also really hurt my motivation to purchase retro fighting games. they are a bit outdated especially with those loading screens. besides the pretty jewel case, artwork, manual and cd and satisfaction of having them on a shelf. there's not much do with them when we have these modern collections being released. after watching this video i feel the collectors editions may still be worth buying because of all the extras you get. but going on ebay and paying $180+ for a retail copy of MVC2 for dreamcast or PS2 those days are over with. just not worth it anymore
I managed to nab the SF6 Mad Gear box as a local store a while back and honestly, best 240 bucks I spend (bonus that it got reduced to that price from 280 bucks, but tbh, Pop Up Parade figues are usually around 60 - 70 bucks each, so kinda fair pricing)
that SNK heroines collector's edition is really cute!
Tekken does have the best collectors editions, lowkey wish for a Reina statue in Tekken 9
That jin statue is way cooler than heihachi vs kazuma,as a figure collector i would be terrified that heihachi's arm would break with time
As someone who now owns the statue after this video was uploaded. There is a metal rod that hold it up through Kazuyas leg. It’s very sturdy thankfully!
I had the MK Deception premium pack that my brother got me for my birthday. I still have the metal trading card that it came with, I got Subzero with mine.
I subbed because of the breadth of knowledge presented in this video about such a niche subject that you obviously love. great job
Thank you! I love talking about this kinda goofy stuff I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
i don't really care for MK, but damn that DCAU looking Scorpion looks amazing
I got that 25th anniversary Ryu statue at a swap meet at San Japan 2016, along w/the blackbelt
Fantastic video Babe. Man are those infinity Stones Lame as hell.
If they release a CD not called Killer cuts it might as well not exist
Like south park snow day!!! LMFAO 😂😂😂
Note the golden scorpion skin was sold and is sold separately and it’s included in the xl edition
They eventually gave the Gold Scorpion skin when MK11 released
I really haven’t had a reason to buy and fighting game collectors edition. They always come with a very limited art book of just renders, a limited selection cd, an uninspired steel book, download codes, stickers, or a post art, a cheap figure or statue that is off model, and a folded poster. Snk heroines at least came with an honest to god art book and complete soundtrack good for them.
"Casuals are probably fine just using a pad"
Me: *hastily shoving my standard controller under the couch* haha yeah totally
I am also that person to be fair 😅
We will never forget the infinity eggs
I think a better collector edition for tekken 8 would be the Bandai/Namco tekken cinematic of Jin and Kazuya about to punch each other BUT! It would slowly rotate and the statue would have kazuyas “blue electricity” and Jins “red” electricity surrounding them giving of a strobe light effect.
Anything with Kazuya im all for honestly so I approve
Woot still rn has Street Fighter 6 collector editions available brand new for $70-90 . I got mine from there for $90 a few months ago , kept my ps4 copy and the digital deluxe code, took everything else of the collectors edition and traded it into a retro game store for $70. Hey Atleast I get Akuma soon
