As a translator, I can say for certain - training is absolutely necessary.
For example, I needed to translate a short movie and describe the whole process in details for my master's thesis 5 years ago. I succeeded with flying colors, but it took a year of training to make it right.

Soooo I am seriously looking into enrolling into your classes. I have been taking classes but I am wanting to learn from someone that is doing what I want to do i.e. video games. I like doing audiobooks etc... but I want to jump into the game pool lol.

It's so opportune that you mention Audiobooks - Chris Ciulla will be offering a 4-week audiobook class 'Audiobooks: Starting Right' starting October 13. The waitlist is open (people on it will get first chance to register) and it will open for registration in the next few days. The course covers everything audiobooks including finding work, tech requirements, narrating, and marketing.
