So true and yes im glad i did it that way! Also had an oftec inspection today and he reminded me that the flue terminal needs to be 1.8m away from the tank but the wall acts as a fire stop! So ye definitely the right call!
Great vid, the joys of Plumbing, my old boss used to say you need a bag of tools and a bag of miracles as well, nothing goes right very often, we are the masters of putting the unexpected right. 👍
Loving the banter. 😂 Did you put the balls in. 🤣 Nice boiler install. As for the mistake the only tradesmen who never make mistakes are liars. Happens to everyone eventually, it's what the person does after that that sets them apart or not. Glad to see you're sorting it for the customer and hope you didn't get burnt by that water. 😬
I love your channel mate I work for a manufacturer of boilers myself. Decent to see a normal bloke doing the graft we all do! And I gave up oil a few months ago can’t say Miss it 😂
Good video as always mate! Carport all day long , would have flued the same way. With the pump, we've all been there🤦♂️ You take precautions and hope it goes okay . 9/10 its fine but you never forget the 1 😂😂👍

Hi mate, Another great video, the flue was a tricky one, to my knowledge and I will try and find as I can't remember, anything specifically in the regulations to say you can't flue into there, however its probably up to interpretation and a grey area, OFTEC are good with grey area's so probably best the way you did it, have you had any problems with those Grundfos pumps, I have swapped three in less than a year that I fitted and have moved on to a different brand
😂😂 oftec love the gray area! So true! I haven’t had any problems yet as-long as you flip the head, i did have a problem with one (when I learned to flip the head 🤦♂️) as the air purge doesn’t work if its upside down! Love your stuff as well mate big fan of the channel! 👍
Just had a boiler which was bossed into soil stack, which soil pipe back up and poo poo and wee wee filled the heat exchanger.. when I install into a stack I always put a tee or drill a hole in the elbow coming out the wall incase this happens. Great video tho mate! Are all them lads working for you?
Appreciate the feedback and you are absolutely right! We have since been back and we popped an air gap in just to be safe! The soil stack we went into isn’t actually being used but agree you never know!
I agree on what you did with the flue.
3 walls and a roof where that boiler is located, condensing oil boilers plume like crazy too lol

Well put!
Running the vent out was a good idea

Well done mate I enjoy your videos great to watch, so it doesn’t just happen to me then ! Keep them them coming.
We are never alone! 😂
I would have done the flue the same as you did. I reckon that would have been viewed as a car port if inspected

Absolutely not, I would of run it as you have. Nice job thanks for the share.
Was that 3/4 condense pipe coming out the wall then you upped it to inch and half?

I agree, air gap definitely needed. I had a boiler fill up with water when the downpipe (into the condensate was fitted) backed up!

That milwaukee sds won't last pissing time if you keep coring 125mm holes with it. Best to invest in a decent core drill.
I am looking into it i use the sds so rarely that if it ever did die then i will buy a core drill but for now its going strong 💪
KBB didn't look like it was 1mtr away from the boiler, best not take Mr Oftec there.............. ;-)
Yep and then insulated! 👍
waste of time watching learnt nothing
Neil be Quiet 🤫
Love this!
