Hi, best crane collection I have ever seen, superb models from Europe which make the British one’s bar the Bachmann 45T Ransom & Rapier model look like cheap toys, I’m not sure if British modellers know how poor our cranes are in comparison, there is a 12T EFE rail YOB crane non functional model that is available now for quite a large price tag, as British modeller in 00 gauge we are starved of cranes and have been for decades, no British manufacturer really cares or produce any because they are quite spineless in that department, thank the Lord the H0 market has a huge range of miniature works of art to choose from, the fact that most of these items are motorised shows how far behind and poor the British market is, many thanks for sharing.

Your obsession with cranes is similar to my obsession with the steelworks!! It's an illness we can't control😂

Very true, I am obsessed with any type of crane even fork lifts I find the mechanics and how they work amazing especially the large mobile cranes. I see loads of them in Manchester as the city is always changing.

WOW! Let me repeat... WOW!!! I did not know you had this many cranes! That is an amazing collection. The Fleischmann is especially cool for me (for whatever reason), and the Roco joystick is a classic! Great video, Jim! If I ever get a chance to raid your attic again, I am going through EVERYTHING to see what other hidden gems you have!!! All the best to you and your family.

I never knew that many cranes were on the market. Now you have to do a video on the cranes while operating them with controls I would love seeing that after how interesting this was. Thanks for showing us your fetish within the hobby, lol. Oh, and I need me a Tie fighter! Great video, Jersey Bill

I have the fleischmann crane train in H0 from my dad, the old style wheel flanges unfortunately don't run nice on modern modern rails like profi rail (or roco or trix).
I also have the fleischmann N scale version of that crane train.

Cool, thanks, The fleischmann Rail crane must be at least 50 years +, like the fleischmann turntable design.

What is missing from all but one of your collection is lifting/spreader beams. I worked in the steel mill construction industry and it is rare to pick up anything with a single lift point. Single lift points are used to rotate items from horizontal to vertical. Any other lift is usually at least 4 point to prevent unwanted accelerations, frequencies and forces which can bend things. Other beams are required to lift large circular items to prevent lifting ropes/wires/ bands from sliding together and tipping the load. (been there, seen it done with a 300 tonne mill roll, it sank a barge). I have a few of the Kibri road/construction site cranes one of which is 1800 Tonne capacity Liebherr. Yes its BIG.

WOW amazing info, I have the beams in the Roco skew crane box but never opened the packet, I think I will actually use them on the next lift.
I might try and look for some for the other cranes. wow that 1800 ton must be an amazing model, do you show it on your channel?
