Apparently Tensorflow doesn't let you programmatically use step functions as activation functions, as the way it runs sessions interferes with me needing to check the domain of every element in the tensors in order to properly apply the step functions. As a result, unless I or anyone else can find a workaround, I'll include my work so far in this notebook here:
