For those who don't know, and if you have to ask, here in BC where this is filmed, the sales tax on this $700k RR is 10% GST (Federal), then on top of that, 20% PST (Provincial) tax. Go calculate that.
The Engineering and Technical expertise of Sandy cannot be underestimated as exemplified @ 5:18 ! Also, apparently this particular specimen does not have the optional heated massaging bidet. My $26k VW Taos has the same type of vanity mirror lighting as shown @ 8:36. 🙄
I expect Rolls Royce to have great luxury but it does seem like it should also have a 800 volt architecture for fast charging and use Solid State batteries so you can offer 400 to 500 miles of range.
As somebody noted, nothing about where the charge port is or the range. What about charging rate and such also? I have read overall to expect 266 miles of range. I guess that is okay when a RR is not a trip vehicle, more of a go from home out to the close 5 star restaurant to eat and maybe take in a play and then back home.

The whole reason for being for luxury cars used to be power, smoothness and reliability. Now these things are all available in reasonably priced cars and we are left with "the leather looks nice because it comes from bulls". 😇 First, props to the camera operator - video and sound was exceptional! Now, the car, well I have some thoughts. I saw a lot of piano black, glossy panels, plastic trim especially in the trunk area (but those hinges!) and what looks like basic auto carpet. The front seat not moving forward and back without that manual handle was so plebeian. I understand no frunk - it would be hard to actually reach anything in there without messing up the surrounding paint. I would have hoped that at $500k these kinds of details would be addressed. I think the wheels are ugly and overly complex (but look at that SPINNER!) To the people who say racist stuff about asians and how they are taking over your city...ooofff. Wake up. Get an advanced education, and a very high paying job. There are lots of very wealthy people in Vancouver because it is a beautiful city with excellent weather. The majority of them are not plunking down this kind of cabbage on a car - probably reserved for the few who actually cannot really afford it but desperately need that status.

Several European premium and luxury brands have 2 door coupe shortened versions of their saloon cars e.g. I drive a 2 door coupe Mercedes. These are made 100% for the driver's pleasure and any occasionally passengers are 3rd rate occupants. Not boasting any wealth. It was 16years old when I bought it for less than 2,000 dollars equivalent because I could not afford the price of small economical cars.

Luckily it is based on 400 volt architecture, so it will be able to properly charge at the Rolls Royce of public chargers, which is of course Tesla Superchargers. Unfortunately most 800 to 900 volt EV’s struggle to attain a decent chargers rate when connected to the 500 volt Tesla Superchargers, so they are burdened with having to search for a non-Tesla public charger that actually works. I fully realize that most Rolls Royce owners won’t need to lower themselves to indulge in charging at public charging stations, but it is peace of mind to know that in a pinch, they could have success when connecting up to the best of them.
THE UX/UI is ridiculously bad... WHY ON EARTH have they still not learned ANYTHING from the perfect UX/UI of any Tesla vehicle, built since 2016 - THAT is efficient, fun and luxury. ROLLS ROYCE, BMW and even Mercedes are SO MUCH behind there. Even the lack of electrification of the seats in the ROLLS is crazy to me. Just because it has lots of expensive cow leather in it, THAT DOES NOT justify the enormous half a million price tag. It feels like sitting in a 1998 BMW combi vehicle that has been "pimped" by an east european interior company of that time... NOT of any standard or taste it SHOULD be with such prices today - it's 2024. Foolish.
a touchscreen is not luxury, it feels the same in a 20k and 200k car. Everyone has a phone with touchscreen now. The way to show true perceived quality is with well-damped and nice to use physical controls.

100%. If I had no budget, millions, etc, the only vehicle I would drive is a Tesla. Because of the UI and autopilot, not because of the fake leather material. It's really much like Apple or Android. Most people stick with one OS forever because that's what they are used to.
I don’t care about leather and wood - when will it be able to drive me from place to place? As far as I’m concerned a Tesla with FSD, which now drives me from place to place with zero interventions and no hands on the wheel (12.5.4 is now hands free even with sunglasses) is MUCH more luxurious than a Rolls Royce. Soon it will basically be a nice horse carriage and nobody will care about it except those who want to show they can spend $700k on old technology. Also, it’s basically a BMW 7 series… 😅

Rolls were traditionally driven by chauffeurs with the owners sitting in the rear. A 2-door Rolls is a Bentley which are driven by the owner.

100%. If I had no budget, millions, etc, the only vehicle I would drive is a Tesla. Because of the UI and autopilot, not because of the fake leather material. It's really much like Apple or Android. Most people stick with one OS forever because that's what they are used to.
I don’t care about leather and wood - when will it be able to drive me from place to place? As far as I’m concerned a Tesla with FSD, which now drives me from place to place with zero interventions and no hands on the wheel (12.5.4 is now hands free even with sunglasses) is MUCH more luxurious than a Rolls Royce. Soon it will basically be a nice horse carriage and nobody will care about it except those who want to show they can spend $700k on old technology. Also, it’s basically a BMW 7 series… 😅
It's a 2door Rolls, part of it is the driving experience. If you want to be driven you get a LWB Phantom and hire a driver.
