"Grist" is malted barley after roasting, ready to be used in the fermentation process, for example in whisky distilling. For me it has to be roasted over peat. The flavour that peat smoke adds to the malt is something special. Milled grist flour is used in the baking of malted bread and here in Scotland distilleries like Laphroaig add it to oat cakes, which take on the flavour of their whisky. Delicious with a strong cheddar or French brie cheese!
A gristmill (also: grist mill, corn mill, flour mill, feed mill or feedmill) grinds cereal grain into flour and middlings. The term can refer to either the grinding mechanism or the building that holds it. Grist is grain that has been separated from its chaff in preparation for grinding.
Hey, I've been to that mill! It's a cool little volunteer outfit. I wish you could have gone inside. They make flour and cornmeal there, and you can buy the finished product (after watching the whole production process).
The only thing I find ironic about a car like this is spending over $500,000 just to end up next to me and my $80,000 Lyriq waiting for an EVgo charger in the backyard of a TARGET 🎯 parking lot.
If you have to charge in public it certainly takes the luxury feeling away. I'd imagine most buyers would charge at home in their garage, couldn't imagine a RR buyer screwing around setting up a charge station app on their phone, and going from charger to charger trying to find one that isn't out of service.
@@volvo09 Well, that’s just it: how many of these luxury yacht buyers take road trips? I’ve seen many of them on the New Jersey Turnpike and being driven between Florida and New York City. If you have to charge you have to charge. It’s just that simple.
Buyers of this aren't cross shopping the Lyriq. They would be looking at the Celestiq if they wanted a comparable Cadillac. And if they can afford this or the Celestiq they are rarely charging in public. These are their luxury "runabouts" for local jaunts.
Hi Roman, RUclips may be as close as I'll ever get to a Rolls-Royce Spectre, and at Half a Million Dollars apiece (for starters) there will only be a few actually built. Rolls-Royce talks about "Bespoke" crafting, but the only Spectre I've seen online looks like a spec selected by a 10 year old going through a box of Crayola crayons. Where is the elegant, regal Rolls-Royce Spectre that wows everyone with its beauty and grace? Somewhere there's a Spectre on the streets of a major city, allowing drivers of lesser automobiles to feel good about themselves.
I understand that Rolls-Royce are handmade and they have manufacturing processes which ultimately cost more, but I honestly see no difference between a Rolls-Royce Spectre and my Cadillac LYRIQ. In fact, my Cadillac gets better range. Ultimately: electric vehicle manufacturers need to focus on reducing weight.
An automobile's driver will never escape being the same person inside, regardless of how nice, or fast their car is. Rolexes and Rolls Royces are just accoutrements of luxury meant to assuage the egos of their owners, while showing off to the plebeian masses. Nonetheless, they do make a statement, and who doesn't enjoy a bit of luxury?
Roman, I am 6’3” 325lbs and I noticed that you looked cramped in there. All that money for that car and no power leg bolster to make it support the back of your legs while driving. That’s not good. Great Video Thank You 🙏
Money doesn’t always mean taste! That’s the whole point. You design your own colour scheme. At this price you don’t want to know another car of the same colours exists! That’s what being really rich means
Puerto Rican Drug Dealer spec. ... and nothing luxurious about a 2 Door Rolls... I guess if you're gonna drive it yourself, but that's what Bentleys are for.
Electric vehicles, ironically offer everything that luxury cars have been doubting for the longest of times. Electric vehicles offer dead, silent rides. Electric vehicles, offer flatter cornering. Electric vehicles offer state of the art technology. Many rich owners don’t drive their cars very much and need to leave them plugged to a battery tender. In this case you have a battery that could be plugged in anyway to be tended. Electric vehicles allow you to take a large, uncompromising vehicle and make it energy/fuel efficient. The Rolls-Royce Spectre and Wraith give the ultrarich a choice between driving electric and driving gas. The gas mileage in those cars is horrible, but the electric range actually makes more economical sense over a long period of ownership.
I think this takes the "special" feeling away from the car though. There was something special about making a huge engine and transmission super smooth and quiet. It just comes natural with an EV... Just add soft suspension and a luxury body.
I hate to say this Roman, but you’re starting to slip a little bit with how you present stuff. There’s lots of spaces, pauses, not quite sure what you’re gonna say next moments you are just kind of stumbling through a lot of these reviews now. Maybe it’s time to hang up the old on camera review hat and let others take the reins.
That is one ugly color combo. Hot pink and army green. When I can finally afford to spend that kind of cash, if those are the two colors I pick, push me off a cliff.
Money and good taste don’t always go together. Where I live there is a very very successful professional snooker player who has a Rols Royce’s Cullinan in London Taxi Black with a Tangerine interior and exterior trim including the front grille and wheels. There’s no accounting for taste but one thing for sure nobody is going to steal it out the hotel car park as it’s so eye catching
This car looks so cheap but it looks like you’d pay 5 to 10 grand for it probably cost $3000 to make because basically who needs this when they could have a Toyota Tercel.
A Model S Plaid is 2 seconds and a Lucid Sapphire is 1.89. Makes your C8 look like a turtle. But that's all irrelevant. The whole point of a Rolls is extreme comfort and that kind of acceleration isn't pleasant. When I got my first Model 3, a mere 4.4 seconds, I punched it a couple of times. I nearly passed out so I never did it again. Nobody has ever drag raced a Rolls, they need to have ultra smooth acceleration on normal roads
It's not supposed to be fast. Rolls Royce gives you enough power where you won't feel it's inadequate, but they don't go overboard and try to set records. 4 seconds to get back up to highway speed after pulling over is plenty fast.
RR were never the fastest. About usable power and when needed. clear we are not the target buyers for this vehicle. They will sell as many as they want, with long waiting time, I suspect
Roman you should have worn a suit and a chauffeurs cap. 😂
I like this series. More please lol
Keep up the good work!
Keep doing your thing Roman! Great job. I’ll pretty much watch whatever you guys post!
These cars are huge.
They are limos.
An electric Phantom and Ghost would make sense for Limo companies doing weddings.
$500,000 car???? That car should be able to charge itself!
What d’you expect, it’s a Rollie

Going over the features is always entertaining thank you.
.....the best are Roman's anecdotes.....! Of course the car is also awesome.

Roman that Grist mill is even more amazing when it's open, operating and you can go in.
Rolls Royce will always be the most luxurious car in existence, this electric version is no exception.

"For the price of this you could get 5 Raptor Rs". Love it that you just can't take the Off Road out of Roman.
Wow! That must be, imho, the best application of electric power. Probably not a primary vehicle, just the epitome of grand touring - wow!
James Bond Spectre
Please do more of it!
I watched Jay Leno's review of his Spectre a few months ago. Very nice (-;
Roman, you have a twin in Ouray, Colorado. I was at a restaurant in Ouray this past Wednesday and there was a guy that could have passed as your twin.

One of the things I always notice is the sudden lack of EV haters in relation to cars that they can’t possibly hope to afford.
Yeah not feeling the olive green and pinkish interior. And you didn't drive all the others, but you're allowed to drive this thing?? lol

You could have way less than $100 million to buy that and still be comfortable doing so.
Even if I had millions of dollars burning a hole in my pocket, I don't think I could ever justify buying a Rolls... I don't need a status symbol

With how fast EVs are losing value, the depreciation on this think is going to make your head spin.
rich people have assets that pays for cars like this so depreciation don't matter
Rolls Royce buyers aren't concerned with depreciation... The gas models also depreciate.
