It pays better. Buy bets give true odds minus the vig. 5% of the bet. For place you get 7 for 6. 6/8 true odds are 6 to 5 If you buy 6 on 6/8 you’d only get $6 x 6/5 = 7.20 minus $6x0.05 30 cents or 6.90. All the other number true odds are better to do the buy.
Once or twice a year he might hit gold. Power pressing and not replenishing your stack is insane
