Now this is a good idea for a sequel. Not only I want to see more emotions, but also new islands of personality that revolve around the phases some of us gone through as teenagers.
Given the colorful, changing text at the ending ... and the spoilery early poster for the movie ... we have - somewhat: envy (cyan), embarassment (pink), anxiety (orange) and boredom (indigo blue)
@@aryelrosa4829 Wait.. Wasn't the point of the original that Joy SHOULDN'T be the leader? That the whole thing was her coming to realize that she was actually causing more problems than she was solving by not allowing Sadness to do anything?
Normally I hate my anxiety, but now that I known Maya Hawke is voicing this emotion in this film. I love her already. I love Maya Hawke in Stranger Things and I'm sure I'll love her as Anxiety in this. Maya was basically the embodiment of anxiety in season 4 of stranger things, so I'm sure she'll do a great job as the actual emotion here.

Bing Bing won’t be returning in Inside Out 2 sadly, due to his death in the First Movie but his bottomless bag might make a reappearance and it will introduce Anxiety and several new emotions or Riley’s new adult imaginary friends who will be just as memorable as Bing Bong and Joy will try to fulfill Bing Bong’s dying wish of getting Riley to the Moon as he promised by convincing Riley to take a college course in space travel and in NASA. I also wonder if Joy will be returning as main protagonist yet again or Sadness Will this time appear as protagonist while Joy will be demoted to deuteragonist.
0:48 I like the little detail that when Sadness starts to cry out of fear, Disgust steps in to protect her Shows that they really learned their lesson from the previous film on respecting each other as equally important emotions to work together for Riley’s sake I think this is the first big step for Riley’s team of emotions to become more structured like her parents own emotions Now let’s see how they will deal with Anxiety and the new set of emotions that will come in this sequel
I LOVE the detail of joy runs up in front of the others while the rest of the emotions took a step back, that one small detail really said a lot about her character as well as Riley’s own
Something I do like about Joy is how she leads the group but is also instantly down to protect them from anything new or dangerous, quickly ushering them behind her when Anxiety is presented to them
My read would be, Riley, puts on a brave face towards new situations. She laughs them off while bottling them up. Leading to her outbursts in the first movie.
Love Pixar for establishing fear and anxiety as two very different emotions. They're too commonly grouped together as synonyms rather than acknowledged as distinctive feelings.
I have to give a lot of props to Pixar. Reincorporating the emotions that were cut from the final draft of the first movie into the sequel is a cool idea and one that definitely has me invested.
@@NewyorkJKSK the only thing I can think of if they don't is that over time, the primary emotions just go back down to a set number again? That's my best guess anyway
They didn't make the first movie cut for a reason, now Pixar/Disney is scarping the barrel using old ideas to create an movie around characters they originally scraped
@@NewyorkJKSK The interesting thing about the first movie though, is that it is told from Riley's perspective. And since she is a child, she can't really comprehend and understand different emotions than these. Hence, the parents don't have them, because in Riley's mind there are no other feelings
The question is … am I going to get sad and cry . Get angry … be happy and worried and scared at the same time again. 😭😭😭 this movie had me all over the place
I love that Anxiety is her own emotion and not just an extension of Fear. It shows how complex the experience of anxiety is that it needs to be classified as its own emotion!
Except it’s not an emotion…..it’s a health condition that was either inflicted or wasn’t exercised or prevented. Feelings of being anxious or nervous is an emotion. Anxiety itself is a condition. Disney continues to help the dumbing down submissive brainwashing of our youth.
Fear is being afraid of something that is currently happening and anxiety is being afraid of something that could potentially happen. But it doesn't make sense because you can't feel anxious without feeling fear.
Hopefully this will take Pixar back to the powerhouse it usually is. The last few pixar movies were hit or miss. Theme of anxiety definitely could work

This movie really does deserve a sequel though. The struggles of a younger child are much different than someone going through puberty. Also the first movie set this sequel up very well too.
@@drillerdev4624, everyone knows that there’s going to be retcones, or maybe there will be a moment of like acceptance or something where they fuse/absorb the new emotions, resulting in it being back to the core 5, like how as you get older, you learn to handle your emotions better.
as someone whos dealt with anxiety since i was 13, i love that that emotion is added into the crew when riley turns into teenager!! i completely admire the layers of that and how its gonna bring awareness to parents who have teens that are handling anxiety!! props to pixar for that!
If we're just creating slightly different versions of emotions then, I can't wait to see a maroon colored Rage, a bright white Elation, a forest green Revulsion, and a navy Depression (which, like anxiety, is an emotional disorder and not an emotion)
I absolutely love the face that *Anxiety* has a lot of baggage. And the fact that, even compared to the cartoony designs of Anger and Fear, anxiety's design proportions are... well, blown out of proportion.
Those 2 were weird but they didn't go too far back from making them whacky. Anxiety straight up looks like a Muppet and reminds me of Art from Monsters University
I can't wait to see all these emotions interacting. The only thing is why chosing all "negative" new ones. It's sounds cliché but especially when you're a teenager you're experiencing "Love", "Friendship", "Ambition" too. Maybe in a adulthood part 3? Well, Joy will have a lot to do to keep everyone together!

Because love and friendship can already be explained by Joy and ambition by Anger. What would be the point in adding those when Riley already feels all these things? Anxiety though? Now that's a new one that comes with getting older.
Honestly with how well they handled the first movie, I'm pretty hopeful for this sequel. It still feels right and I'm interested to see how they'll handle the psychology side of this.
The director for the sequel has only directed a single short film (6 mins) called Party Central. I hope this movie turns out well but I'm nervous about the fact that Pete Docter isn't coming back to direct the sequel
This is the the worst they could've done. I can't explain how but those who understand the modern soulless trend in movies will understand. The anxiety & nervousness trait have been plaguing the modern movies.
This is the perfect time for a sequel. I was still a kid when the first came out, by now I’ve gone through the emotions and challenges of becoming a teenager and I can’t wait to see how this film handles this part of our lives.
This is a perfect idea for a sequel. There are many opportunities to explore panic attacks and a bunch of middle school/high school related scenarios. I also think that anxiety and fear will be good friends.
@@edgardomartinez4864 you don’t need to comment your opinion either then. And I would expect emotions that are more relatable. Ennui? Lol and also anxiety is not an emotion. It’s a symptom. This movie is aimed at kids. I don’t want my kids to know about anxiety at this age and fill them with thoughts that everything they feel is anxiety. That word is over used for every little thing nowadays
This honestly seems great. The trailer shows the right amount unlike how others have been. And I really would like to see how anxiety is portrayed as well as any others.
This is pretty much exactly what I was expecting for an Inside Out sequel, but still glad they’re doing it. Don’t screw this one up Pixar. Edit : Holy macaroni it’s not even been an hour, you guys are flooding my notifications 😭 Edit 2 : :)
0:57 "She's all set!" as they left headquarters in a complete mess. That is correct, cuz at this stage of life, the mind would logically be a destructive reconstructive mess. As a fan of the first movie, this seems really promising! I also love anxiety’s design. It’s supposed to have an off model freaky appearance to relate to how we get anxiety.
I really like how they messed up everything and tore everything apart on Demo Day, and the fact that it happens when Riley hits puberty really serves as a metaphor and indicates how puberty can change one's mind from something beautiful into something dark. Props to Pixar for bringing such emotions to the big screens, I can't wait for the movie!
As someone who *LOVED* the first movie, I'm really excited for this. I think them adding 4 new emotions because Riley's a teenager now is a great choice, Anxiety being the first of those 4 to be revealed makes perfect sense as it's basically the *_first_* emotion you feel as you grow up - like for starting high school, college or a new job - and Maya Hawke's performance as her sounds pretty good.
@@darkangel7589 Yeah, they posted the visual on Twitter and it depicts them inside a manhole. Their names are Embarrassment, Ennui (whatever the heck *THAT* is) and... I forgot the last one lol.
I love when they set movies up for sequels and it makes sense to do a sequel. It’s not forced, it feels natural and the sequel only adds to the story that’s already built. A lot of sequels nowadays do not feel necessary at all and just feel like a money grab for them and when you watch them they’re just a waste of time cause they were so bad lol. This one looks really good and the story seems really promising! There’s so much room to do a full movies series and really expand on Riley’s story and I’m so excited to see it! This looks like the old Disney and Pixar and I’m hoping this will be just as good as the original👏🏻👏🏻
@@NewyorkJKSKI don't think so. The song is Crazy Train by Ozzy Ozborne (I think that's how you spell his last name), and that's just a part of the song. Unless bing bong is voiced by Ozzy Ozborne? In which case, yeah, I guess he is.
I love that the first new emotion they show is Anxiety, literally the first emotion that comes in when you start high school and begin growing up, you start to see the world as it is. Very excited for this deserved sequel!
@@shootingsmilla1239you got this! Be strong, look straight ahead and always believe in yourself for anything you look to accomplish! It might be scary, it WILL be scary, there will be moments where anxiety will come in, but you can always overcome it with positive thoughts.
I'm a little unsure; as someone diagnosed with anxiety, it's a little hard to tell what angle their coming from lol. I hope they don't give bad rep to the actual disorder, and sort of make the charecter into a general representation of fear. (that is, if theyre trying to represent the actual disorder)
Just some things I wanted to point out: -Disgust was shielding Sadness from the worker -Fear with his teddy bear ^w^ -Disgust and Fear’s replacement VA’s are absolutely perfect. Sound just like the original -The five main emotions overall seem to be more accepting and understanding of each other. Good character development. Can’t wait for this movie. It already looks amazing.
Love the fact they are bringing back concepts from the cutting rooms floor to this sequel. Teenage life has certainly got more emotionally to deal with irl so I'm looking forward to how disney shows us these new feelings Also oddly feel anxiety and fear will get along, both very much linked irl so it'd make sense
OR maybe anxiety and fear won’t get along cause anxiety is more irrational, so through interactions with eachother, fear might become less fearful in the end
As someone with anxiety, I am so glad I can finally relate to a character that can go through the same thing as me. It’s very difficult to handle and it affects me daily, so I’m very excited to see this new movie :)
As a 16-year-old with mild social anxiety, I can already tell that I'm going to relate to this movie a lot just by the inclusion of Anxiety as an emotion, and having the one and only Maya Hawke voice her. I mean, the awkward design of her is already perfect, but the _literal_ emotional baggage she had with her was just the cherry on top for me.
Something I do like about Joy is how she leads the group but is also instantly down to protect them from anything new or dangerous, quickly ushering them behind her when Anxiety is presented to them!
The sad thing, in real life, is that the dominant emotion can change and often does, in the transition from childhood (where i imagine Joy is the dominant one for most people) to adolescence and adulthood (where it doesn't appear Joy is dominant for many).
Watched Inside Out 2 last night!!! It is such an amazing movie and a great follow up to the first one!!! It really shows how when we grow up, things can really change in our lives. Anxiety can also really take control of you if you are not careful. A wonderful, relateable, and emotional movie!!!
At first, I didn't want to see a sequel to this movie, but the idea of puberty kicking is so funny to me and the fact that they added anxiety as a new emotion is hilarious. Also, Crazy Train is a very fitting song for the trailer. I just noticed that anxiety is not the only new emotion, but there will also be envious, ennui and embarrassed. I am very curious of how they will work this out. Now I am acutally looking forward to see this movie.
@@easobento2735 I know, right? Mom and I don't always love movies because they're too long, and they are too boring. Besides, you wouldn't see the 2006 comedy movie, RV, won't you, easobento2735?
The original movie practically saved my life. I was a depressed teenager when I first saw it in theaters, and had already made two attempts on my life. Inside Out made me realize that I am loved, that other people feel the same way I do, and that the only way forward was to embrace who I am and live life to the fullest. I’m also fortunate enough to have met Pete Docter AND Phyllis Smith and been able to tell them all of that myself. In other words, don’t screw this up Pixar.
@@ginnovogroup6419you mean the actor, Maya Hawke. Yeah, I’ve never seen Stranger Things before but I can tell Maya Hawke is perfect choice to play Anxiety.
I like how the team is staying true to the design of the first movie trailer with the use of suspense and the music tie it together really well. I am excited to see how the film portrays the constant emotional rollercoaster of anxiety.😍
The gap between the first movie and the sequel is so perfect, it’s like summarizing the past few years of some of us growing into and out of teenagers, into a movie whose predecessor had such emotional impact on us as children
See I disagree cause the kids who r gonna be 13 next year were born 4 yrs before the first movie came out they were literal preschoolers/kindergarteners so if they make Riley a teen now (as in she turns 13 in 2023/2024) that doesn’t work with her character but if they make her a kid who turns 13 in 2016 like she would have been then there could be complaints about that, u wouldn’t think people would complain but I bet u anything someone would 😔😔😔, I am still very excited for the movie but they definitely shouldn’t have waited this long
If you pause and go frame by frame at 1:24, the you can see the new emotions are Anxiety, Envy, and Embarrassment. This looks really exciting! While I agree that not _all_ Disney movies should get sequels (cough cough Toy Story 5), I've always thought that an Inside Out 2 could be really special. I'm also curious how their going to justify the emotions only appearing now when she's 13, since children can absolutely also get anxious, envious, and embarrassed. All will be revealed in 2024 I guess! I also love their pajama outfits, especially Fear's
this is such a good time to make a sequel, i'm sure a lot of people grew up with the movie as a kid and now seeing riley go through what a lot of us went through in the time afterwards as a teen will definitely be enticing to watch and relate to
Can we just talk about how Joy immediately jumped in front of the other emotions when a new one appeared? She’s such a leader and I can’t wait to see how she progresses as a character in the new movie.
I like how Anxiety isn't all anxious at all, she's just too excited that she's nervous. I mean, there might be some moments of her going all anxious in the full movie, but in this teaser trailer at least, she's excited and nervous to meet the other emotions. I have a feeling she's gonna be my favorite. EDIT (SPOILER WARNING): So, I just watched to movie, and WOW! It was amazing! Anxiety did turn out to be one of my favorites. She has a motive and would do anything to achive that, even bottling up the original emotions. But she's doing all of the actions in the movie for Riley's own good. So yeah, she became my favorite, along with Embarassment.
Anxiety's overall demeanor makes me think of one common way anxiety is born / begins to manifest. Someone is just a little too excited, a little too invested and genuine in loving something, or missed a social cue, and other people can't handle it. For whatever reason, they snap at this person (or the other person interprets it that way), and this person shrinks in on themselves a little. Rinse and repeat. Anxiety is born.
Inside Out is such a special movie to me. It came out at the right time for me. I resonated with it so much and it literally changed my life with its outlook on toxic positivity. Anyway, looking forward to them representing my anxiety disorder.
I was anxious when I first heard about this, but now my hopes are high for this sequel. Love seeing Pixar's old genius and art style coming back with the right team still at it!
Can't wait! I love the first one! I'm split on the idea of adding Anxiety though. On the one hand I feel like anything you can do with Anxiety you could do with Fear. Then again, Anxiety is a more complex emotion as it also handles stress, worry, guilt, overthinking, and self-doubt so maybe it makes sense (especially since Riley is now a teenager). What do you guys think? The design will need some getting use 2.
From what I read, Fear is about feeling stress of dangers that are right in front of you or near you, an emotion that tries to pull you away from those threats when the moment calls While Anxiety is about you overthinking potential dangers and situations that may or may not happen, making them seem worse than they may actually be, an emotion that tries to prevent something bad from ever happening to you And one can cause the other, and they're very mutual, that may be why they're effectively complementary colors (Purple and Orange) Though I'm not sure if that's correct, I'm no expert
I can already see how Pixar is pushing new ideas for this film with the introduction of Anxiety and potentially of other new emotions. I’m actually looking forward to this.
For anyone who couldn’t catch the different emotions at 1:25 the new ones are: Anxiety, Envy, Ennui (tired and boredom as one), and Embarrassed. So maybe we might see that old envy design makes it debut!
The first film taught me that it was okay to be sad. I still try and remember that message, because I think it's one many people still haven't completely internalized. It's one of Pixar's best films for me. Hopefully, this film lives up to what is probably now a modern classic. And almost ten years later! What are the odds?... Looking at this trailer, it's definitely got promise. They're continuing off of the first one with Joy and the other emotions treating Sadness as a necessary feeling as she learned in the first movie (yay!), more outfits for the emotions (which shows just how confident they are with character design), and the fact that they used Crazy Train in the trailer, like with them using Emotions in the teaser for the first film, to now signify that Riley's now a teenager is just *chef's kiss* beautiful. And I love that Anxiety has actual emotional baggage - the puns just write themselves, it seems. Also: I wonder if and how they're going to reference Bing Bong, especially if they show how Joy has tried to fulfill her promise to him. Because, after all, the best Pixar films have, say it with me now, EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!
@@nrkniceanxiety’s kinda natural tho. Of course it can get out of wack, but all the emotions can as well. You can be too anxious, yes, but you can also be too happy, too sad, too scared, too disgusted, or too angry.
@@twelved4983 That's a really good point. My point is, anxiety is a liar. It rewards you for bad behavior. For general anxiety, it makes you push your opinion on other people, and then when you do, you feel better. Such as "I told them to save money" "I told them to eat healthy" "I told them they are wasting their time." So you think you saved the situation and you do it again and again. It only relieves the stress in the short term, and it hurts the people around you. It shouldn't be okay to listen to your anxiety. And this is definitely referring more to anxiety disorders.
It certainly seems that Pixar is going to put a lot of love into this new installment, I'm sure it will be one of the films that will really connect with the viewer
Maya Hawke as Anxiety is solidified proof that this feel everything animated film will never disappoint. Seems like this won't only tackle surface-level problems. It also includes more internalized and more in-depth workings of the human mind.
Man it feels so weird that the first film is almost a decade old. It was the first Pixar movie I went to see in cinema when it came out. I remember that I went to see it with one of my friends and my grandparents and about half way threw the film my grandfather fell asleep and didn't until it ended 😂
This sequel sure looks like its going to be incredible. Really neat concept with the control room being "torn apart" for no big reason with Riley´s age to represent the changes in her life. And her older look is pretty much perfect for a 13 year old. With a small hint of her younger self still shining through. Now. Anxiety. Couldn`t think of a better way of depicting that emotion. The hair and body somewhat matches Fear, just cranked up alot. And the "baggage" joke. Clever.
As a person that hates feeling anxious, I get the feeling Pixar is about to show me a healthy way to deal with it… And it probably involves accepting that feeling.
Just ignore your intrusive thoughts also don't give two fucks about others think of you cause what they think doesn't matter a whole lot and learn to be laidback if your feeling if anxiousness comes from trauma then go get some counseling
@@lol-sq9rx well, any anxiousness for me only really becomes a problem with some things related to my job. While I appreciate your advice, and those strategies have worked in many other settings for me, they do not work in the career settings I’m thinking of (I have tried them, as well as others). The only thing I have not tried that you mentioned is counseling, and that may be the way to go.
@@twocents7509 I'm just a little confused, isn't anxiety just a derivative form of fear? Like literally feeling anxious is like feeling scared of not having things in proper control
This was rumored for years, and seeing the actually thing looks sick. Anxiety is SUCH a smart emotion to include, so I’m excited for this. I’m gonna see it
As a person who has generalize anxitey disorder I’m happy anxiety is getting more representation! Most of the shows I watch deal with bigger health issues and anxiety can be a big one too! This movie will be great
@@mathiaslienafa789 I would be very curious if Pixar decide to go a mental health route like depression and anxiety. I wouldn’t think Disney would but Pixar tend to tackle important topics
The animation looks even more stellar than in the first movie. The story also follows a logical plot point instead of changing the story out of the blue. This could be great.
It literally does change the story out of the blue though lol they’ve already established these five emotions are in every person and have shown us countless heads that only have these 5 but now suddenly you get more
0:38, Okay, this part of the Trailer really has me interested right now. Even Riley's Emotions are having trouble understanding what's happening around here, and I don't blame them.
Now this is a good idea for a sequel. Not only I want to see more emotions, but also new islands of personality that revolve around the phases some of us gone through as teenagers.
Given the colorful, changing text at the ending ... and the spoilery early poster for the movie ...
we have - somewhat:
envy (cyan), embarassment (pink), anxiety (orange) and boredom (indigo blue)
would be funny if the personality islands are constantly being torn down and rebuilt - because teenagers you know
I don't get jt though. Anxiety and Embarrassment are just literal combinations of the already existing emotions.
that's your mom.
Yep- the original was set up perfectly for a sequel given the concept & I'm so excited it's here!

@@-agent10-2listen to the voice
I was assuming that Anxiety was possibly male or non-binary. It's hard to tell someone's gender sometimes.

Nice pun, kid
Yeah, they'll have to explain the difference, it's likely one of the first dialogues when anxiety is introduced.
From what I read, Fear is about feeling stress of dangers that are right in front of you or near you, an emotion that tries to pull you away from those threats when the moment calls
While Anxiety is about you overthinking potential dangers and situations that may or may not happen, making them seem worse than they may actually be, an emotion that tries to prevent something bad from ever happening to you
And one can cause the other, and they're very mutual, that may be why they're effectively complementary colors (Purple and Orange)
Though I'm not sure if that's correct, I'm no expert
Oh god. Do you think those fan theories are true? Will they add a "Depression" who has some weird love story with Sadness? 😭
Anxiety is an explosion of emotions tbh, sometimes you can't even tell, why it's happening, what is causing it or how you are feeling
Also there's more emotions revealed at the end? (Ennui, Jealousy, Embarassment, and ofc Anxiety)

Omg you don't even know how excited I am to see this movie in June!
I like the message it's okay to feel sad. I wouldn't like the message it's okay to feel anxious.
